I am the least mechanical or handy person that you will ever meet and I was able to install this clothesline after watching the video with no problem whatsoever. Never thought that I could be so handy. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

I have to agree. This seems very simple. I been looking for a method I could do myself all week long. My husband said no to a clothes line. He thinks it’s ugly and the neighbors will be mad so he won’t help or do it. I’m gonna do it anyway while he’s at work behind the house. Something with no post is exactly what I was looking for. I was worried about damaging the house.

I've installed clotheslines proffessionaly for 15 years, and one thing I can tell you , is that you never hook a clothesline to a tree. One thing is that a tree will sway in the wind and snap your line. All trees move with the wind., Another is A tree has sap that continually drips and runs onto the clothes. And lastly birds will be in those trees dumping on your clean sheets. Just a tip, to remember,,,
@RichardTurlington6 жыл бұрын
This is a great tip - though remember that some people will not have another option, and in that case a tree is better than no clothesline!

I just installed a clothes line a few days ago. It works great but I added the double wheeled tool to keep the two lines together since I’m in a row home and had only two clothes poles which were not as high as others and to not temp my dog.

The pulley-type clothesline, as shown here, is the easiest type to use, although it's almost unknown outside of the Northeast.

check insides of clothing on items such as pants as one could put them on and be stung by a bee. Usually only takes one of these incidents to initiate a habit for checking..

@evaani Oh I see. I want to hang a clothesline in my backyard but it's all Maple trees and What can I do then? I have been wanting to connect one from my wooden deck (that I built) and then let it run all the way to the tall old tree. I do have a large shed I built too the wood is thin though so I don't know if I can connect it to the side or the roof :S Do you think that would be possible?

What pulley wheel size do you recommend for 40 feet of distance, what type of rope and what is the name of the device at 5.06?
@bubbleslarue183 жыл бұрын
He had a 60 ft and it was a small pulley. That should be fine!

OMG clothesline clothes smell soooo gross; especially when there's a horse barn next door. And they're scratchy and hard. Plus, as an allergy sufferer, clotheslines are worse than driers in that they add allergens to the clothes as they dry in the wind. Just sayin'. Clotheslines aren't the end all in drying technology.
