After a decade of single-party dominance, India's Parliament is witnessing a resurgence of robust opposition. The reduced numbers for the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and a significant surge in opposition representation promise a dynamic shift in parliamentary proceedings. And this is not just limited to the aggression we have witnessed on the floor of the house but can positively impact legislation, governance and ultimately democracy.
Recent history has seen crucial bills like the Finance Bill 2023 and the Criminal Code Bill passed without any debate, underscoring the importance of a stronger opposition in ensuring thorough deliberation.

Opposition is not just about shouting when others speak!! Responsible opposition is making your points and then listening to the replies, and further debating!! But the fact the opposition needs to shout down another’s voice means that they know they lost the battle…..

Opposition is a way vast realm and extremely crucial to keep a check on the government from arbitrary and lop sided decisions which will affect everything around you.

but this is not opposition!! just like the government not getting complete majority is weak, the same way if the opposition is made up of allies its weak. Every party looks out for themselves and the hard decisions gets stalled. which is why 2 party systems are best.

To get a clear prospective about om birla's behaviour, I think we should watch satya's being honest youtube channel, where he has shown the contrasting facial expressions of the speaker when listening to modi's speech and rahul's speech. You will see what that gentleman is trying to put his point across. Om birla is biased, no doubt about that!

@@Viper60589 yes that is true,because the so called "insurance amount" was paid out to the family right after this was raised in parliament, just the day before the latest interviews of affected family taken by godi media- it is constructive... listen to what the Agniveer's father said, " beema ka paisa kal mila", "baki milega, na jane kab milega" . so why waited till "kal" , and that means its true to the core- and opposition is successful.

It is turnaround time for India. People are savouring the result of voting in a strong opposition. Half the time should be allocated based on equal time for number of parties & half equally so tnat they all get time to present their views & represent the voters who had elected them to parliament(Lok Sabha) This willbe not discreminatory to voter & political parties from opposition or ruling one.
