I fell off my motorbike once and went to hospital without insurance. All they did was dress the wound (no stitches) on my elbow and do 2 xrays on my hand. The cost came to about 3-4k baht which is about $70-100. ....Some people get billed 16k for nasty accidents....I would recommend getting insurance.

Thank you Tony! Great information especially about Chiang Mai, my area of interest. My cousin been there like ten times, he had a girlfriend from there which he met here in the States and lived with her here for like 5-6 years. He is moving there in June, early retirement. And sparked my interest since me too early retiring at the end of the year. Planning to check it out perhaps later in the year. I am pro soccer coach for the youth levels. I am thinking if I move there maybe to volunteer to help lil bit with youth soccer . My cuz said soccer is pretty popular so I figure I can help with 35 years of coaching behind me. Reason I am thinking Chaing Mai is all the reasons you mentioning on video but the most important is the math. A lot more affordable there,bc in America is almost impossible to retire and live comfortable life 🤷‍♂️. Thank you 🙏🏾 Tony F

@@TheNarrowGate 😁 that's what my cuz said ,we're not bad in soccer for gringos 🤪, at least we don't suck anymore and make to the world cups, I coached several of the players. Also what's important to me is being close to Nepal. I like mountaineering, I'll keep doing treks there and those mountains look perfect for training. Dude I live in Clearwater Florida , Tampa Bay, it is as flat as fudge here and hot too. I tell ya Chiang Mai is perfect for me in many ways but only way to know is to put feet on the ground.

Thank you for your videos. Just wondering have you thought for applying the Elite Visa instead of the retirement visa in Thailand. It seems like the 90 day check visa rule can be kinda of a pain. Any thoughts much appreciated.

🇹🇭 is too expensive for me. It may work for some. Asist Thai visa goes to 90 checks in my behalf. 🇹🇭

I think 90 day reporting is still required for Elite. Yes Elite do it for you, but it's still a thing.
@Mark-yo5ue
@Mark-yo5ue Жыл бұрын
@@pfb161 yes, correct 90 day reporting is required for Elite. The long term visa that can be obtained through The Thailand Board of Investment has a one year reporting requirement, so could be better if you qualify for such a visa.

Thanks for the great info. I have a question regarding using Google voice to port my US phone number. My phone is old and I could either buy a new one in the US before I move and do what you recommend using Google voice. Or, could I wait to buy a new one in Thailand and do the same thing? I'm looking at getting the Samsung S-23 either way and maybe it is cheaper in Thailand? Appreciate your thoughts on this. Thanks!

Thank you so much for this information! My husband and I are seriously considering moving to Thailand from the US. We are tired of the culture here, and at the rate things are going we will never be able to retire. With that being said, we don’t want to be in a really remote area (where we have access to stores and food) but also don’t want to live in a big city. Any areas you would recommend?
