bumblebeeeoptimus Well it's like they want Jack to go retrieve the chalices which means him jumping into the river. Jack is naturally afraid the fall will kill him, whereas Angelica is concerned about him not returning and offers to instead. But Blackbeard threatens to kill her if Jack doesn't go and return, and to prove his point coaxes Jack to play Russian roulette with Angelica either until she dies or he gives in, and we're sort of drawn away from the fact that all they're trying to do is get Jack to go and find the chalices. Such lines like- "If you're so keen on killing her, why don't you just let her jump?" "If you jump, and die, then she will have her chance." -make you wonder what the hell they're trying to achieve exactly. It makes sense but it doesn't make sense at the same time and I think that's what makes it so funny.

Barbossa coming back to life in the second one is an example of one of the worst and laziest storytelling concepts...executed perfectly! By far one of my favorite scenes of the entire franchise featuring the return of my favorite character! Btw I'm the same guy ^

Well I mean the writing is lazy, like when Family Guy killed off Brian and brought him back (killjoys). But these movies did it twice and it was just perfect! Pirates of the age of exploration are already sort of associated with some level of mysticism, and COTBP exercised that concept brilliantly with the curse of the Aztec gold, and that certainly left the window open for other supernatural twists like resurrecting characters.

At the end of this scene we can tell that Black Beard is lying to Angelica when he says he knows which guns were loaded. He really doesn’t care if she lives or dies, and this fact is only solidified when he makes it very clear that Angelic will be the victim that the fountain claims and he will be the one that it saves.

That's why he's the most evil character in the Pirates of the Caribbean series, in my opinon. Barbossa's an anti-hero and a bad-ass, Jones is tormented by losing his love, and Beckett is just doing what he has to do. Blackbeard is just pure evil.

Funfact: here you can see jack actually carrying around his moms head. His dad left it behind for him after the bar scene at the beginning after the london escape. In that scene, after he vanishes, you can see he left the head on the table. Jack carried it with him for the rest of the movie. Great continuity detail

Our Family is so happy for Johnny and his Family. The Jury absolutely made the correct verdict. Whatever happens to Amber Heard and her career is on her. She lied about all of this and knew saying what she accused him of would ruin his life and career. Again we are overjoyed for this verdict!!

Considering that the film is based on what we loved about Jack Sparrow, and that every move of his was calculated which was proven at the start of the movie when he escaped from the King's guards, it is not far fetched to say that Jack Sparrow's actions here were motivated to release the doll from the possession of Blackbeard. That's how I interpret this scene.

This is really a great scene :) Johnny Depp truly shines in Stranger Tides. Some expertly delivered one liners and his agility is on display with these stunts. The walking across the street/atop horse drawn wagons was particularly engaging. I find myself thinking of dear Johnny Depp during this tumultuous time for him -- what with his divorce and all. It is a true shame that a cruel person is hellbent on stealing his earnings-earnings that Mr. Johnny Depp made all on his own-and now that person just comes along and tries to take him to the cleaners. It's just not right--not in any way. I remember reading an Interview with Penelope Cruz about filming, "Stranger Tides," with Johnny Depp. She was pregnant while filming, and she told the Interviewer that Johnny Depp is so caring and considerate especially of her Pregnancy. That he watched over her and even asked many times if she should be "doing this scene due to her Pregnancy," because Johnny Depp really CARES! I know this has turned into a 1 woman Love Letter to Mr. Johnny Depp Lol 😎! Truly though, He needs his Fans around him. Johnny! Get all your Fans around you now! Look smart :) You've always been a Good chap! You are Loved 💖💫🍀 and always will be in my eyes and many others as well. You are a Truly Beloved Star 💐🏆💫~

As much of a buffoon Jack is, I always liked to think he knew exactly which pistols were loaded, being a pirate and seaman with pretty much a lifetime of experience; somehow he could tell if they were loaded from looking at the pan (for powder) or by feeling the weight. Hence his comical demonstration with the second pistol by waving it around before discharging it into the air. I like to think he knew it was loaded before he even picked it up.

No, real mermaids wouldn't be able swap out their tail out for magic legs. They would also most likely not be able stay underwater indefinitely, as they would most likely be marine mammals, looking at their very human top half. ^^

Nice detail , Jack only picks up and fires the second pistol after he sees Blackbeard is serious and gets lucky by not killing Angelica with the first shot.

I love how Blackbeard doesn't flinch when Jack misfires one of the two loaded pistols--it's possible that BB did this to some of his victims, once or twice. If so, then he's TRULY cold-blooded! 0w0
