Em trinta de março de 1973 eu estava exatamente com um dia de vida. Que privilégio, após 51 anos, ver essa gravação com qualidade tão exuberante, Ray Charles nessa linda versão da canção dos Beatles.

Ray took this to a whole 'nother level. Soulful.

Amazing! Totally different take, making a very British song sound like a Chicago blues song....absolutely stunning ❤❤

A great Ray Charles cover of a classic song.

I normally don't like other people's versions of Beatles songs, but Ray just has a way that makes it work Great performance!💜

Agreed. They're few and far between. Notable exception is the gorgeous Sergio Mendes treatment of Fool On The HIll.

@@blujay9191 oh yes! I love that one, too.

"A Little Help From My Friends" by Joe Cocker is another one of the good ones.

@@gregoryduncan3067 oh yeah! Wow, I should rephrase my statement to: There are only a few remakes of Beatles that I really like. Joe could sing anything and I'd like it! 🙌😎

@@gregoryduncan3067.. Yes, that's a great one, too.. Earth Wind And Fire's "Got To Get You Into My Life" comes to mind too. "Every Little Thing" by Yes is a lesser known but very good, unique rendition. I think all the examples we've mentioned in these comments have at least one thing in common. They're not strict 'covers' . The performer(s) take the liberty of putting their personal touch on them.

RAELETTES - third from left with red hair - Mable John legendary R&B vocalist and the sister of iconic soul singer Little Willie John who recorded the original version of "FEVER". Next to her is Susaye Greene who went on to join the Supremes and co-write Michael Jackson's song, "I Can't help It".

Would be interesting to hear a Soul and R&B compilation of Beatles covers.

He also did this on Ed Sullivan in Dec68. Also on Dick Cavett in 1972. He seems he really liked the song! Charles wrote many familiar songs beginning in the late 50s. Somewhere along the line, it appears that he stopped writing and did covers? Appreciate any insight on this topic.

What a great cover and tribute to the Beatles by one of their musical influences ("I Feel Fine" sounds like, "What Did I Say).

Earth, Wind and Fire did a great rendition of Got to get you into my life on the Sergeant Pepper’s album. It’s too bad Ray Charles was not on this album as well with this song. Paul McCartney must’ve loved this version as well.

Check out the Australian band ZOOT cover of Eleanor Rigby. I promise it's worth it, though perhaps not for a Ray Charles fan! Peace.

There is still too many lonely people out there. The bigger the cities, the more cell phones and computers -- the more lonely there are.

Of all the Beatles songs he could pick from, he picks Eleanor Rigby? Seems kind of odd, but whatever.

Love Ray Charles and The Beatles, but didn’t think it worked either. Credit to him for trying a different approach.
