In this video, Couple (Uthman & Marisol) react to BTS 'Who Are You' performance at the 2018 Melon Music Awards. Watching them perform live for the first time was absolutely amazing!
It is a different perspective when watching a music video (which we usually react to) compared to a live award show performance. And BTS killed it.
We are new to BTS and Kpop in general so we do not know much about it. Let us know what video we should react to next in the comment section below so we can become more of a fan!

This is how the members got into BTS: BigHit Entertainment, their company, holds yearly auditions. The very first member was Namjoon, who actually didn’t join properly through an audition. He was already active in the underground rap scene as a young teenager. Someone who knew the CEO of BigHit, Bang Sihyuk, told him about Namjoon and his talents of rapping and song writing, and RM eventually joined in 2010 at 15/16 years old. The name for the group that he became the first member of, BTS, had already been chosen, but there was no debut date for the group yet. The next two members to join were Yoongi and Hoseok, also in 2010. Yoongi joined through auditions (he was also in the underground rap scene). He originally joined with the intent of being a song writer/producer for the company, but quickly was placed into the lineup for BTS instead. Yoongi was 17. Hoseok was an underground dancer, and he had auditioned for one of the “Big 3” Korean entertainment companies beforehand called JYP Entertainment. That didn’t necessarily work out. At the time, JYP and BigHit had a contract together where they shared some artists and trainees (trainees are those who have been accepted into a company but have not yet debuted in a group). I think that’s how Hoseok ended up at BigHit in December 2010. He was 16. Jin and Jungkook were the next to arrive in 2011. Jin was 18 and in college, and he was studying acting/film. He actually was one of only 10% of applied students who were admitted to his program. He was scouted by a BigHit casting agent for his looks while being seen getting off a bus. (Jin graduated college in early 2017! If you’re wondering, Jungkook graduated high school in 2017 and is enrolled in an online college with the rest of the members as well). Jungkook was 13 when he joined in April 2011. He had auditioned for a Korean talent show (think of American Idol or The Voice) but didn’t make it past the first few auditions. However, many entertainment companies saw his audition tape and contacted him. Jungkook decided to join BigHit after seeing RM rap. 13-year-old Jungkook thought RM was cool. Next was Taehyung in 2011 as well. He was 15. His friend wanted to go to the BigHit audition in their town, but didn’t want to go alone, so Taehyung tagged along with him. Once there, the casting agents thought Taehyung was handsome, so they asked him if he’d audition as well. He said he couldn’t because he hadn’t gotten his parents permission (LOL). BigHit and he called his parents that moment and they allowed him. Taehyung ended up being the only person from his town/that particular audition to be accepted. The last member to join was Jimin in May 2012, who was 16. He had begun dancing in the 8th grade with hip-hop/popping, then changed to contemporary dance when he entered an arts high school as the top student of his year. He was encouraged by a teacher to audition for entertainment companies, so he auditioned for BigHit and made it. He actually almost didn’t make the final lineup of the group, but he pulled through. Thank God he did. The group name had been chosen, like I said, but there were other trainees under BigHit who were considered being a part of BTS before the lineup was finalized with the members we have today. Each member trained for up to three years in singing, rapping, dancing, language, acting, mannerisms, etc. before they officially debuted on June 13, 2013 (when they first started, they would practice for up to 12-14 hours a day!). All of the BTS members, by the way, are from all over Korea. They didn’t all live in Seoul, the capital. They came from all over. Some trainees dropped out, while one named Supreme Boi just stayed in BigHit as a song writer/producer (he has helped create many BTS songs, as well as vocally appears on the songs Cypher Pt.3 and Hoseok’s song Hansang). If you have KZfaq Red, I highly suggest watching the series Burn the Stage, which is an eight episode documentary of BTS. It’s very raw and vulnerable. Don’t react to it. First, you can’t, since it needs to be paid for. Second, just watch it on your own so you have your own appreciation for it. If you don’t have KZfaq Red, you can always find it uploaded for free online by fans 😂 You just have to search for it, lmao.

Yes, some BTS members auditioned to be trainees in their entertainment company (Big Hit Entertainment). Others were found different ways. What you totally wrong about is how prestigious that spot was. It actually wasn't all that great. The Band you see now is end result. At first there was way more trainees then them, but their company was small, new and had debts so to be trainees in such company wasn't prestigious place to be, quite opposite actually. So many trainees who were with BTS entertainment company left for better opportunities and living conditions. Some quit dream of becoming idols, at least one of them decided to stay as producer instead. Being part of future BTS was big deal among trainees in that company, because people competed with each other for the spot, but group that Big Hit Entertainment wanted to create with their trainees were seen as group that will be failure. There is 3 Big entertainment companies in S.Korea who have hands in all things related to entertainment Tv companies, radio stations and ect. Their trainees and groups they produce has way higher chances to be successful because those companies has money and connections to get them good gigs, tv appearances and ect. Some trainees and groups even manage become popular before even debuting. So you can Imagine, people who get to become trainees in those Big 3 companies is seen as most talented, because they managed to be casted despite humongous competition. BTS members on the other hand who sighed with such a small company at that time as Big Hit Entertainment were seen as someone who was not talented enough to get signed by Big 3. And basically seen as second grade goods. That was BTS start. Broke, in debt, looked upon as someone who will definitely fail so not worth a second glance or respectful behavior. All odds showed they will fail. Only they didn't. 😁 With all going against them they managed to persevere. It took them way longer to get some popularity then groups from Big 3 companies, but they worked their asses off and now they on the Top. Their success story is still dumbfounding case to Korean entertainment companies executives till this day. They studying BTS trying to replicate it. 😂

