How to overcome the pains
@TheMaternityMentor
@TheMaternityMentor 3 жыл бұрын
@@clacyexclusivechannel1861 Take time and rest often! Pushing our bodies increases the pain. At the same time, movement is key to recovery. Mothers should focus on their own recovery and taking care of their baby. This provides the right balance of rest and movement. Taking care of the baby doesn't mean cooking, cleaning, or washing the dishes. It means feeding the baby, holding the baby, putting the baby to sleep. This should last for at least 4 weeks. Get help from friends and family for the house stuff! Also, take the pain medication. Mothers are afraid the medication is bad for their baby. The medication is safe and will not harm baby.

What about after having 3rd c-section plus having a toddler
@princessamber18

I’ve had 4 c sections and the best advice I can give it to walk when they tell you to. I didn’t do it as much as I should have the first 2 and then finally I did it “even though it was very painful at first” with the 3 and 4 and omg it made a huge difference in how quickly I healed and was able to do stuff! When you first stand up you’ll notice it’s hard to breathe and you can’t stand upright… that’s normal! Just push through a walk as much as possible and it will help a ton! With my 4th I walked a ton since it helped so much with my 3 and I was amazed at how quickly I was back to normal! Congrats on the new baby mommas! You’ve got this :) 🎉❤

I didn’t walk a lot the first two days at the hospital, but once I got home after that I walked quite a bit. I may have even pushed myself a little too hard at times, especially if I didn’t wear that belly band thing they gave me. I wore out super fast without it. I also feel my recovery wasn’t too bad and it probably had at least a little to do with how much I made myself walk. I did chores and tried to keep my house clean, but I was also stressed out about how much mess my parents were making while they stayed with us. I’m not a clean freak by any means, but the amount of dishes and untidiness that would accumulate pretty quickly added to my stress. I love my parents, but I was ready for them to leave well before they did.

The protocol at my hospital as of now because of the opioid crisis only does a spinal block and Tylenol. I’m delivering by c section in two months and I’m shaking in my boots 🙈 when I had my first child ten years ago I delivered vaginally and had oxycodone for the pain and I thought it was difficult then! I’ve never had major surgery without pain medicine, but I guess this experience will help me grow and my baby boy will help me through the pain. It’s all gonna be worth it 🙏

I have yet to speak to my doctor, but I was wondering about mothers who are prone to getting UTI's and the use of a catheter? I had a catheter inserted during my tear repair with my previous birth and had gotten a UTI from it. I've been UTI prone my whole life and have gotten them easily. I am preparing for a c-section with my current pregnancy, although am concerned about a catheter being inserted in my bladder for that long and being higher risk for infection.

The two things I found worst after c-section that were not covered in the video were: 1) The shivers after c-section: they started in a couple hours after the surgery; I was clanking my teeth so bad and there was nothing I could do about it. 2) The uterine massage after the surgery: when a nurse so suddenly and so forcefully pushed down on my uterus I screamed in pain. Also, instead of ice chips they let me have rise-hip juice. And wouldn't let me hold my baby until 8 hours after, when I could walk and was transferred to a regular room. Also, I was so thirsty and hungry shortly after the surgery.

I'm watching your video just for me to have an idea about my c section, thank you for sharing this information ☺️

The worst part for me is the spinal right before c section, I have narrowing between my vertebrae they put this thin gauge needle to "numb you" before the spinal,well it definitely never does for me & then once they stick me with actual spinal needle then they literally dig all around in my spine because they have trouble getting it into proper place, this hell is HORRIBLE & barbaric, usually goes on for 10-15 mins straight then it's in, then I get terrible migraines for days afterwards because of my spinal fluid leaking, I've requested an ultrasound as they place my spinal & they always tell me "we don't do that" definitely never having another baby after this 1 because I now suffer from nerve pain & damage.

