Michael Govan on Michael Heizer

Michael Govan, director, Los Angeles County Museum of Art, and previously president and director of the Dia Art Foundation. Govan's subject is artist Michael Heizer, four of whose sculptures can be seen outdoors at the Menil Collection. This is the inaugural lecture of the Marion Barthelme Lecture Series, established in memory of the late Marion Barthelme Fort (1944-2011).

NYT had an excellent article (8/19/2022), with lots of photos and videos, announcing the completion of “City” - Govan is cited for his work to keep the project going. So glad to see this lecture.
