That sounds like a track crew problem. Check gage. Install gage bars as required. In putting the cars away at Swanton Pacific one could not get the 1912 up next to the car barn on track one without dropping the pilot truck on the ground. The 1914 could go into Track one without a problem. That was an articulation problem on the pilot truck linkage. They are different. It was fun putting the cars away, and most people missed the show. One can watch it here on KZfaq.

Another excellent episode. San Antonio has had a miniature railroad for years. When I was a child there were two trains running, a steam locomotive similar to the one here and a more "modern" F7 looking engine with open streamlined passenger cars. Both of those were retired in the late 80s or early 90s and two newer trains replace them, both steam replicas. Ha! We've even got a tunnel!!!

A great video Santee! I was lucky growing up in that NC has a western theme park called "Tweetsie Railroad" up in the mountains where they run a couple of old steam locomotives! The old west town even had a hoosegow with a locking cell. First time I got to see a staged gunfight. They also had a chair lift up to a prospectors section. Later on in life I stopped in Nevada City and Virginia City, Montana which had a steam train ride at the time. I guess my next stop will be the Durango and Silverton at sometime. Always fun to imagine riding west on these iron horses, and even with the smaller attraction trains still make it fun. Thank you again!

Good morning Arizona Ghost Riders. Your friend Ted here. Back in New York when I work part-time at a petting zoo on Long Island we had a gas powered train as well . I have working on it and helped to maintain it. Every so often the train would jump tracks and it was a pain in the ass to get back on . The name of the petting zoo was the Long Island Game Farm. It was a pretty decent sized petting zoo with lots of exotic animals and I got to play with all of them, even the ones I didn't like. Stay safe my friend

Been a fan of trains since I was a kid (about 6). Where I grew up, Western Washington, the town of Anacortes had a small steam engine train (hand built from an old copper boiler someone found) that ran on some track rescued from a logging operation. it has a turn table at each end. They stopped running it when the man who built it passed on. Here in Fairbanks, AK we have a little train at Pioneer Park.

Santee, there is a family owned business in Strasburg, Co. Uhrich Locomotive that specializes in “grand scale” model trains. They manufacture locomotives and rolling stock, mainly for the amusement park industry. That make both live steam as well as gasoline powered models. One of their creations is in Tiny Town Co. And another is in Lakeside Amusement Park in Denver, I believe these are both live steam. I had the opportunity to visit their facility several years ago. On that day they tested a model of D&RGW’s K27 live steam, what a beautiful product!

I'm actually looking forward to going to a Western theme park at some point that's in North Carolina....it's like 3 hours from where I live. It's called Tweetsie Railroad, and they do themed rides for Halloween and Christmas, they also use two actual steam powered trains at the park...sure it's meant for families but my old beloved Ghost Town In the Sky theme park my family used to go to closed down years ago and I've been desperate to get just a taste of that feeling for decades now so I'm willing to look outta place as a 30+ year old man going to the park by myself lol.

In Poway (North/East San Diego, Ca) they have a park with a couple of real trains from the 1800s (Steam powered). They were someone’s personal trains. They each have an extra passenger car. They also have some real coal carrying cars that had benches added. I used to take my kids there every week. It was only like 50 cents to ride the train around the park (the park was circled with a train track)

We have a few full sized locomotives and cars here in North Carolina. Tweetsie Railroad has one or two, and the Great Smoky Mountain Railroad has some. They are steam engines but have been converted from wood to diesel to boil the water for the steam. There is another one somewhere here in NC that we used for a reenactment. I don't remember exactly where at the moment. I believe it might be in the Durham area. It was nice to see a full train of Confederate troops heading to do battle with the yankee invaders. Have a great week from your pal, the Rebel Outlaw.

Here's some trivia... Golden Spike National Historic Site (where the transcontinental railroad met) had a replica Southern Pacific Jupiter and Union Pacific No. 119 built for the site in 1979. They're complete replicas, blowing steam and sparks, lol. They built the locomotives, but all the pictures of the trains were in Black and White, with no descriptions of the colors they were painted. So they contacted the Disney Company, who had running trains in their parks. It was Disney who created the color schemes for the trains that are at the Historic Site today. If you're ever near Salt Lake City in Utah, stop in at Promontory Point. I think they still run the trains daily. If you're a trail enthusiast, it's a must see...

I live right across the road from Roaring Camp which is a gin-u-wine steam engine that runs on a railroad that go deep into the redwoods. There are wooden trestles and big, old growth redwoods. It also has a train that goes from the Beach Boardwalk in Santa Cruz to home base with old stores and historical buildings. There are festivals and re-enactments every year. I got to meet and talk to Col. Fremantle, the British observer at Gettysburg, and Abraham Lincoln. The actor was actually related to Old Abe and we both agreed that his assassination was a bad thing and should never have happened. Since I grew up in MS I don't think he expected that. I also get to listen to the steam whistles every day, which I actually enjoy. Yes, Santee, it was a long road getin' here but I do live in God's country. Check it out some time.