I hemorrhaged after my emergency c section and the surgeon came in to "save me" by reaching her arm up thro my vagina into my uterus over and over to manually pull the clots that were causing the hemorrhage out. She then declared after 5 minutes of the worst pain i felt in my life that it wasn't working and I needed a D&C. WHY DIDN'T SHE DO THAT IN THE FIRST PLACE? I certainly did not deserve to be held down and medically raped like that. Especially not after 36 hours of intense painful labor
@TheMaternityMentor
@TheMaternityMentor 2 жыл бұрын
I am so sorry to hear that happened to you. I have seen this "procedure" before. The reason to remove clots manually is because it is faster than a D&C and most of time time will stop the hemorrhage quickly. D&Cs also have risks attached. That being said, manually extracting clots is very painful, excruciating really. After having a cesarean section, it really can be brutal. The healthcare providers that I have witnessed perform this procedure took great care to explain to the patients what they were going to do. They also advised that it would be painful. Finally, they also gave the option for other treatments. Your healthcare provider should have done that. I am so sorry that you were forced to endure a procedure that didn't solve the issue at hand - your hemorrhage. I wish I had words that could make you feel better but I don't. I hope that you experience healing both mentally and physically. Sending you lots of love and light.

This happened to me as well, but after natural birth. I hemorrhaged after giving birth and my midwife said I had blood clots sitting in my uterus that she had to get out. I was so sore after pushing out my baby and it was excruciating. I was begging her to stop and was crying but she told me she had to do it to help me. I know she felt bad, but I know she had to. I bared through the pain, but it was truly terrible. Kind of traumatic honestly, and I'm a bit more fearful of birth because of the pain.

I’m just trying to figure out why you can’t immediately do skin to skin after a c section but you can while pushing ? When the baby is still coming from the same place
@TheMaternityMentor
@TheMaternityMentor 2 жыл бұрын
You can do skin to skin. My hospital offers it in the operating room. The only reason not to do skin to skin is if baby or mom are unstable. The positioning is slightly different because surgery is still taking place. When the surgery is finished, they need to remove the baby so they can safely transfer you to a new bed. However, once you are in your recovery room, you should be able to resume skin to skin.

@TheMaternityMentor
@TheMaternityMentor 2 жыл бұрын
General anesthesia works slightly differently than an epidural pain relief wise. Epidural and spinal medications often continue to remain effective for several hours after surgery. For most general anesthesia surgeries, you will have a PCA or patient controlled analgesia pump. This is an IV pump that will provide some continual small doses of pain medication as well as the ability for you to press a button for some additional medication as needed. The hospital may also give you medication by mouth. These are all safe for breastfeeding. Everything else is pretty much the same once you wake up from anesthesia. Good luck tomorrow. If you can, please like my video and subscribe to my channel. It really helps me out! Thanks!

@TheMaternityMentor
@TheMaternityMentor 2 жыл бұрын
@@Mizzburlesque I completely understand. The pain is harder with general anesthesia. Just remember to take the pain medication. Don't tough it out. I always tell my patients to ask for pain medication when they reach a 5 on the 0-10 scale (0 is no pain, 10 is the worst you ever felt). If I medicate you at a 5, I am more likely to get you down to a 1 or 2. If you wait until 8, 9, or 10, pain medication will only bring you to around a 5 which isn't fun. All pain medication offered in the hospital is safe for breastfeeding.

Thanks for asking! You should not have felt anything while you were being stitched up. It sounds like your anesthesia was not strong enough. Well, in Slovakia, there is no possibility to have somebody with you in operation room (as in Japan). Also no skin to skin - just "cheek to cheek" for few seconds, and saying quick hi to partner/ONE person, who was waiting outside the room. (It is also due to the communist buildings architecture). Then mother goes to intensive care unit for few ours and baby goes with nurse to postpartum floor... The baby can try to breastfeed once for a while, when nurse will come with him (not naked at all), but that' s it. Just when the mother is ready (usually after one day or so), she then take care of the baby - because there is circa 99% no possibility to have your partner in hospital with you... the breast feeding process is postponed and slower to come because of that and baby can have problems to adapt on breast sucking instead of injections drinking... Just saying - there can be worse than no gentle C-section, be happy with what you have (and also fight for better) ;) . But after all, everything can be good. ... be blessed ya all :)
