I agree Cindy. I have a whole cabinet of mugs and none of them match. They were all gifts to me and every morning when I take one out for the day, it reminds me of the person that gave it to me. I really do remember every one. :-) It's a happy thing for me.

OMG I feel your pain, when we moved to FL, I had to bring so many docs because of marriage, name change, SS card, proof of residency docs. Proof of car insurance, and they actually had to come out to the parking lot to check the Vin # on my car. Crazy stuff just to get a FL driver's license and car tag.

Danni you have such an amazing son! He is such a kind heart & good spirit! I would have been in tears also when thinking our babies are not being treated right. Give him a big hug for me. I was not blessed with a son, but I would have wanted a son just like Noah & I know my daughter would want aa brother like him. Hang in there Mom the best is yet to come!

If it's any consolation, no one ever has a good experience at the DMV. I've never heard anyone say "wow, that was easy!".

I hate the dmv. When I had to renew my license last time it took me 3 days and 3 times waiting in line to have all the right stuff! It was aggravating!!!!

Awww...hugs to you both. Noah did seem to handle the situation well. He's a good kid. It's just life...things happen, but I KNOW what little consolation that can be sometimes. I am going thru something myself this week and want to crawl under a rock, but this too will pass. There's always shopping, right? Even better if you have yourself a Kari to go with. We all need a Kari.

Oh, how the green deviled egg/hors dourves dish reminds me of my mother. I have hers that is identical to that one and it comes out for every holiday meal. She’s always with us.

My family went camping all the time when I was a kid, and we had a couple of those coffee pots - or percolators as they said. They were made for camping and could be used directly over the fire. Those old food containers were very handy when camping, also.

Speaking as someone who formerly worked for the Region VI Office, based in Dallas TX, of the Social Security Administration, the ONLY way to be issued a Social Security NUMBER is to be issued a Social Security CARD! There must have been a card issued in your past that you received but have forgotten about. I wish you speed and luck in getting Noah’s replacement for his SS card. Noah’s attitude always a healthy one!

As a mom, I wanted to reach out and hug you. I saw the tears you were holding back. I know how much it sucks when we can't make everything perfect for out children. Noah is such a great kid. Just take a deep breath and go apply for his Social Security Card. It will take a while longer but his dream of racing is still gonna happen. Keeping ya'll in my prayers. So sorry about the permit incident. It's frustrating when one little thing causes something not to get done. Noah, you have the best attitude. Take a breath, get what you need and go back. When there's nothing that can be done, you're good to roll with it. No sense getting upset, it just doesn't do any good. Not too much longer and you'll " get permit done". Wow, great lamps. You can use some of them in your new house. That gold soap dispenser I used one just like that for my dish liquid. I have that green devil egg dish. I use it every party.

My daughter, who is now 40, failed her drivers behind the wheel test 2x. The 1st time I understood because she wasn't really ready. She was 16 and even drove over a curb on the way to take the test. But the 2nd time she was 17 1/2 and was ready but the mean lady at the DMV said she failed cause her shoes probably got in her way of driving properly!!!!! I said "did she have them on her hands?" The 3rd time, 2 weeks later, a man gave her the test and she passed! So, you at least didn't fail. You were just lacking a social security card and by the time you're old enough to collect social security the well will be all dried up. It's actually dried up now but they just print fake money so we can get it. So, you handled it like the mature young man we know you are and we love you for it!!!!!

My 18 year old just went through all the DMV stuff. Permit test, pernit, road test. We fine tooth combed the instructuons and even brought extra things! Then he bought a truck; went through the insure, register, inspect process... And the truck blew a rod less than a month later! His grandparents chipped in and we got a new motor in it....WHEW! Noah has a good attitude! Better than I had during all that stress-mess!

I’m so glad you saved the old glass bowl in the beginning. I like it too. The lamps are beautiful. Glad you found the other ivy lamp. I really was surprised when you said you hadn’t noticed it!! Hope Rachel likes what you got her. I’m always telling my kids that same phrase Those entangled pigs were up to no good. Think they were makin bacon! I’m so sorry about how things turned out for Noah today. He is such a nice kid. Mine were issued their SS cards right after they were born. We got SS cards for our kids shortly after they were born, they were needed for us to claim them as dependents on our taxes and before our kids got their first jobs they had to present their SS for their federal and state paperwork - maybe it's different state to state

Great goodies, and life lessons! Same happened to one of my sons- we were short a document. Great pivot Noah💪🏻 and Danni, of course in the middle of everything else going on, it felt like a huge WOMP WOMP. ahh glitter-- having worked in several thrift stores, this is brining back memories of glitter getting all over in the sorting area, and having to try to sweep it all up at the end of the day. And at another time, Some getting on my cash register counter... glad I'm not the only one who takes carts back in 9well, when I can, no that I have chronic illnesses). and, like u did, if there's a cart in the parking lot when I go in, i take it with me-- I'm always surprised that others don't think of doing that!! That suck about the MV, hang in there. I am glad to see so many comments supportive of Noah... Some of the comments toward him when you were 1st looking at the house made me sad.

I think the ivy plants lamps are 1950’s. When I was a little girl our dishes were ivy design. My parents were married in 1954. They were a wedding gift. It’s funny the things one remembers. Pixies were “ a thing “. My mom loved them. I loved both of your lamp finds. Getting both lamps was great. Sorry you had a bad day. Great finds makes it better!!
