I don't think your dolls house is "crazy" at all. In fact, what you did was rescue from eventual dumping in a landfill, but also not giving something that can be repaired a new life and be given to a little girl who will love it and think she got the best gift ever! Yours was the most loving and kind thing to do with that unwanted dolls house. YOU gave it new life and filled it with so many wonderful things that also got a new home. We have the same system here in the states. They are called dumpsters or roll offs. You can order one from your trash pick up service. Although, its not always in these dumpster that you can find good stuff. Lots of people here regularly check their neighborhoods on trash pick up day, especially if its a large item pick up day, to see whats been left at the curb. I've done it many tines. But I've never been lucky enough to find a dolls house in any condition. So lucky find for you. Congratulations! If it were me, I would have had to grab the chairs too.

It was great fun to watch your 'informal' house revamp and decorating. The outcome reminds me a bit of student flats 😄 back in the day. You had a good flow there to get things together without the usual challenge of fitting it all in, period-wise, scale-wise. Good for a change and your creativity!

This reminded me of one of my favourite stories as a child (Pinochio) as Geppetto who made himself a wooden son also used to fix up broken toy’s and doll’s like new and give them to the local children, This was so lovely and very thoughtful of you both, the little girl must of been so happy and thought all her xmas’s and birthday’s all came at once and I bet she will treasure it forever🏠👍🏼🙏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

The complete redo of the structure itself is so good. Who knows if the mom and little girl watch your channel- I hope you told them to see this as it is just a great way for the child to understand how it became what it is.

Oh I just know that little girl was literally the happiest kid on earth and thought that her dreams had just come true magically. I like to do this sort of thing and donate it to the children’s hospital so that many children, who are probably frightened at being there, can forget where they are for a while and play. It never gets outgrown that way, as well.

I am 73 and I still own my old dolls house.. which I am renovating, hanging wallpaper, restoring 100yr + furniture. Such fun, and I dont feel its strange. Ive been stitching couch cushions, have yet to fill the linen cupboard and dress the inhabitants. I have plenty silks and laces. Its my old age project but cant keep my hands off it! What a great little project this rescued house is! It'll make some little girl happy and maybe foster life time love affair!

Incredible! Three days ago I found this exact doll house but in pink abandoned right outside our door. It looks like yours used to be pink too before someone gave it a blue makeover. Mine still has the middle shutters intact but had the hinges broken. I am fixing it up as we speak to use at our primary school and then I see this video in my recommendations. Oh how lovely that you found this, repaired it and have to a child to love and enjoy! I drove 4hrs away through 4 states to rescue a vintage dolls house that was given to me by my cousins father in law and it belonged to his mother who built the dollhouse from scratch. Top to bottom she designed this dollhouse and not from a kit. It was from the 70’s and was full of furniture for it and some still new in boxes that’s never been put together. She also had won some ribbons over the years before she had passed by entering it in festivals in Georgia fairs and there were also photos of the dollhouse and it’s progress of being built. I’m not even blood family to the man who gave it to me and I am so grateful for him giving it to me instead of burning it in a wood burning pile he had going while cleaning out garages and car ports where old things were stored. Anyone who’s wanting yo see more of it and it’s progress of being restored to as close as I can get to its original state I’ll be making a YT channel just for my love for dolls, vintage toys and dollhouses soon but I’ll also share it on my shorts and community tab here in my main channel. Wish me luck on getting started on it now that we have warm weather here in the Kentucky mountains and can work on it out in my fathers garage. ❤

Your video was what I needed to see. It is ironic, today I started back working on a dollhouse that I had bought last year. The dollhouse needs a lot of work to be done. The previous owner’s grandchild was breaking it apart. Plus, it was poorly constructed to begin with. It is an English Tudor style house. I was attracted to its charm and potential. It being my first miniature dollhouse, I was feeling overwhelmed and stop working on it for months. Today, I thought just start working on one thing at a time. Your video was a great inspiration for bringing a neglected dollhouse back to life. You’re both Angels. 😇 😇 The ending was so touching. 🥲 I am glad it went to a good home. 😊

I loved this! When I was a little girl in Leeds, I had a dollhouse. We couldn't take much with us when we came to Canada so I brought my saucy walker doll. In my 70's and still have her but I'd love another dollhouse.
