160 win Jin here, so you KNOW I know what I’m talking about (I don’t). I believe it’s used for a mixup, especially after knockdown. The threat of electric vs hellsweep is powerful, so to avoid getting electriced a lot of people respect it, at least for a moment. It’s not *real* pressure in neutral but it’s scary. The issue is, like you said, you can get minked out of it. Which makes it apparently useless below purple ranks because people below it aren’t going to respect it for a moment. So at the point it’s “I’m wave dashing, bitch. Do something about it” more than anything actually technically helpful

You condition people to respect by doing electrics out of wavedash or wave dash into block, when they start freezing when you're wavedashing you start mixing up. Most online Mishimas don't do this conditioning part and wavedash at their opponents face just to flex, kinda like doing electrics full screen away.

I think one is to realign with your opponent. Next is for mixups but you dont just do it until you have mixed your opponent before. So more of mind games.

Wavedashing does indeed kill your guard, but being able to simply jab out of the pressure isn't feasible. For one, a crouch dash could end up evading the jab (unless it's a jab string, I suppose), but it's also that you gotta factor in some reaction time to the situation. If they do a couple fast crouch dashes and you jab you won't interrupt it in time, unless you're able to predict it. It is a pressure tool, but it is also very overrated. Fun to do, though. A couple crouch dashes is most you will need to spice up your timing, you might as well just dash in your opponents face otherwise.

Firstly: wavedash won't work at all in low ranks because they keep mashing all the time. Secondly: you can think of wavedash like a zen(Jin's stance) mixup, you can hit Jin with a 13 frames fast mid to beat all his options, but if you didn't do that in time then you will have to guess because his options vary in speed, the start of the wavedash is like that, if they didn't react to it at first then they will have to wait and guess if their attack will be faster/won't get crushed or not.
