This talk really exemplifies the age old axiom of spiritual wisdom, which is to "look within". He did not consult another, an authority, a book or religion. Rather he honestly allowed the inner wisdom within himself to speak to him. And as it spoke, he chose to listen deeply. The result being he now holds something deep, universal, and authentic to guide him, as well as to share with others. Very inspirational indeed.
@chrisweiland2251
@chrisweiland2251 Жыл бұрын
Inspirational if you are completely without logic, rationale and critical thinking. He told you what he remembers from a dream state, nothing more. He consulted his years of being raised religious, and that is what his mind used to try to make sense of what stimuli his brain had. "Allowed the inner wisdom within himself to speak to him"....in other words, his mind created a dream state, and he tried to make sense of it\...no wisdom there, talking to himself in essence. Dream interpretation by the untrained is hardly wisdom.

I am glad your NDE was without dying. My son who did just recently pass from brain cancer had an NDE the first time he went to surgery for his first tumor. Everyone just passed it off as a silly dream while being put under but it started when he went into the elevator going to the operating room. I had heard a similar one from my Uncle who did die on the operating table when he was in a horrific car accident. It started out the same. I watch these to give me peace knowing that my son is at peace now. This definitely lets me know he already had a taste of what was to come.

I'm sure many can relate to this one he described. "Start by allowing choices to unfold naturally. Wait as long as you can before choosing to allow other possibilities to fully mature". It took me (and I'm still working on it) until my late 40's to realize that I always jumped and made choices before I allowed others to unfold naturally. This was due to FOMO or fear of failure. It's weird that if i look back at some choices I made out of fear or impulse, other possibilities came forward that I could have taken advantage of if I would have just been more patient. This is a lot easier said than done, because how do you know it's been long enough. But just food for thought

He passed @ an early age & when he passed I was devastated. It broke my heart & I felt like he took a piece of me with him. It took many years for me to understand that he actually left a gift for me to discover... To this day I carry his memory w me. "interesting that his NDE was in the form of an intricate, complex machine" -- Not really given what his background is. And it seems too dissimilar to other NDE stories to take seriously, although people who believe in idealism, like Tom Campbell, would claim that what people see in the NDEs is just a construct custom made for the individual consciousness unit (soul) to help them transition to the afterlife -- and that construct is made based on the individual's understanding.

A beautiful Problacist testimony which, like the Guidelines of Problacism, can be applied to every faith, belief or religion - even atheism. Some highlights he was told: 'This is the future birthing into the now'. 'Each gear is the PROBABILITY of a thought, word or action in the future'. 'You are now in between the impossible now and in the future'. 'All choices have unintended consequences'. 'Better is understanding the beauty of how everything fits together', 'Have Faith in the grand design'. 'If those with choices make poor use of them, then they will be given fewer choices ... everything is interconnected''. 'Be gentle with EVERYONE, as I am gentle with you'. The 5 truths: 1. your best version is the depersonalised conscious being in the 'inbetween' stripped of everything. 2. Life isn't about chasing the next big thing - it's about 'letting go - make good choices moment by moment - Us AND them not Us OR them'. 3. Non-linear thinking - start looking at policies not objectives. 4. Live your life authentically - be the person you want others to be. What is my unique purpose in life? - the world starts at home and live a life of service to others. 5. You are nothing that you think you are - you are life - walk it, discover it and when you die everything will be left behind.

5 Truths from Jim's experience #1) What is the best version of yourself? The depersonalized consciousness of the in-between that flows in the now. Letting Go #2 Detachment: Moment by Moment. You are not the center of any universe. Non Dual state of mind. And instead of Or. Allow choices to unfold naturally. Wait as long as you can to allow other possibilities to fully mature, #3) Non- Linear thinking.. Ask Why a problem exists. You don't need memory to perceive a complex and dynamic pattern in front of you. Your intuition #4) Authentic living. BE AUTHENTIC . Own your own faults. Work on your growth. What resonates with you?. What brings out the best in you? Focus on those things. Saving the world starts at home! Share the spotlight. Know the fights worth fighting. #5)Just walk your life. The meaning of life is who you are. What you bring to LIFE is the meaning of Life.

