i am. BLOWN away by the fact that he thought kendrick agreed with carl’s voicemail and that’s why he put it on FEAR. like why would kendrick make a whole track about the various ways fear has impacted his life and Black people’s lives as a whole then be like “by the way i think racism is our fault because we upset god.” maybe it’s just me but the voicemail was very clearly not presented as a positive thing or something he agreed with. he played the whole thing without interrupting it to show how deeply the fearmongering of the catholic church had affected his cousin, to the extent that he would call his cousin who was struggling to leave this drawn out raving voicemail about how their people’s suffering was their own fault. it was an example of someone whose life is controlled by fear. maybe i’m wrong or maybe you just need to be raised catholic (or similar religions mb) to understand idk lmao

basically he rates music based on how much enjoyment he gets out of it. 0 means there is pretty much nothing that made his time listening to the album worth it and 10 is pretty much everything was entertaining to an extent. 5, being right in the middle, means that half of it gave him enjoyment somehow. 7 means the good outweighs the bad more than just a little bit and he enjoyed this album

I assumed this review would be garbage because everyone hates it, but yo, Melon actually gives it a lot of praise, and a very detailed ANALYSIS. He obviously approaches it as a complex artistic statement (which is how any Kendrick album should be approached) as well as an album, and has a lot of deep and insightful things to say about it. VERY GOOD REVIEW but yall trippin over the score.

I've come back here to say this: this review is 22 minutes long. This is what makes Anthony such a fantastic reviewer. Even though many may not agree with a 7, he's given us a deconstruction of the album and an amazing review to explain it all.

Armz drake has a lackluster discography bud, putting out playlists to cover up the fact that his albums suck. he has numbers, and nothing else. kendrick has both the numbers and the discography to back him up as one of the greatest. yea, that's it. im out bruh 👊 oh, i'm not out. logic is a fucking biter, he doesn't have his own sound. he's dope, but only because the influences from others that he uses are dope so, meh. gambino's last project was fucking amazing but other than that, 😴😴😴😴. he's a dope actor and director tho, i fucks with him heavy. bruh, get ur tastes a check up, pls.
