Abuse is not use. Running my JP23 in phoenix and somedays the bass knob says 136 degrees... when using it it cools in about 20 mins to under 90 degrees. Don't run low ohm loads and push everything to the max and heat wont be an issue. These are good amps... Will def get my business again, I promote using them to all my customers 👍

I've been into car audio since the old school Liner Power, Zapco, & Sherwood days. All of my cars have had upgraded stereos installed by myself. So I decided to pick up and Installed one of these JP2300v2 with the back plexiglass facing into the car running at 2ohms pushing two 12's kicker Q-Class. This amp gets down, hits the deep low notes beautifully, runs cool and never has overhead. I previously was using a Brazilian smart 3k bass and never even came close to the power and clean output that this JP2300v2 puts out. Solid amp great product, and it shipped out immediately 👍🏼

I've been nothing short of impressed with any product I've received with the D4S brand on it. As someone else said, anything in mass production can fail, but the important thing is how does the company stand behind their products? They can't guarantee your item wont break, but what they can do is make sure the customer receives fair treatment. And from what I've seen, JP and the crew at D4S is there for their customers.

I just got my amp last week. Coming from only Fosgate amps I was kinda skeptical but wanted to give yall a chance. Let me say I am very impressed and for the price I say it is the best amp. I noticed it did get a little hot and I had the same idea as you said. I noticed the fans on on the bottom and decided to raise the amp and let me tell you that’s all it needed. This video was much needed because I don’t think many people raise their amp for air flow

Recently picked up my first D4S amp. It’s just a JP8.4 but I’m very satisfied so far. I have it on a vertical wall in an extended cab truck where the rear seat used to be. It’s elevated about 1" off the rack as I would’ve done 20+ years ago when I was an install tech. Just a good installation practice. Heat kills electronics.

My JP23 was in protect mode because of extreme heat temperatures from hot weather but other than that mine works fine. I love how it performs. Any person with common sense knows that any amp can shut down due to extreme heat in hot weather conditions.

*Joe from Dallas Tx here… I am in the middle of a big build and I am considering using some JPs as I have faith in his products. But I think it’s laziness or lack of knowledge with most people not wanting to put in the small amount of extra effort to raise their amps. All amps are supposed to be on some form of standoffs due to every amp on the market having fans on the bottom. JP is right there’s multiple reasons why any amp will fell or heat up but as far as overheating, amps must sit on standoffs to breathe and stay cool and for best performance have external fans blowing through the amp under and top where the heatsink is

I have seen a good product with all negative reviews many times, I didn't believe the reviews and ended up buying the product with absolutely no problems. It happens with products that either work or they don't like an SD card reader, if it works there is nothing impressive about it and no review is left, but any faults and everyone will do a 1 star review.

As a former professional installer understand everything that you said in your video as far as consumers not being on the up-and-up and knowledgeable about power supplies as well as installation. Yes there is a fan on the bottom of your amplifiers but perhaps you should make the feet Mount taller so that that fan to circulate properly. A minor adjustment that may read your 1% problem. Just a few thoughts from an IASCCA finanlist and former professional installer.

Bought a JP95 and absolutely love it! I really think most people don't wire up systems properly or understand WHY it's important. Good wire and caps/batteries are pricey and add to the build more then the average installer is mabye prepared for or has little knowledge of. These are amazing amps for people that want high quality equipment at a price point they can afford!

Yea everytime I change something around I have to pull up a diagram to make sure I get the series/parallel wiring correct. It's so basic and I mostly remember how to do whatever I want to do but I have to double check and sometimes I make mistakes. Everyone else I know that has owned a system didn't know shit but would happily pull it apart, and move some wires around, and jus goof with their stuff trying to get more bass lmao That's pretty much the most simple thing to get right yet people so often don't even pull up a Google image to learn about how to hook their stuff up before they go to plugging shit in and turning knobs lol

I been rocking my JP43, JP234 & JP84 for well over a year now and running them on upgraded electrical as we all should. I’m in the Inland Empire which gets pretty hot and I have never not once had any failures in my system. I stand by D4S equipment! I’m totally convinced that 99% of the so called failures are User error, either an overlooked defect in the install or over driven.

