IMPORTANT FOR YOUR GUINEA PIGS!: Hello! I own two guinea pigs. Owning guinea pigs are very important, you must give them hay, supplies of water, and vitamin c everyday. If you noticed your piggie has no hair behind the ear, no worries! It's fine if your piggie has no hair behind the ear, they were just like that. Do not punish your guinea pig for doing a behavior you do not like, guinea pigs are very small animals with small brains. Piggies do not like to get in a bathtub with water, or a shower. If you try to put them in a bathtub with water, they will swim but they just do it because they are scared. If your piggie is in a situation like this, I suggest you get them out of the water right when you see them in the bathtub with water. Piggies wash themselves, they will brush their fur with their front paws they get the water from a kind of liquid from their eyes and spread it throughout their fur. This is ok it will not deal any damage to your guinea pigs. Sometimes guinea pigs eat their poop, this would seem like a very weird behavior to us humans, we would of course get sick if we eat poop but not for guinea pigs! If you see your guinea pig ear your poop, do not take them to a vet or any kind of for that matter. Guinea pigs eating poop is a normal guinea pig behavior! Guinea pigs eat poop because their poop is plant based they need to ingest poop and get the most nutrients out of their diet. The poop contains a lot of vitamin k and vitamin b complex. The brown poo is the one they eat, remember guinea pigs eating poop is okay for your guinea pigs. If you are taking your guinea pig to a park, or anywhere outside, make sure there is no hawks around. Hawks eat wild guinea pigs, try to keep your piggie in a guinea pig carrier or any kind of carrier that is safe for your guinea pigs at home. Guinea pigs need a big space of a cage to run around in, me and my mom put two cages together we have one built, an the other is just a cage. Because our piggies only went up the stairs one time in the one we built, we got the upstairs and put it downstairs. Guinea pigs popcorn and run around a lot in cages, guinea pigs popcorn when they have a lot of energy or when they are in a clean cage. My oldest piggie does not popcorn that often though when in a new clean cage. Guinea pigs will especially popcorn when a built cage is rearranged or put in a different spot its suprising if my guinea pigs do not popcorn in a situation like that. (Popcorning is when a guinea pig runs in a cage crazy with energy they have) Facts about guinea pigs!: Guinea pigs sleep for only four hours each day! (its alright for your piggies) , Guinea pigs sleep with their eyes open :O (also ok for your piggie). Hoping this found it helpful for your piggies if u just bought one ore two!💗💗💗💗

EVERYONE GET THIS TO THE TOP: Naz, Brooke or Justin if you are reading the comments us Legends have some very important information on looking after guinea pigs, We are soo happy you all are getting two guinea pis since they get lonely. But, they need a bigggg space not one a pet shop might recommend you. You should clip their nails once a month, please don't use the harness you don't bring small animals on walks because it could hurt their spine. Don't leave them outside all year, in the summer you can let them out but if is super hot then it will be boiling for them. Make sure they can go outside to eat grass and run around in a big cage but put some shade on the roof, if it gets cold you can but not on freezing days and I recommend watching a proper KZfaq video about how to look after them so you don't take care of them wrong. They can also eat 10-25% of veggies like carrots and cucumber. Only let them out if the grass is DRY. Wet grass can make them sick.

I’m so happy for you Naz!! But the only thing is you cannot use a lead or leash on a guinea pig, leads or leashes can harm the guinea pig’s delicate spine and they can easily slip out of it. Also you don’t need to wash your guinea pigs often, because they are known as very clean animals, so only do it when it is extremely necessary. (I’m saying these important facts because I know Naz really loves these guinea pigs, and I want them to be safe and happy so Naz will be happy.) :)

