Not quite, no toxic residue or leftover water. The old technology was an uncontrolled chemical reaction, meaning all of the energy was released at the same time. Lava Gel tempers it so max temp is 205° F and it holds that for 10 minutes and then slowly falls off. The old tech would get to 300° F Plus and then die, so you use the residual heat from the water to heat food. Very inefficient compared to Lava gel.

There are some similar in Amazon, I’ve been using them for years and they’re much more inexpensive than these. You can drink the water afterwards and mine can be refilled with ice from the store too, think about how you’d freeze again without a freezer if you’re camping for a week +. Mine once they melt, drink the cold water, go get ice and fill, no more water in the cooler making a mess.

@DanBilt
@DanBilt Күн бұрын
The Japanese chemical you mentioned in Barocook is calcium oxide, which has a pH of 12.5, which is considered a dangerous caustic. It also does not "gel" or contain the water, rather it creates a boiling slurry which is a potential chemical burn if spilled. It is also very inconsistent due to its nature, being "slaked quick lime," an ingredient in cement, mined from the earth, from various quarries, at various times of the year with different purities .These inconsistencies create problems in the heating cycle from lot to lot. As to the temperature, food can only absorb heat at a certain rate; you could apply a blowtorch to the food, and it would still only get hot at the rate it can readily absorb the heat. Lava Gel has been designed to match the heat input curve of typical foods matching it's thermal "heat-sink" quotient. The energy output from Lava Gel will continue for up to 45 minutes to give you flexibility in your eating schedule. Please feel free to use Barocook, but I encourage you to try the Lava Gel Oven side-by-side and give us your honest opinion. We appreciate your sincere interest!

The inventor does eat it at shows we have had for other products. Lava Gel has been fully vetted as food safe. It is used in our Thermal face mask directly on the skin. The Gel Matrix is actually a soil enhancement because it allows the soil to retain more moisture and the food grade minerals replenish the depleted minerals from the soil. Lava Gel is patented and is not the same as the Barocook.

*You did NOT invented that principle of cooking.* It's been used by many military forces all over the world (without the container), and known under "flameless heater pouches". In the outdoor industry, the principle is known as "Flameless cooker". And this, since many, many years now. It is branded under multiple names (BaroCook, Trekmate, Hotone, Plume Grove, Hydro Heater, etc. And, btw, "Lava Gel" is being sold in South Korea for many years. No wonder why no major retailer has YOUR product on their shelves and why you only sale on Amazon....

Not quite the old technology was an uncontrolled chemical reaction, meaning all of the energy was released at the same time. Lava Gel tempers it so max temp is 205° F and it holds that for 10 minutes and then slowly falls off. The old tech would get to 300° F Plus and then die, so you use the residual heat from the water to heat food. Very inefficient compared to Lava gel.

10:30 that’s not a new thing. Barocook has this for a couple years. Maybe the minerals are different one. And for me, the prices for several things are very high. Maybe in the USA its ok or low budget but for Europe its overpriced. A sausage stick with motor for 35$, i think nobody would buy that when it doesn’t costs 10€. And i dont know anybody who use such a multitool. And also not for 30 bugs. 😂 21:20 such a heat thing i have it from another brand with batteries. And for me that works. 👍🏻 24:00 thats cool for prepping. But 79$ its far too much. The same thing cost on amazon 45€ from another brand named Fonduo I don’t know them. A cheap Chinese brand. But someone in the comments says that the in Europe normal 227g MSF -1a Butan bottle doesn’t fit.

LavaGel is just a simple Flameless Ration Heater supplied with every MRE since 1993. It's just powdered Iron and Magnesium with the table salt necessary for the reaction kept in a separate pouch. Even the novelty aspect of it: the "gel", is a useless addition because most of the water used to activate the pack is going to turn to steam and be vented out, so gelling the water is not necessary. PLUS by making the water a separate pack that is provided by the manufacturer you're actually removing the problem that you're solving in the first place: using too much water in a FRH. Nice idea, but just buy surplus MRE heaters.
@LavaGelOven-wi5rc
@LavaGelOven-wi5rc 3 күн бұрын
Actually you are wrong. Lava Gel is a huge improvement on the old MRE Heater. Separating the salt allowed us to get a 10+ year shelf life and the Gel is actually the magic that allows us to temper the reaction. Very inefficient compared to Lava gel. we currently use Lava Gel in a skin contact face mask which you could never do with the old technology. It is patented in all of the major GDP's around the world and hopefully soon it will replace the MRE heaters as a safer, better alternative.
@DanBilt
@DanBilt 3 күн бұрын
MRE heaters are 40-year-old technology. Lava Gel fixes all the problems with the military heater. It absorbs all the water immediately, it regulates the temperature to the perfect caloric output for heating food, not going ballistic and scalding anyone holding it. This particular product can keep food hot for up to 45 minutes... let's assume that you fix your meal, and then the bombs start dropping or the bullets flying, or the kids start crying, or whatever... The meal will wait for you, still hot without a mess, even if you had to run with it in your backpack, or throw it in the backseat of the truck. As to the prepackaged water, the Bureau of Land Management Wildland Fire Fighters asked for that; they wanted a complete system, that didn't require measuring or would use water from their hydration packs. This is a professional kit.

Or consider... An improvement to a 40-year-old technology. Lava Gel solves all the MRE issues that have plagued the military since 1983. No more spillage of boiling water because it gels all the water instantly it can lay flat, be carried in your backpack, be handled safely, is much safer and less dangerous, does not overheat, rather produces exactly the right amount of caloric output for the meal. It also stays hot for up to 45 minutes, unlike an MRE which is dead in 20. Yes, you can use an MRE heater, or you can step up to the new technology. Thank you for your comments though... We appreciate all interest.
