A local shopping center reached out to us after a delivery driver backed into a hand railing and sped off, and we love to fix things here at Lift Arc! However, some jobs aren't always as easy as they appear at first glance. Heating and reshaping metal can be tricky to do right, so follow along as Tay endeavors to get this thing back together and reinstalled!

I just got finished working on 2 hand forged fire pit pokers. they are being delivered this weekend. Happy 4th of July. Wowers that's definitely was hit real hard. Tay very nice job repairing it. Can't wait to see more videos soon my friends. Fab On. Weld on. Keep making. God bless.

I had an old coworker that was amazing with oxy/acetlyeen, a bucket of water and a rag. He taught me how to straight out steel without the use of force by heating and cooling in the right places but he really was a master in it. Even a 2 feet diameter pipes that had a slight bow due to welding something on one side he could straighten out by eye in about 3 or 4 heats on specific spots. Obviously this does need a bit of manual persuasion to straighten it. Would say about 4 hours of shop rate, 50 bucks for paint, 25 for gas fill and time for picking it up plus placing it back would be what I would estimate for something like this, coming out at around 375 euro's at what I consider a decent bid (without picking it up because I dont know the distance)

Love your channel man! Good luck the rest of the way on the railing! Looking forward to seeing it finished and installed. I’m currently working on a 24” tripod riser and 24” platform for the camera operator to sit/stand on.

I just hung a new tool board up tonight and I’ll be working on organizing and hanging the tools I need tomorrow. That’s the project I’m working on finally.

I know you don't want to broadcast your billing on YT, but I am curious what you billed for this. An 8 foot section of cap rail and a couple of lambs tongue ends costs less than $50 (NY metro prices). I'm sure you're billing more than that per hour and this looks like you've already got several hours into this. Don't get me wrong, am enjoying the content, but always wonder about the numbers behind this stuff. Enjoy your holiday weekend!

I billed 400 total, being that there are no new parts and just labor, none of it was taxed. And they specifically requested me to repair this one instead of replace. I could have definitely built a new one, maybe save the legs, but i was excited about the challenge, used to do this kind of thing at my old job all the time working with 300 year old wrought iron panels.
