Chase and Josh travel to Sonora, Mexico, on a special October permit to hunt Mexico Coues Deer with fuzzy velvet antlers. This hunt started when Mesquite Mountain Outfitters (MMO) posted a photo of a double-drop tine buck. Chase was obsessed and had to hunt it. They arranged to hunt the deer early season before the Coues buck shed its velvet and would be patternable on water. But record monsoon rains that lasted well into October had other plans. Water was everywhere on the ranch and all over Sonora. Bucks were dispersed and nocturnal. The hunt was over. The buck was nowhere to be found. But the pair decided to stay an extra day, maybe two. And that made the difference, giving them the time to finally locate the buck and get it killed.
