Paul is one of the best characters to get streaks with, has simple tools, one of the "lets play real tekken" kind of character, has answers for everything. The way how Mainman analyzes his opponent turns Paul into a real monster giving them no chance to win unless their skills are equal or higher than his

It's 100% the hair, it used to hit so hard but now he just looks lame tbh. They could have returned to old serious paul or kept the funny hair paul, instead they picked lame paul smh.

@@MWToTheC same today was about to promo to shinryu but got put with a flame ruler azucena, still learning the matchup, my impression is that most azucena players in intermediate and beginner are all offense using their strings and mixups, counter all that and you can beat her more easily

I assume they are mashing either jab or 1+2, but that command throw requires a 2 press which few characters tend to mash, I guess.

Its funny. Ive never been a Paul main, but have always played him as a pocket. Ive done the best in ranked with him so far and idk why? Anyone else have this experience? And im not playing bummy with lots of demoman deathfist mix. Maybe its my time with Paul lol. Sick matches TMM you got a hell of a run with Paul 🎉❤

Couple of things. One is Paul in Tekken 8 is good. Heat works for him nicely and they clearly gave the character a lot of tuning and attention generally. Two is there is a lot of new blood that might be feeding the ranks. Three the longer we play the better we get at the tekken knowledge checks and a veteran paul always has been a potent scrubkiller.

but never forget paul is super honest and not cheap and is legacy and he needs demo man aka unseeable low launcher(s) and a fist attack that kills you in one hit and pushes you so far back you cant punish it (sometimes) but he is super honest so he has evasion like xiaou when he is a tower of a man more muscle than blood but he is super hones

Paul is definitely a character that'll carry you in mid ranks if you play him a certain way, in that sense he's like Victor. Gameplay wise, he's a mixture of Feng and Kazuya with a throw game. 50/50 based, nonstop button pressing with seemingly invincible moves, and all paul players play the same like with Feng. Factor in Paul having an easy mode guard break now and he becomes quite easy to cheese your way to victory. I find it easier to fight character like Hwo than Paul. The gameplan is to consistently challenge Hwo in his pressure with crushing moves as only his highs and lows can keep it going, and constantly side step if when you have some distance . As for Paul, I haven't found a solid strategy. His 50/50 mix up isn't as telegraphed as Kazuya's, making it more of an 25/75. The best thing I came up with is patience and figuring out punishment knowledge in practice mode.

There is not a lot to learn about Paul in practice mode in my opinion... You can practice throw breaks or to jab interrupt the guard break. But except that the most important thing is to keep him far away and never try to block lows on the heat engager... Better to take 3 Demo man in row than one heat deathfist

Steve is one of the most complicated characters, while being middle of the pack (he isnt the worst but definitely not among the best) also, aside from being complicted, he is also unique in multiple aspects, whis adds to him being complicated but also not intuitive as well when you combine those 3 things, you really need to be master to make him work
