@@SyedaSamanGulzar The term Hindu was coined by Persians for People of Indus Sindh ( now in Pakistan). Hindu and Indus valley don't exist on the east of Sindh. They are polytheists of Gangudesh. It was Mahmood Ghouri who started calling gangudeshis as Hindus and his conquered areas as Hindusthan. There was no Hindusthan before Ghouri and no India before British. The term India was invented by Europeans for their own geographic references just like they invented the term Africa. Current Pakistani regions, Indian punjab and Kashmir were part of Mughal and British created Hindusthan/ India for less than 700 years, out of its over 10,000 years of history. Kingdoms from Northwest ( current Pakistan) like Maurya, Kushan, Dahir, Pirthiviraj etc have always invaded, plundered ganga jamuna ( current India minus chinese Burmese Tibet Portuguese regions of Northeast "India" and beyond that were forcefully captured by the British and included in their India). Mauryans alone killed 30 million ganga jamnis. Maurya didn't know what India hindusthan or bharat was. If Pakistanis can't claim Ghouri, Abdalli, Mohammad bin Qasim their heroes then India can't claim Maurya , Kusha, Dahir their heroes. Ask south Indians, They hated indus valley and its kingdoms and refused to call themselves Hindus untill Indra Gandhi bombed them twice.

Unlike you Pakistani Punjabi Muslims who rejected and banned the Gurmukhi script, because you believe that any script rooted in Sanskrit is verbotten to Muslims. I bet you guys don't know that Hindu and Sikh marriage is quirte common, not controversial at all, and that there is no contradiction between the two faiths. Millions of Hindus revere Sikhism and visit Gurudwaras more than they do Hindu temples, especially in Punjab and parts of Delhi. I bet you can even tell us apart: for example: can you guess the faith of the followinhg two people by their names: Charanjeet Singh and Vijender Sandhu?

Pakistan has far less problems than the problems India faces. There are 12 freedom fights going on in India but only kashmir is highlighted to blame Islam and Pakistan. The whole northeast India which was created by the British after stealing Chinese, Burmeses, Tibet lands is a no go zone. Even Indians need permit to enter certain regions. Are we the consequence of an identity crisis? I was today days old when I learnt that Muhammad Ali was son of Jinnahbhai Poonja... who was son of Poonja Gokuldas Meghji...a HINDU. Muhammad Ali was part of the first generation that was raised devoid of Hindu practices. So, someone, who was a practical Hindu a generation back, just up and shunned his own lineage so hard into oblivion he created another nation Like did the whole entire family/ clan convert so entirely and completely that they lost all empathy, connection and belonging with the Hindu community? All sense of safety? By that means were his ancestors a generation or 2 back fighting Muslims? Or were they co-existing? At what point did that co-existence became such an impossible concept to them as a family? Was the disconnect a class divide that erupted when Jinnahbhai Poonja became richer than his relatives?

The logic of Adeel sir on Kashmir is a bit weird, dogri is spoken in jammu which is more closer to languages like Garhwali and Kumaoni which are spoken in himachal pradesh and Uttarakhand, than punjabi. Not really. Most Pakistanis don't know about Khalistan movement. It's just that Indian media has painted an average Pakistani as anti-India that people like you are skeptic of anything positive that is seen in Pakistan. Most Pakistanis are not anti-India. They're just normal people with normal dreams of a loving partner, proud parents, happy life etc. India plays no role in our day to day life

The guest lied through his teeth and the host allowed him to continue with his lie. Sikhs did not join the war of Independence or mutiny against British. They were wholly supporting British. Not a single Sikh opened fire against British in that war. The only people who were agitated against British in Punjab were Muslims and Hindus, particularly the latter. Punjab was relatively less hostile to British because its Muslim majority rather welcomed to British take over and considered them preferable to Sikh Shahi.

Hi Shehzad, you may want to examine why Pakistan has dual citizenship and its unintended impact on why Pakistani invest outside instead of in Pakistan. The lack of identity disconnect plays a contributory role in this. It’s why Pakistani Army leaders are retiring to Canada rather than their own country.

Nehru believe the people in the princely state gets to vote whether they want to do India or Pakistan that Jinnah didn't agree. When Pakistan invaded Kashmir in 1948, the king of Kashmir hari Singh signed the instrument of accession to India. So by Jinnah's point of view Kashmir belongs to India. If you hadn't invaded Kashmir in 1948, then Kashmir could have been part of Pakistan but now legally due to Kashmirs king singing the accession it belongs to India. Not only that, Pakistan refused to follow the first step of the UN resolution to withdraw Pakistani troops from Kashmir then India would then there will be elections. Pakistan openly told UN they can't withdraw their troops to the UN hence failing the UN resolution. Kashmir isn't part of Pakistan due to Pakistani politicians. Your loss now cry.

True on the Kashmiri vs non-Kashmiri. Prof Bhim Singh of Panthers Party, and others in pre-1989 JKLF (which had Hindus too), were vocal supporters of Kashmir being a distinct identity from rest of India.

It seems to me you both articulate a few phenomenon in black-and-white (to some extent), for instance, “Hindu-Sindhi mazay mai hai” which is actually not a “complete” truth. Surprisingly, you both missed forcefully conversion of young Hindu girls and low ratio of Hindus employees in public and private sectors. Similarly, during conversation there is a visible impression that Punjab is eating big piece of cake and completely ignored the initiative of Punjabis to migrate foreign lands for better opportunities which brings more prosperity in Punjab.

The only expectation from subcontinent muslims is that they follow the subcontinent culture and not Arab culture which they seem to be more proud about. That way Bangladeshi muslims do a really good job. They speak their local language, use local script, wear saris etc. Infact even Hindutva came into being only because of this Muslim allegiance to a foreign power namely the Ottomans during the Khilafat movement (which is actually Caliphate movement but purposely euphemized). That's when Savarkar got alarmed and came up with his Hindutva pamphlet. Only when the muslims give up this romantic mindset of a Caliphate will the world's distrust towards them will end.

Identity depends on how far back in the history you want to go back to. Every country has somewhat a complexity regarding an intrinsic identity. Several European states have had spats over the same problem. This is not specific to Pakistan.

Pandit Birbal dhar was finance minister of Durrani empire in 1814- 1817. He saw muslims converted hindus and imposed heavy taxes on Them. Then he went to lahore and seek help from Sarkar e Khalsa to take freedom from tyrant invaders and muslims. Theur is on records In 1822 more then 40k Converted hindus came back to their religion.

Indus Valley has always been different from rest of Hidustan. And reality is that most of Indus dwellers were Buddhist not Hindus, Hinduism was imposed upon us. Punjabi was never an ethnicity, the term coined by Persian rulers.