1. Never has my JP 33 gotten hot behind the rear seat of a ford superduty crewcab on an amp rack. Have only had 1 issue with my JP33 and the amp still played. The Bluetooth module in the amp for the bass knob failed. I'm waiting for it to get back in the next day or two to push the 12 zv6 again. Remember they have specific requirements for their warranties to be upheld and if any single one of them wasnt held up on your end they wont honor your warranty. If it truly was a defect and the amp was the issue that sucks and id be mad too. But they ask for very specific setup for the amps especially larger ones, and most amps dont just light on fire without something happening. Ive had every big name amp peoole say theyve had fires and issues with and ive never had issues 🤷‍♂️ ive had skar, taramps, audiopipe, and d4s all on completely wrong electrical, not enough power and still no issues

Airflow is very critical for ANY electrical component. AC or DC. If it’s a TV in your house, or an amplifier in the car, you must have some airflow. JP hit the nail on the head when explaining using spacers to mount them. Spacers are a must and easily accessible. Just half inch spacers would be sufficient enough for cooling.

The fact that most users on forums I've seen have pushed these well below their ohm rating sets a huge point for the durability of these amps. Don't do this if you don't know what you are doing and don't want a possible failure. I am looking to put a JP95 in my Ford Maverick because the power to price ratio is amazing. Even after playing at high volumes near clipping for 30 minutes, the highest temp I EVER saw was 126 degrees. The amp was mounted under my seat on 1/2” risers to allow air flow under the amp for the fan. LOVE the JP amps and eventually will be buying more!!! Thanks JP!!!!!

I do have a question though, how do these amplifiers operate under a smart charging alternator system? (i.e. when voltage fluctuates between 12.5v - 14.2v while driving like most newer cars these days) I disabled my battery management system for now so I'm charging at a constant 14v but I'm genuinely curious as to how the amplifier would handle the voltage fluctuations? I'll say this. JP is the only person addressing any issue like this anywhere really. People don't realize, there are only a hand full of companies that make car audio components. Companies like JP go to these companies and put their name on it. D4S just chooses from a line the company likes. Then the real company that makes the amp or whatever. Just puts the name on it. It's possible that D4S amps and Memphis amps come from the same company. I just chose Memphis as an example.

Been buying amps from D4S for over a year and these crush my subs and push my mids with no issues. Been trying to find any reason to upgrade and they are still running great but when I down upgrade it’s going to be another D4S amp. My only regret from this purchase is not selecting the autograph option at this point 😂

First off i love my jp23v1.5.....best amp i have owned since the mid 90s when i owned a punch 150 .....i run an american bass xr 12 dual 2 2400 peak ....and have to keep the gain on the jp turned down just under half way ....because the sub cant handle any more power ....and i run it full tilt a lot ....and i have never seen over 120 degrees .....i do usually have the window down ....in my 98 s10 extended cab ....and i do have the amp mounted with half in spacers so air can flow under the amp.....and i do have upgraded alternator....big 3 ...frame grounds and 0 guage .....and it may go out next time i turn it on but almost a year in now and its been flawless ....even in the hottest of a tennessee summer .....i would guess most people having trouble have the amp mounted where it cant get good air flow around it ....run it at too low a ohm load ....or bad electrical ....i wouldnt hesitate to buy another jp series amp ....probably will eventually add another 12 and another jp23v1.5...anyways just my opinions and facts about my usage and experiences

Posting on Social Media is the quickest way to get a response. If you don't want them going to X, you have to have lightening fast email responses. Even then, if I have an issue I'm going to share the problem. Some companies are really good at handling issues, some blatantly lie and expect you not to realize 1+1=2. I had a 3d printer company not respond to emails about a hot end failure. It was an issue from assembly and the failure happened 3 times. The owner got pissy when I tweeted about it and said that no one else had an issue with them. He had no response to why the part that failed and needed replaced was LITERALLY the only part out of stock! Thank God for E3D V6's!

