Bill Spicer joins Jeff Parks from Calmwaters Fly Fishing to learn how to Euro Nymph on some small rivers and streams in southern Ontario. Thanks for taking on this great instruction centered fishing trip. I learned so much. Bill, I think you are a great fly angler and I can benefit from your safe wading techniques. I fish to fast and wade to deep for my age. I think I will be a safer angler this year from watching you guys fish.

I finally put together a good outfit. I bought my Cabela's WLx 3-4wt reel and a Moonshine Epiphany 10'6' 3wt. I like that it has a small fighting but to maneuver the rod easier. Bill rocks BTW!

I haven't gone Epiphany yet, but I have a Moonshine Drifter and I really like it for dry and indicator fishing (two tips!). How are you enjoying your Epiphany?

Is there anywhere you recommend buying your tungsten bh nymphs? Do u buy yours or make them yourself? Would like to try your “top 4” you go through in the video but having trouble finding them online with silver heads, or in the right colors...

Hi Alex, Yes the Black Nickel or Gun Metal bead head is hard to find right now. I do tie them myself but you can try the The Fly Fiend www.theflyfiend.com He has a Calmwaters fly box available plus he can make anything up you want. Great quality and price.

Just started just started euro nymphing. Casting and getting any distance is a challenge With such a light line, is it is method that is best on wading waters ?

I always assumed that a bait fish pattern needs to flow with current cause naturally they do not swim with or against current.

Cutting the water that way with a nymph, you should switch to tenkara

I used an Echo Shadow 11 ft rod the other day (excellent rod btw) but did conclude that my 13 foot Dragontail Nirvana 400 is superior for the euronymphing style. fwiw I’ve landed a 18” rainbow and 17” smallmouth before on the Nirvana 400.
