I loved how GOW 2018 merely mentioned most of the gods, or you saw flashes of what they are, it always felt so mysterious and intriguing

2018 felt more like an adventure with your son. You found friends along who helped you reach your goal. Ragnaroks end goal was bigger so it makes sense to put in more people you live with. But it doesnt give that adventure feeling 2018 gave

The Only Thing That Was Disappointing About Gow Ragnarok Is Them Making The Blades Of Chaos And Leviathan Axe Have Less Effects In Their Attacks And Also Removing The Hand To Hand Combat

I think 2018 GoW had more badass scenes of Kratos doing insane feats of strength, which was something I missed in GoW: Ragnarok

I think what makes GOW 2018s story better for me personally is how you start with a simple, personal goal and it spirals into a much bigger adventure than expected. The simplicity of that + having only Kratos and Atreus as the main focus let SMS write a cleaner, more tightly written story. Also I just really enjoyed Baldur as the antagonist more than Thor and Odin, even though they’re pretty good as well.

God of War 2018 got the Goty just by the fact that Kratos had an incredible character development

2018's runic attacks were definitely much more powerful than they are in ragnarok since most of the runic attacks in gow4 became skills in ragnarok, they probably did this due to the "fimbulwinter wears down everything" Plot.

2018 is the better game for sure, but in an overall flawless and refined way. There are definitely some minor improvements that could be made on Ragnarok but there’s nothing I’d change about the 2018 game. Saying that, I have been having more fun on Ragnarok, especially with the addition of the spear

Baldur was the best part of GOW 2018

One complaint I have is maybe I prefer the origonal games isolated feeling like it was just you and BOI for most of the game by yourself like there was only like a couple of recurring charecters It really feels like the gods have really destroyed the land

Something about Kratos’s eyes in gow 4 is so… odd. Thankfully it’s fixed in Ragnarock, but I can’t put my finger on what made them so different

I think God of War 2018 had a better plot, but if they went down the Thor killing Kratos and Kratos is trapped in Valhalla or Helheim and escapes or is rescued, and with there maybe being a twist with Ragnarok already having happened in Jotenheim I think the story would’ve easily surpassed the second, also just seeing a couple more gods would’ve been cool too, like Vidar and Forseti

Solid! I'd give story too to GoW 2018. GoW 2018 is a game in witch there ain't much drama, the climax is built apon both Atreus and Kratos. However in Ragnarok, it feels a lot more dramatized, EVEN THO it's also super good and the drama is minimal.

I played both games, and for me, God of war 2018 is a little superior compared to ragnarok, both are very perfect, but, I think kratos should continue in his 2018 way, he is strangely too friendly, and also, 2018 has a lot more gore than ragnarok, which makes old players like 2018 more, something I like about 2018 is that it's a unique adventure between kratos and his son, which makes the moments more impactful because kratos is teaching his son so young to be a warrior.... which in ragnarok he becomes a simp, I haven't platinumed 2018 yet, but I prefer ragnarok in certain things and the story, like traveling between realms through portals, unique xp for kratos and atreus / freya .. etc, my opinion, 2018 is 9/10 and Ragnarok 8/10

the only problem i have with ragnarok is the change up from the combat, they removed so much and didnt really add anything better, i would have preferred it stay the same but add a couple more weapons and a couple more things to play with, not so much replacing features that made combat in 2018 so awesome. also the lack of fist options is unacceptable, i miss when you could dash punch around and not get hit at all.

I do agree but there’s one problem with Ragnarök. With Atreus being a little dump. Not listening to his father. But Ragnarök still wins.

I think Ragnarok definitely takes it and I say that because I’m a HUGE FAN of boss battles and GOW 2018 was lacking on that aspect and the gameplay In Ragnarok is just better and I don’t really think it’s debatable other than maybe hand to hand but a mean realistically your gonna be using weapons most almost all the of the time.

Baldur boss fight was one of best boss fights in history of gaming, but still except him we only had Magni and Modi (amazing boss fight) but in ragnarok we have Heimdall (so satissfying killing him), Thor (first boss fight amazing second meh but still) and Odin (2 or 3 amazing fazes)

Gow 2018 deserves the boss fights i think we had both thor and Odin fights on their damn garden when we had a whole realm to get thrown around While with baldur the fight was so much more cinematic and so much different scenery it was amazing