Hi jp I have the jp 234 & jp 84 they great amplifiers. I always use 3/4 inch nylon spacers to create space & bolt them.On any amplifier also I add 2 small fans on bottom plate of amplifier. Make circle cut out exact for 12v fan to fit in or out the amplifier bottom plate . Finally attach the 12v fan to amplifier remote so it's on when amplifier is on then off when amplifier is off .Finally add 1 amperage fuse to fan from amplifier remote just to keep within electrical code 😊. That's how you keep your amplifier running for long time. That's a great explanation jp keep the good work

.5% of 1/2 million is 2500. The small percentage will still be a large enough number to seem bad ,, but it’s quite the opposite..nothing is perfect .. and most installations are less than ideal conditions. I DO NOT consider myself a JP fan BUT I am a fan of the JP amps build quality, innovation and value. My next amp will be a JP amp as long as their standards remain where they are or greater.

So I got a question my man. I live in California and it can get pretty hot here in the summer too and I’ve had other branded amps cut out music temporarily and stop playing bass during those hot summer days. Most of that is my own fault, I’ll admit, as the the user im the main contributor to the equipments failure during those extreme hot summer days when I know better than to max them out but I still do lol. But I’ve never had a class d 4 channel amp. This is going to be my first. Is it going to work at moderate to high volumes If mounted in the factory amp location behind the Carpets of my bmw for majority of the year ? I can understand the summer months can be brutal on aftermarket electronics but if I’m replacing the Oem amp I want to be sure the replacement will out perform the original and remain out of sight and still work during moderate to high volumes within reason?

Well I will find out, just ordered a JP13. I'm driving two low profile 12" subs at 1ohm. My Hifonics Zeus handled them for 1.5 years before taking a poo. New Hifonics is definitely not as good as the old school VII amps. I had a series VII Boltar that drove Kicker comp 15's at 2 ohm for 5 years when I was a teenager then sold my blazer. Wish I had that old school amp back! I read good reviews and watched some great dyno videos for D4S. Hope this amp lives up to those videos and ratings!

I have 2 V1 JP23s that’s been strapped at 2ohm since purchase and never had any issues. They have clean power and external fans. I have a JP33 wired at 1 ohm since day one and no issues. Also a JP77 and same story ZERO issues. All on clean power and kept cool. No issues. Typically people that wire in the dirt have temp issues also that put in an area with no ventilation. I’m by no means a JP super-fan but I have enjoyed the fresh product selection and great colors.

Two reasons an amp overheats improper wiring and not venting. Two washers under one side and I've never been able to get over 86 degrees in 60 degree weather I've taken a 8 hour road trip full tilt under clip and never overheated. Most stout line of amps ever! Love my JP13

I have a JP23v2 mounted under a false floor in my spare tire well and the hottest I ever saw it get was 151 deg F at a car show in Arizona. I honestly couldn't believe that it never went into protect, but I have active temperature cooling using an SMD TM-1 and 4 PC cooling fans. Also, the false floor above the amps sits on rails that have holes drilled through them to allow rising heat to escape. Works like a charm! Currently wired @ .75 ohms, rising to between .9 and 1.1 ohms. Peak is 4 ohms @ 43Hz. I have the gain turned down to about 3K, otherwise my sub's voice coil kisses the backplate! I LOVE THIS AMP!

This may sound dumb.... but why do you not build a product that solves these issues for the average dork that wants good sound? Like build the amp with enough stand off to allow the proper airflow, and then maybe further with one with cooling fins, a shade, and a fan to force cooling? Like it seems counter intuitive to give this advice but noy build it into your own products. Am I wrong?

He may do that I. The future , but you can be sure these type of people don't accept any accountability for their install. They buy jp amp because they know it's probably the greatest amp out there but they refuse to do upgrades to assure proper function . Should jp require people to show a recipt that they have an upgraded alternator. Or no sale? No of course not!! His job is to sell a good product and give the best advice for usage , it's up to you as a buyer to do the necessary steps or you more than likely will have problems. Who are these people consulting with before undertaking such a build
