This park looks like it was built in a Roller Coaster Tycoon scenario where you have limited space and don't care about the theming. All the rides are intertwining and very close to each other. Those woodies looked pretty fun to ride too! It's a shame the park has closed.

Used to go to the Saturday night dances at Indiana Beach when I was a kid during the early 60's. The Hawthorne community center in Indy would arrange bus transportation for those that wanted to go. Wonderful memories.

I only wet to Indiana once. My personal favorite was Cornball Express (great airtime in the back and the "corniest" coaster name ever). I am sure Steel Hawg will end up in another park, hopefully in North America. I doubt the other woodies can be saved and the other steel coasters may end up in the third world somewhere.

Great video~ So sad that they are closing. For a small theme park they had great coasters. We went every summer at least once. I will miss the coasters and the "scary" shooting gallery. Their rides must have been built with good material because I never heard of anyone getting hurt there. Thanks, Indiana Beach, for all the good memories.

Reminds me a little bit of Gröna Lund. Only a little run down... I heard Apex really turned it around in the last couple years, but I think the beginning of the end for Indiana Beach was already underway. With Holiday World, Kings Island, and Cedar Point nearby, it didn’t enough to offer to make the drive up there worthwhile. Sad to see it go! I’m sure the surrounding community will hurt in its absence. :(

@brittanylawless6804 жыл бұрын
This park had Kings Island ticket prices, but most rides were rides you'd see at a fair with a handful of coasters thrown in. Most of the rides were shut down whenever you went, as they were either broken or the park was too understaffed.
@TJinPgh4 жыл бұрын
@@brittanylawless680 Really sad. Sounds like poor management. I'm in western PA. We have Waldameer, which doesn't look to be any bigger than this. Conneaut is a lot smaller but managed to reopen after being closed for 2 years. But those parks keep prices low.

Honestly went for the first time this year, IB doesn't have a bad coaster.... Hoosier Hurricane: Big fast out and back woodie with lots of easy floater airtime, perfect family ride. Cornball: Intense twister style layout with lots of airtime that will bring a smile to anyone Steel Hawg, great compact steel coaster with a nutty layout Tigger: Fun for everyone and very intense for its size Lost Coaster: If you don't likle this coaster...god hates you

Good news to anyone who sees this! Updates we received today shows that the town is still looking for a buyer so it isn't technically closed permanent yet. Reports have shown that there are 2 potential buyers, 1 who has been trying to reach out to Apex about making the purchase, and the 2nd potential buyer is Fun Spot America. The president of Fun Spot flew in to Indianapolis making the trip to Indiana Beach for a meeting to potentially purchase it! We still have hope!!! There is also going to be a meet up at Indiana Beach to try and save it!!
