I really don't understand why laptop manufactures think speakers and display is not important for a business user, after all, we spend a very long time looking at the display and there is nothing worse than a bad display with bad contrast to look at all day , and the speakers are very important when we are making conference calls , we don't need to drag around a speaker or when we are presenting something with sound to few customers in a small meeting room , the speaker is very important.

The latitude has an fps, hello ir camera as well as a place for a smartcard. The configuration you received just did not have all of the bells and whistles but it does have configurations with all of those features

Great review and comparison. One thing though, maybe good to have a full screen colour image on both to show off the screen while you go through the features instead of a browser with the black menu bars and black status bar, makes the bezels look thicker than they are.

I wish manufacturers would use 3/2 aspect ratio for laptops and detachable tablets. So much more screen. 16/9 seen so weird. Wide and narrow. I prefer the 13" Lenovo. I'm not so much a fan of its industrial design. Jet black and ugly track buttons. I'm in the market for such a device. The Lenovo thinkpad X1, HP Elite X2, or the Acer Switch 7. All of them are 13" and very expensive. Sigh. Anything else I should consider?

For me the sweet spot would be the Dell. As per ports, size, light weight, and acceptable audio.

Why? X1 has many pros like thunderbolt 3, serviceable, bigger display, same cpu and ram specs, sturdier keyboard , surface pro 6 excels mainly in battery life

Only Dell. With Next Business Day On-Site Warrenty and Accidental Damage protection. I have the 5290 with max configuration and it's great! I had ThinkPad Helix 1 and 2 before and never again Lenovo. Their NBD warrenty is joke!

Sorry, Damir but the lighting in your presentation made it difficult to see the details. Perhaps in the future you could do an on-screen text comparison of features; something you've done in the past. As far as choice of product, I agree with you that the Surface Pro is the best all around choice, at least for me. It is light, has great display and sound quality, and LTE will be available by year end which provides fantastic connectivity ( Qualcomm Snapdragon X16). As far as lousy port selection, the MS dock is a good solution, even has an Ethernet port. I think the pen experience is more satisfying than the Ipad Pro. The keyboard sucks a little but I use a Logi K810. Also I hate the origami style stand. The perfect solution would be a Surface screen and audio, T470 expand-ability and keyboard and the ThinkPad Yoga 14" form factor.

I decided not to buy the surface because of the lack of usb-c and then non serviceability of the device. If you want to exchange the battery which could happen if you use it everyday, repair costs about 450 Euros.
@gumbo3063
@gumbo3063 5 жыл бұрын
@@2FlexVlog I agree. The major drawback was serviceability for me as well. But studies show that the battery on the SP can last as long as 10 years depending on usage. Note that the SP will operate plugged in even if the battery dies. You are also correct about the expense of replacing the battery. But getting an equivalent Lenovo can cost as much as 2800 US dollars. I paid 1000 US for my SP5 w/LTEA i5 and 8 gig. I looked at the T470/470s and they are quite expensive. I used to be a big Dell fan but their products have declined severely in terms of quality.

Damir, how do you folks in Europe typically connect your computers to the internet? And are the prices reasonable compared to here in the US? I pay about 45 US for 100mb up and down over fiber.

Dell 5290 wins overall. Thinkpads horrible speakers and terrible battey life make it unusable. The surface pro can not be self serviced and upgraded. i am about to upgrade the Dell 5290 to intel AX210 WIFI 6E and add a second 2230 m.2 SSD 256GB. Two SSD's in the Dell 5290 is utterly amazing.
