When he said “He taught us to never give up…” I could feel the tears. I never really realized it but when I think about it he really DID teach me that. How many times were the Z fighters faced with what looked like completely IMPOSSIBLE odds only to come out victorious. Sure, as adults we jokingly say “plot armor” but as an 11yr old kid watching another 11yr old fight and beat perfect cell? That really teaches you to never give up and to dig deep for the power inside. Thanks Toriyama 🕊️

Yes dude. When I was just 6 and was going through my parents divorce, being split between two houses, neither of which felt like my home, I would take my DBZ VHS tapes, video games, and toys from moms to dads, DBZ was the only constant. I'm 27 now, and never stopped loving the series as my pfp and name show. Rip Toriyama, thanks for everything...
@user-bk4pm6me8iАй бұрын
@@vegetashairline3060Even though I've never seen a live video of Akira Toriyama or heard his voice, I'm certain he was aware of how much his work positively influenced people. His creative imagination not only provided entertainment during difficult times, like when going through your parents' divorce, but also inspired other creators like Kubo, Kishimoto, and Oda. The anime adaptations kickstarted Toonami, and his IPs spawned numerous successful game series and collectible toys. I wonder if he knew how grateful we are for his work. Rest in peace, Toriyama. It feels strange that he's no longer with us, considering I've been a fan of his work for over a decade. Toriyama, along with Toei and various game developers, created a phenomenon that spans generations. I remember watching DBZ Kai on Nicktoons in the early 2010s, initially dismissing it due to the frequent airing, but eventually giving it a chance. I even went back to watch Dragon Ball Z from scratch to catch up properly and watch the extra filler content. Also, due to Kai not getting to the Cell saga yet, I ended up watching Dragon Ball Z. In my preteen years, my favorite games were Budokai 3 and Budokai Tenkaichi 3. I rented Raging Blast 2 from Gamefly, only playing a single match in Raging Blast 2; my brother and I ended up trading it for Ultimate Ninja Storm. I briefly played the Saiyan saga story mode in Raging Blast, but I sucked at video games at that point in my teen years. I didn't have any DBZ toys, but the series was a significant part of my life during my preteen years. Now, as a 21-year-old high school dropout, I find myself in a strange place in life, reflecting on Toriyama's passing as a reminder of life's impermanence. Despite criticism, I've always loved the series, even the Buu saga. Thank you, Toriyama, for your lasting impact.
