I have had the pleasure of staying at this establishment. You are made to feel as if it is your home not a hotel. I will never forget my stay ever. It was a special moment in a garden with finches just landing on me actually thinking I was all alone. Then I got up and a staff member got on his knees and asked to hold my hands in his. What a moment for the two of us...we never saw each other again. I’ve stayed many times. Very Special magical holiday destination.

What a classy and nostalgic hotel. I'd love to stay there someday. I can't believe it's "inside" Bangkok. I'd probably feel as if I'm hundreds of miles away from the capital while experiencing the stay. A real "retreat" from the hustle and bustle of Bangkok ! Merci for uploading this wonderful video.

The boat when it leaves Siam is awesome with the background music & when I listen to that music I always recall you saying the plane from the Saudi dry mountains is coming into Europe's snow capped mountains

We have stayed here a few times, and loved it each time. The property is beautiful, with little surprises all over. The staff are truly amazing. Travel along the river in their private launch is a great way to travel through Bangkok. You have done the property justice with this comprehensive video!

I loved the Siam when I stayed. Amazing service, and is truly a oasis paradise in Bangkok. They also have amazing cooking classes and an awesome boutique with products for great causes (such as save the elephants). The vinyl room was my favorite hangout spot. They had the original Star Wars soundtrack which I had to play 😂

Hey doc. It's been ages since I saw your travel videos. The Siam is awash in white and its sober and opulent interiors made me realise how much I missed watching your vlogs. The music is apt and the whole resort is so fancy. Maybe the first place to visit after vaccination.❤️

Someone questioned my comments from your review of the beachside resort at Phuket some 3/4 weeks ago, when I stated that I felt it lacked any sort of ambience. This is what I alluded to. Although this hotel is not very old, it has that sort of understated elegance that I like, and is somewhere I could happily spend some down time in. It may not suit everyone, but to someone of my age, it is a place I could happily stay at.

Lived in Thailand for a while and went up and down the river a few times. Although the river is quite dirty there are some very amazing sights besides it. Never noticed this hotel though.

Superb interior design, I love the black and white scheme. The bedroom is gorgeous. Just the tub, am afraid once in I wouldn’t be able to get out, but of course beautiful. And like all documentary shows you do not have the heat, the humidity, the mosquitoes etc, and all the steps to reach all the places inside the hotel. Great job to show us this and all the other outstanding places and bravo for your skills to play “cache-cache” wirh us ! Btw, the lady on the boat is charming, if she is sharing this trip with you you are a lucky man. Just wondering, do you really eat all that by yourself on the same meal or do you ask for filming from other guests dishes ?

Ooooh...aaaahhhh, this is luscious. Although like you, I prefer a more understated elegance a la Aman or Four Seasons, The Siam makes up with serenity what it importunes with kitschy collectibles. And as always, I compliment your content-maker virtuosity. I'm a sucker for good architectural/horticultural set pieces, and you exploit them so artfully. They punctuate your videos like gently unfolding discoveries. The Siam is especially rich in them; the courtyard, the atrium, the garden beyond the Vinyl Room, the pool, the river decks, garden vistas. In my travel daydreams I know I'll be arriving at The Siam by boat, at least for a while, until another of your videos captures my imagination. Thanks!

Great video as usual, if only emptied of people, as usual ! I am not sure about staying in that sort of place; it looks deprived of warmth, a bit too much over the top if you know what Imean, a bit too much "designer" ! It's very beautiful all the same and credit must be given to all who made it happened. I stayed at the Oriental Hotel in Bangkok in the late 60's before the expansion it went thru and that was lovely. I stayed at Raffles Singapore before the renovations and I enjoyed it very much. It was old fashion, quiet and very confortable, although food and drinks were so expensive one had to think twice before indulging. I actually see traces of Rafles in the Siam .. I love going to Thailand and I would certainly enjoy the private boat on the river. Last time I stayed at the "Muse", a boutique hotel, and that was great except that dining in the downstairs restaurant was poor value for money. Fortunately there was a restaurant nearby !

The hotel looks stunning but the room sounded really noisy. Was it loud when you were there or did the camera just pick-up a bad moment?

I stayed in a villa January 2019 and was amazed. My wife and I watched the NFL AFC Championship game in the Screening Room within the library. 6am and made possible with extraordinary effort by the staff who seem to be in the business of extraordinary. My favorite hotel on the planet, and I don’t love Bangkok in particular.

Great video as usual. The Siam looks very nice indeed and is an oasis in itself within Bangkok. The only thing i didnt like from what you showed us were that breakfast. It was a joke in my opinion. If you are ranked as topnotch hotel in Bangkok you expect Everything to be therafter aswell.

I like and appreciate all the historic information that you include in your videos. Personally, I am not a fan of art Deco. So this place doesn't particularly appeal to me. I’d like it if you can specify if the pool is heated or what temperature it reaches, as I have been known to pick one establishment over another just based on this criteria. If we are in a hot destination we must be able to use the pool, it must have the chill taken off . This is why we never pay for plunge pools, they are usually ice baths

I stayed there last August. Very nice and beautiful -- the most beautiful hotel i've ever stayed in by far. Truly feels exclusive; taxi cab drivers seem kind of shocked when you ask them to take you to the Siam at the end of the night. It's rare to see any other guests, in my experience. If you want tranquility and lack of contact then choose this hotel -- i'd say this is a great hotel if you're famous and want to avoid the common people. I like a hotel with more people around and some commotion.

To any discerning travelers reading this, I just stayed at the Siam at while it is a 5 star hotel with regards to Bangkok and a lot of cities, it is not some magical urban oasis. The interior design of the lobby is pretty cool and the staff is great (but that goes for anywhere in Thailand), but rooms were kind of dirty and had HORRENDOUS fixtures. The lights had visible holes in the wall around them, the sink faucets were loose and would swivel around when using them, there were scratches and chipped paint everywhere. All of that is manageable and I doubt Bangkok has many better alternatives, but it is good to set expectations when spending that much money at what is supposed to be a 5 star resort. Also the food there, while edible, was the worst food of our whole trip.
