Great box! Played everything twice and man they are all great pressed. Standout for me was Monk’s Music and Monk by 5.

Monk is my all time favorite jazz musician and I've written about him many times on KZfaq. My 3 favorite Monk albums are Thelonious Himself, Brilliant Corners and Monk's Music. Then Five By Monk By Five. So IMO his Riverside recordings show Monk at his creative peak. I have some of these when Acoustic Sounds issued them on two 45rpm albums. Must say I did not care for the stereo version of Monk's Music in that series and much prefer the mono that I picked up on an OJC reissue from the master tapes.

Although I love Monk's music, I'm not interested in those vinyls boxes, I think those are very, very expensive. I prefer vinyls in good gatefold edition with photos. Best regards for you Matthew, from Madrid, Spain.

I have the ‘98 release which was $250 when it came out. It was pressed at RTI instead of QRP and had individual jackets for each album and the accompanying booklet. 26 years later, the boxset is reissued at the same price but released with sleeves instead of jackets. Kudos to AP keeping the cost the same after all those years. Yes, it’s at the sacrifice of the jackets, but this could have easily been a $500 boxset. The pressings are amazing and it’s one of the most played sets in my collection. I hope you enjoy yours for years to come. 🎶

It's a bit of a shame you don't get the jackets - seems a bit mean on the part of Acoustic Sounds.
