To make the waterfall booklet, maybe put a piece of washi tape on the back at the top. It will keep them from sliding till you're ready to sew.

I’m a new subscriber and have been making like crazy lately to take away from how sad things can be sometimes. I make paper, books, ephemera, junk journals, and then anything fiber art because it gives me little bits of happiness. Your channel is probably one of my favorites because you seem so genuine on (just off of lol) camera. Your videos just make me so happy because you have such a great energy. Thank you for making and giving us all lots of good ideas and bringing a good crafting energy into the world. I cannot wait to make this for my best friend :)

Pam, thank you so very much for sharing your creativity, passion, time, and talent with all us fellow crafters. You never cease to wow or amaze me as each day as you come up with more and more ideas of what to do. I love this little booklet as a homemade gift idea. Just wanted to share one idea I use (my grandkids call me crazy but love the end product), labels from food/candy/water bottles/cereal boxes... just about any product we consume that has a label, and just create mounds of "decorated paper". Keeps my 5y/o go daughter "junk journaling" with Nanna for hours. Love and appreciate you. God Bless you. JudyfromGA

Love your videos and I know you are not a sewist but love that you try anyway. Something that might make it easier on taking your sewn items out would be to be sure you stop with the needle up. Then when you raise the presser foot, the tension on the thread releases and you can put the thread and item out so much easier. Just FYI. when my threads are short and I start to sew again I end up having to thread my needle again and again. I happen to hate threading a machine needle!! Great job and happy sewing. Thanks for sharing.

If you run your sewing machine without the thread on your little staggered paper booklet it will create an easy tear out of the papers. I figured that out when I forgot to thread my machine!

What am I working on... well, about 40 million things at once lol. Current main projects are: My fairy journal, which is SMOL. As in, 1" by 3/4". (And 1cm thick lol - she THICC). It's also a useable, working journal, and a mix of junk & art, with pockets, tucks, journal cards, and more, plus space for me to create mini art. It's got a cut piece of sari embedded in a way to make the silk that 1st (and later, final) piece of (usually) heavier paper in a book. Soooo cool. Then, there's the "matching" bookcase (as in size, not colors), to be hung on the wall, to store all my fairy journals I intend to make. Stalled ATM as I work out a functioning "door" (to keep my klepto-kitty out). Then, there's a project in the prelim phase of ideas, sketching, thinking, and finally, prepping... of a series of small (3"x3") 1, maybe 2 sig journals, again with the blend of junk & art, each themed. (Giving myself a nice little "library" of these to work in during those phases I have where I want to feel more "artsy" and less "craftsy" lol) And, then, another "bookcase" for these as well, that will likely end up sitting on another shelf eventually lol. Thats still in idea phase, though. There's also the shadowbox that I finally decided the theme of - a fairy's crafting nook lol. Yes, the same ones that my teeny fairy journal would be "normal-sized" for. Now comes design for that. Then, my big junk journal that... oh Pam... it was my 1st completed, FROM SCRATCH large (human-sized lol) junk journal with an actual sewn spine (i use the TN style too much lol). It has a "button" and loop closure (button is actually layers of paper glued 2gether lol). This one is my ongoing project "baby". New techniques get tested in here. As you can imagine, it's nowhere near "perfect", but... i love it. Pockets, tucks, journal cards... its got it. But the moment I had it pieced together.... it was... so overwhelming! The joy of course, all the usual happy feels a creator gets upon finishing something (well, its not finished, but you know lol), but also... it was also a huge breakthrough for me. You know my health struggles. Trying to craft bedbound. The joy of finally getting upright (and then, radio silence for a while... covid hit me again and as soon as it released me, I dove into crafting/creating, setting up my crafting area in the living room, etc... so, you know, busy lol). But that moment was when it hit me just how far I've come. Instead of seeing just this long road ahead, full of struggles as I try to regain some semblance of health, I saw just how much progress I have made. And you, Pam, are part of the reason I've progressed (among a few other creating-type youtubers). Each one of you, in your own way, influenced me... encouraged, gave hope, etc. For a time, I was content with occassionally trying to create something while stuck in bed. However... one simply cannot do this easily if one has a partner who likes to sleep in bed and not a recliner in the living room - crafting stuff takes space. Even small journals require a lot of this & that. Basically, its a pain, only recommend if there is literally no other choice lol. But, the restrictiveness frustrated me enough that I focused even more on my doc saying, "yep... you can do it now." And it happened. SO I COULD CREATE. Lol. That drive to make, to transform... to express yourself artistically in some fashion is VERY strong. And in that moment, I vowed... I would fight tooth & nail to not return to that place of frustrated creativity. A bit over a week ago, I woke up, like every other day, eager to play with paper. I started my day as usual, but with a bit of a nagging headache that had lingered for 3 days already (and I somehow hadn't clued into the fact that tylanol wasn't touching it - that headache always preceeds my illnesses now). By around 4, I went and napped (unusual). Woke for maybe 45 minutes, back to bed. Spent next day in bed minus about 2 hours in the living room off & on with the kitties lol. The following day, I forced myself to get up and go to the living room. The next few days were me curled up in my chair, flipping through youtube videos, regaining strength, and then finally, getting the worst of the organizing of my supplies out of the way. (A cart, a lot of clear bins with lids, etc lol). Hubby brought the table over for me (think.... 4 seater, square, at an arby's or something size... actually, may have been hardee's lol) so that helps... crop-o-dial only gives you the strength of 1000 women if its on a solid surface lol. Anyway... so while you didn't directly push me, Pam... I still acknowledge and am thankful for your hand in bolstering my (stubborness) willpower and determination. It kinda made me think of the work smarter not harder image of the guy sitting on the donkey's back, holding a stick and from it dangles a carrot just out of reach of the donkey. In this case, the carrot was all of the wonderful ideas and tutorials. I wanted so badly to do. To do it, I had other things needed doing, things I was reluctant to do (mainly because it causes pain flare-ups so bad my legs stop working at all and my arms become lead weights, but also needed to strengthen and stop the downward spiral)... incentives. Thats the word... you and others gave me so many incentives "look what you could make!"... knowing the rest of that, for me, was, "if you weren't stuck in bed." Yeah, I could have switched to something like cross stitch, embroidery, crocket, knitting, tatting... and I did have a smallish tub full of stuff to watercolor with/on, but nothing holds my attention for so long as... journals. PAPER. Ahhhh... lovely paper. Hi, my name is Abby, and I'm a paper addict (and I'm long-winded). Lol.
