It also shows you how to identify meso compounds, enantiomers, diastereomers, and cis trans geometric isomers. For the last example in the video, the compounds are NOT meso, since they lack chiral centers. A meso compound requires the presence of 2 or more chiral centers in it in addition to the plane of symmetry

For the last example aren't there no chiral centers because the carbon is connected to the same thing? Therefore it wouldn't be meso? It would just be an identical compound?

The Organic Chemistry Tutor so its indentical right....for meso it should hve chiral carbon with plane of symmetry .....isnt it???

Yeah your right :) what makes a meso compound is the fact that it has a chiral carbon with a plane of symmetry, and that all the chiral centers changed, (just like enantiomer, but with symmetry) if you break down the molecule for the last one, you'll see that its the same on both sides. A chiral center needs to have 4 different groups.
