Disclaimer: We did our best to use layman's term explanations for the sake of the show. If anyone finds what they think are errors in an explanation of a certain scientific idea, we can clarify at a later date, but please keep in mind the effort to provide a general overview and general explanation of complex things. Please see the natural science resources linked for further information.
Clarification. Thomas Malthus life spanned across that of Darwin’s grandfather and father, and was also a well known academic, with similar views. Whether they were personal friends or not is not evident, but it is plausible to assume they moved in similar academic and political circles. Darwin did certainly find great inspiration in Mathus’ writings.
Also, Kennedy had confused the timing of Charles Lyell’s life as he was thinking of James Hutton, who lived before Darwin and contributed greatly to the ideas that buttress evolutionary theory.