You have a very scientifically inclined brain. I remember once I was a boy and decided I was going to build an airplane. Then quickly I realized how clueless I was, I had no hope of achieving this all by myself. And that was the start of me giving up, or letting go. So Jim, just realize you are very talented mechanically and you are in the top percentile of people who are capable of what you've produced. I was raised where I have lower self confidence that I have today in my 50s. And no children, which the vast majority of people take for granted. But I can tell I lived most of my life knowing what you found during an NDE. My rebirth began occurring at aged 20 becoming clean and sober by grace and receiving help. Giving up and letting go of childish and selfish dreams and aspirations is a constant source of pain and discomfort. I have experienced this for 40 of my last 50 years (since my desire to build an airplane as a boy). Not that I want pity because I know that is no answer or comfort. My job is my service to others, my customers are my social life. I am here to serve. Always. I do collect antique clocks, they are my earthly passion and they are not mine. I keep them for those who made and owned them in the past.

This life is school. Tests are measures of how far we have come and how far we need to grow. Diamonds are the result of great pressure. Sand is the result of many waves. The brain “explains” but the spirit simply sees. Everything works together for good in spite of our mental meanderings. Love is all there is. Pain is due to our lack of insight and trust. God is perfect thus so are we. Pain in this life is due to our erroneous conclusions. All unfolds in perfection. At the end of our journey - love is all there is. Shalom

As a Retired Combat Rescue Officer with 15 combat tours, I’d say this video aligns my life experiences and story arch like none other. Also being compelled to give up alcohol and other vices, I’m curious how you recharge? Also, I’d like to see a part 2 “application”; outlining how you witness to a spouse or child (who are anchored in an anxious world of consumerism and electronics) to personal liberty.
@phatpurrly

I feel compelled to answer this as I have come to a similar state of being through the practice of vipassana meditation. I’ve done 5 ten day courses and served a course and will continue to serve. These courses are difficult but life changing. The atmosphere around my home is palpably less reactive and loving and in that way my wife “witnesses”. I too laid alcohol aside and recharging can be accomplished just by meditation. When you give 10 days of your life to silent meditation you experience a kind of death; a loosening of the death grip of ego. There are vipassana centers on every continent and they are free (you can donate by ability and volition after completing a course) I can imagine a man with your background and training could embrace the challenge and emerge a changed person.

can you tell me more about alcohol and vices? why is there a need to give up them if you dont exagerate?
@phatpurrly
@phatpurrly Жыл бұрын
@@NoSparks The reason alcohol and other intoxicants are unhelpful is that when you engage in serious deep meditation you are quieting the mind and learning to observe very subtile (and gross) sensations on and in your body. This is the key to your "unconscious" mind. Intoxicants make the mind dull and the essential subtleness is obscured. The work then becomes harder, if not impossible. I hope this is helpful.

I found it pleasantly surprising that Jim is literally talking about the quirky, different, yet not dangerous 'me' when he speaks of others living authentically. That's really cool to hear him say these things because this authentic mode of being has tremendous restriction at times that make you long for what others have, yet it's not worth giving up your authentic self in order to live insignificant moments of someone else's idea of success or pleasure etc. The path has been at times, insecure, but full of mystery and not dominated by the mundane or monotony which can be poison to the spiritual self. That oddly doesn't stop me from wanting the spotlight, immense success, fortune or notoriety etc. This dichotomy is a challenge that tugs you in different directions sometimes. I'm familiar with aspects of Jims NDE from my own experiences with the divine. I had one particular experience where I asked to see the birth of my soul and went to a place where I experienced the first level of consciousness, which is pure awareness and connectivity to all things/beings/energy. They later introduced me to my worldly self that had a programmed personality that I was later fuse with to become the earthly me. The fusion of consciousness and earthly personality/self was a trippy experience. You are first curious about the program 'of you' and do not recognize it until you begin to give it more of your attention. This intentional focus of conscious attention starts a fusion process (that takes milliseconds) between consciousness and earthly self, and you quickly start to remember that this programmed earth self is familiar, recognizing more and more of its aspects until you are near completely fused and decide to reclaim this identity in order to fulfill your life path as this person. I felt that I had the choice and ability to remain in a quasi disconnected state between consciousness and earthly self but recognized that the path would be far more difficult if I decided to retain a piece of consciousness and keep it unadulterated by programmed earth self (which is just a personality construct that we agree to fuse with.) I did not have to endure physical trauma and death in order to have my experiences. Furthermore, I was always a curious person, in fact my personality trait "openness to new experience" is ranked in the 98th percentile. So out of 100 people, I'm in the top two for being most curious. I've always been in touch with the divine and liked to ask for insights about reality and meaning of life from a very young age. This is how, I believe, all divine experiences are initiated, including NDEs. I have had many divine encounters of awakening. Those that have NDE's may have not been aware of their ability to connect with the divine and may have sort of avoided it unintentionally until their crash course introduction to their 'connection with the divine' via NDE was upon them.
