@Lino Andrade "pitch" here actually has nothing to do with angles. A long climb is broken up into multiple sections called "pitches", which are usually about the length of the rope. Each person has their turn climbing the pitch while their partner sits still and belays. Then reset and do the next pitch. Alex, notorious for his love of fast and risky climbing, suggests "simul-climbing" or simultaneous climbing with a "running belay". In "simul-climbing", the belayer is also climbing while the lead climbing is climbing the next pitch. The team can move much faster up the route, but there are many more moments in which a fall could lead to serious disaster.

I watched Free Solo recently (the documentary about Alex's free climb of El Capitan), and it's fantastic. Palisade, Starlight, Thunderbolt, Winchell, Agassiz, and back to the car in 24 hours. I consider that to be one of the greatest mountaineering feats in US history. Free solo is an execution... a 100% no error performance. You don’t solo unless you know 100% you won’t fall, rope climb allows you to adventure new routes. Which is obviously going to make up most of his climbing