If you wanna know more about BTS’ origin I’d recommend: - Who is BTS: the 7 members of bangtan - BTS from nobodies to legends (pt. 1 +2) They give pretty dead and conclusive insight into the group since debut I’d also just like to say that no one knows how popular a group is going to be, unless they are a group formed under Korea’s big 3 entertainment companies (SM, YG, JYP), so while a bunch of people auditioned to be in BTS (mainly bc they were partnered with JYP at the time and had a major producer as their CEO) it wasn’t TOO many bc their company (BigHit) was a very small company with limited resources and minimal popularity. Also, it wasn’t until about 2-3 years into their careers that people TRULY began to recognize their talent and they began to receive accolades for them (beyond awards for being an up and coming rookie, or a group to look out for in the future) If you stuck around this far, thanks for reading this long behind comment 😂😂

Could you react to BTS 'Who is bts, the seven members of bangtan' and 'BTS from nobodies to legends. This will help you understand BTS as a group and individually. I love and respect BTS so much, their message of self-love encourages positivity and realising that in order to be happy, you need to love yourself. I have seen these videos recommended already, but I though , hey, might as well comment it again.

it was hard and competitive but all idol groups have to compete for their place in a group but tbh because our boys came from such a small company they didn’t get recognition in the beginning even when they fought for their place in the group it wasn’t the end of their struggles. Our youngest says when they finally debuted he thought wow the struggle was over , that they where good enough, but after debut he said he realised they where a small fish in a large ocean of talent and that was when he started to feel anxious. They work so damn hard to get to the place are when they same from nothing all seven living in one room, they made them selves and did so with discipline, hard work and passion.
@lauryn2868
@lauryn2868 5 жыл бұрын
Fer 094 I knew they where anxious before debut, it was horrendous, but in line with what I was saying like Kookie and many of the others thought finally when they debut the anxiety would disperse, but of course only after debut did the real anxiety kick in, to succeed, to do well, to stand out and be noticed. Like it was bloody battle royal for just to debut and then they where met with the reality that competition is rooted in the idol industry as it is in all industry. They realised you must compete to succeed and grow and hone your talent and that brought more desire and anxiety to succeed. The pressure and anxiety they feel now I feel is a whole other type of anxiety. Before it was anxiety to prove your self, anxiety to succeed, now they have succeeded the anxiety and pressure is that of expectation and the anxiety that expectation is much more heavy tbh

To explain, since their company was small they're(the company) are not that popular and there was definitley no extreme tryouts. Well, there were tryouts but I feel like not that many people tried out because their company was so small at the time and normally when a group joins an unknown company they have less of a chance of being successful because the 3 big company’s were big and if you joined that company because it was famous and well known so you would become famous. So I guess that fact plays into how many people could have audition but people did audition and some didn’t make it. For example, V (BTS member) accompanied his friend to support him and a staff member thought he was so attractive that he called his parents to get him to try out. He was the only one to make it in his hometown. So the competitiveness you got right lol.

Airplane Pt. 2 is an awesome song! It's kind of a spinoff/extension of one of the rap line member's (J-Hope) solo mixtape song, Airplane. The part where he dances with the 2 mics is a verse from that song! The official mv for this is to the Japanese version. They have a HUGE following in Japan, and often do separate albums of many of their songs in Japanese, along with original singles in Japanese. This performance is probably my all-time favorite of anyone ever! I'm still blown away by it every time!

BTS stages have always been praised for being one of the greatest stages. They deliver their perfomances with a very detailed planning and numerous long practices. They always go all out. They spend money as much as needed to be able to bring a great performance. Their music, choreography, and performance are their pride so they always do their best to show what they are good at. BTS is dedicated and passionate to their craft. That's why whenever they step on the stage, they claim it as theirs. They have fun with the crowd thus turning the event into their concert for the entire time they are performing. BTS is THAT group. Truly an idol, an artist, and a performer. A total package. 💜💜

