I did a similar recipe to this for bloodletters, except changing the color to mephiston red and making a blood swamp. I used limbs and skulls for added decor.

Dirty Down Moss effect is a really nice option as well to add low greenery under the grass tuffs.

a tip: add some Plaquebearers Flesh contrast over the fluid liquid for the water ^^ swamp isnt that clear

Welcome to the hobby! I don't I'm afraid - however to do this I would drill a small hole in the bottom of one foot of the model, then a small hole in the base. I would then superglue a length of paper clip into the foot, and then glue this through the hole in the base, trimming it to size underneath. You can also of course glue the model to the base before painting and be a little careful with this basing stage - I do this 9 times out of 10

Would this be better with or without the model on the base? Wondering as I’d look for flat surface for the feet to stick to, or is this just a general base design with out model for the video? Always been curious ✌️

Normally I'd have the model on the base - this is just to talk through the process of building up the base - obviously you'd need to be more careful with the model on there etc

Silly question, but I’m new to the hobby, how do you now fix the model to the base?

You can use superglue or for something more secure, drill a small hole in the base and the foot of the model, and use a trimmed paperclip to pin into the foot and then through the base - again with super glue. The other option is to glue to the base as normal when building, paint the model and then carefully add the basing material later

Possibly - as long as it dries clear it should be fine!

Have you tried adding flow aid or flow improver with the UV resin to reduce surface? Just want to know if the mixture works.

Do you find that sheet magnets are strong enough to hold an entire regiment on a tray to sheet metal? I use a plastic document box with steel on the bottom to store minis but I’d like to be able to store them in their trays safely. I want to be able to turn the box upside down without any falls.

@@ThePaintingCoach tbh. They are inperial guard.. so really mud is perfect. But i like a ‘street’ effect. So maybe grey dry brushing. Like stone.

Try a different texture paint like astrogranite or astrogranite debris 👍🏻

No it needs UV light to go off - you can leave it in the sun but it might take a while

Stirland Mud texture paste (although any brand mud texture is fine) Deathguard green for the puddles Any glear UV resin for the puddles

I haven't - but should be easy enough to do with black texture paint - ornl brown texture paint like this sprayed black. You can then dry brush it with greys

Yes you can press the model into it while it is still wet to get the area flat - you can use a wet brush to clean the feet if you need to

Yes - I recommend you pin the mini in - you can also press it in while the base is wet, remove it, let the bade dry, then glue

No problem :) drill a small hole using a pin vice - then push a paper clip in to the hole - then drill another hole in the base and push the clip through the hole and super glue the model down