PLEASE READ, VERY IMPORTANT: i know getting the guinea pigs is really exciting, but you need to give them space, constantly holding them and playing around with them can cause them to become scared and constantly shivering. they don’t like leashes so taking them into an enclosed grassy area where they can’t run away is better. my neighbours used to have guinea pigs around the same age as naz and she got so excited to play with them and constantly hold them. she used to throw them around and slide them across the floor, or hide them in small places. the guinea pigs hated that so much, i tried telling her that she needs to stop because it hurts them and scares them and they are so small and fragile little things like throwing them around can causes them to have a heart attack and die. she didn’t listen and continued that behaviour to the point her parents had to take them back because it was just animal cruelty. so my message to naz and the rest of the norris nuts is to give them plenty of time in the cage, be very gentle with them outside of the cage and when outside keep an eye on them. don’t force them to do things they don’t like doing because it will ruin your bond with them. congratulations nazzy for finally getting your dream!! we are all so happy for you! xx take care of those guinea pigs and do more research on them too. :)

PLEASE READ, IMPORTANT INFORMATION: I understand getting a new pet (especially a guinea pig) can be very exciting. But, you must give them some necessities. Hay and grass are vitals, and nuggets and muesli are also vitals. They don't like leads/leashes and so you cannot take them for walks. Males fight much more than females, although often it isn't that bad. They don't like animals like dogs or cats or rabbits, so please be careful. You will need a run for them to play outdoors in the Summer and indoors in the Winter. Veggies are an every day snack for them, although carrots can be a once a week snack. Fruit is a weekly snack. I would recommend watching Little Adventures for some tips or It's Pigs for some sounds you may hear them making. My guinea pigs like to lick people, and they sniff you to see if you are friendly and safe or not. My guinea pigs squeak when they hear chopping and when they hear plastic rustling. They often purr when they are fighting. It may sound weird at first, but, I promise you will get used to it. Love from Kute Koalaz or Lucy x (PS SORRY IM LATE)

Tip from a guinie pig owner: ALWAYS HAVE HAY IN the cage for them to eat or they will lose a lot of weight and die and give them veggies throughout the day but no onions or acid veggies but the hay is so important just go to a pet shop and but bags of it and give them bowels of it they need gay no matter what they should always have a full howel

Feed them 1-2 times a day with a bowl full of food - same for water 3. Clean the cage once a week and put fresh newspaper, shavings (nice thick layer) and hay in one area for them to sleep in

!!!IMPORTANT MESSAGE!!! NEVER walk your guinea pig, when I got mine I thought it would be so fun to walk them, but walking them is actually I found out really bad for them. Also try to have a consistent feed time and floor time for them, they shouldn’t be out of there cage a lot just enough so they can run around for a while. Guinea pigs also like quite a lot of sleep to, so be sure to have them have a longer period of time in there cage so they can get a good nap during the day. Other than those things I’m sure you guys will be amazing guinea pig owners. (also be sure that as they grow, and they will grow a lot, you are watching there growth and making sure that they aren’t out growing there cage)

Tips for guinea pigs: -They get scared with long noises. -They love being held close to you especially on the chest. - they can eat some veggies but not any seeds but only once or twice a week. - change their water everyday -Clean their cage every once or twice a week with disinfectant spray then when it’s dry use bedding.

some guinea pig tips] 1- piggies love to zoomy and popcorn so make sure the cage is big enough for them to loose some energy ;] 2- there main diet is hay they are aloud a treat once or twice a day [treats; peaflakes, fruits[without seeds] and veggies 3; males can tend to be dominant but it is rarley harmful just make sure you give them equal amount of treatos and have big hay bundles round there cage

Guinea Pig Tips: Get a BIG cage they need space to popcorn and do zoomies Feed them pellets and hay (Treats: Pea Flakes vegetables Fruits /some fruits and vegetables they can’t eat or can’t eat a lot of so do research on that) Bell peppers you can feed it to them everyday(once they are older) When you first get them don’t pet or carry them right away because they have to adjust If you clean the cage area put them in a different room if you use a vacuum For vitamin c the company I recommend is Oxbow And I recommend bedding (as they get older I recommend fleece) I’ll add more later hope this helps!!