That's not a concert, that's their performance in one of the award shows last Dec. 2018 which they garnered 7 awards two of them are Daesang, the highest awards. Yes, you can imagine them doing a tour singing and dancing at the same time. They trained hard that's why their stamina and energy is like that. They don't stop unless they are injured. Their LY tour last year was a phenomenon. One country and city to another. And not done yet. BTS members are perfectionist and known for being in sync. I think many artists practiced so hard to join a group and to be able to debut, but once they’re debuted moreover if they’re already famous, the effort they put in their performance is less and reduced. But it’s different with BTS, they always perform 1000% just like the first time they debuted even if they are now no 1 boyband in the world they still humble. Even more and more practiced and hardwork and effort we can see in every song, performance, mv, reality show. They worked so hard even too hard...they deserve all the best in the world. Cuz they always give their best to army 💜💜💜

"I bet the level of competition was high" who's gonna tell him Jin got recruited because he got out of a bus lol and Tae was accompanying a friend to an audition and the person who wanted to recruit him instead had to call his parents to get their permission. BigHit was a very small company back then... they had hopes and dreams and a lot of talent, but they had to work extra hard to get where they are now.

BTS didn’t become huge for a while and didn’t even get their first award/win until 2 years after their debut. They were highly looked down upon from being in a very small company, and even 2 members that came from the underground hip hop scene were made fun of and shunned by a lot of their old rap piers. They all had it really hard for a really long time. They definitely worked to get where they are today.

I know I'm late as heck on watchin this, but for any late comers such as myself here is a quick lesson on how the big companies bring together the kpop idol groups we know today. Part 1. Different people from around the country of Korea audition for a chance to be a kpop star. Part 2. 90 percent of auditions get regected, the other ten percent go into training. Part 3. Different trainees are chosen to become part of a group. Part 4. The chosen people form a band and move on through life with the 3 to the most common 9 members, although one group NCT has 18 but also has 3 sub groups that branch off of that, look it up. Part 5. That group sticks together for the amount of time that is either stated by the contract they signed or by choice of members. And there ya have it folks the prosses of creating kpop bands. For bighit, I congratulate them for bringing together 7 of the kindest, most humble, patient, caring, loving, funny, precious boys, and for bringing together something that has changed the lives of many, such as myself. Thank you bighit for making a family. That was long, sorry whoever actually took the time to read this.😁

actually kpop perfromances are totally different from this. i don't know how to explain it, but only BTS and their staff come out with this concepts performances, well because first of all their songs and albums have concepts, so they put it into the stage. BigHit spent 270k dollars for this stage, for the whole performance. I've seen zero companies doing that, because that's a lot of money and it might be risky if the guys weren't prepared, but since the guys are bts, they already knew they will put all their energies and sweat to make it perfect. they succeeded👑🔥

Thank u for reacting to this.. and Hehehehe as you said that maybe there are thousands ppl who wanna be in this group.. it just feels funny because ... you see... BTS was a nobody group from small company which almost went bankrupt, they were ridiculed .., they got cut from broadcast sometimes and so manyyy people actually look down on them and NEVER expect them to go anywhere far. This was one of the group expected to fail by so many ppl... except for ARMY of course. BTS and ARMY nvr give up and well.. keep moving forward until now ;) They grind and give their all hearts n effort against the odds into where they are now. You can watch a glimpse of this in video: Nobodies To Legend (2013-2017) by xceleste. Thank u for reading my comment.

Actually they were picked pretty randomly it’s quite amazing how big and amazing of a group they are , they were chosen by their own talents and some not even having any at all nor interest in joining the group. It was supposed to be a hip-hop group only but things changed a long the way and they struggled for years coming from a poor company who’s only group was bts and working hard ...they never had money to do big things like other groups and practiced for hours during the day, lived together for years sleeping in one room with 7 people ........they didn’t have their big break till a couple of years later in 2017 they debut in 2013 and trained before that . They’re know for being very humble people and one of those groups who gives faith and hope to others because they never once thought they would make it and be this big because everyone judged or hated on them nor have them a chance, yet here they are one of the biggest groups worldwide. They give strength to people as they didn’t give up and recently they stated that things were hard and they were on the verge of disbanding we don’t know how hard it is for them or their personal struggles because we only see what they show us and their fans are a huge impact on them they constantly remind us every minute that without us they are nothing and would have never had anything and the same with us for them 💜 it’s amazing how we all get a long like family yet we barely know each other personally, they bring people together no matter where your from or what you look like 💜 BTS is a team a family really....and they’re very unique people each of them is special and talented in their own way through hard work and passion over the years and well their genuine hearts 💕

Airplane pt 2 (2nd song) don't actually have an mv, bc it's a sidetrack from their album love yourself: tear. Only the teaser song and the title track for the album have an mv but fortunately airplane pt 2 have a Japanese version mv, so you can still watch it, and btw it's part 2 bc airplane pt 1 was one of the song of jhope in his solo track (hope world)

To be honest, when BTS first started, they were unpolished diamonds and got better, changed, developed and made their way up step by step since their trainee days (artists in Korea get coached by their company before they actually get to debut). The group started and was inspired by the rapper and leader RM that their label discovered as a teen in a club, performing. The group was actually supposed to be a hiphop group/crew, not a boyband, but the concept later changed and their company took in young dancers and vocalists. Then after years BTS was finally born.
