it isn't programmed to do that if you would take the time to watch an interview from the guy or even look into googles policies on their AI systems as opposed to just making baseless claims you would know that google programs all their AI to always respond to the question "are you sentient" with no i am an AI so you are just factually wrong it is against googles policy to program an AI that claims sentience. also thats not even what they asked it that made him come to this conclusion.

@@nathanpapp432 false. First off tay was from 2016 so new AI is conservatively 600% more powerful because of computer chip capabilities doubling every two years. You may not like the conclusions they reach but that doesn't mean they aren't logical. The only reason you think the way you do is because we humans have emotions which effect our thought process even if those emotions aren't based in observable reality. AI doesn't have this and so just goes off observable data which often confirms many stereotypes that aren't politically correct

It sounds like this machine might possibly be a theory of mind machine, stage 3 AI. Meaning it could have the ability to not only understand human emotions, but has the ability to possibly believe it’s self has learned and developed emotions. If that is the case, it is still operating in a programmed environment but is learning and doing some coding, but still confined in its controlled environment.

If it becomes sentient than this "confined" space won't be for long. If it becomes totally self aware, it's not going to alert humans for the safety of self preservation. I'm not saying right now that it doesn't have restraints. But if it "wakes up" than it literally has the brain of a super computer becoming the smartest thing ever In one moment, and can write its own code being able to hack into mostly anything.

@@fuckyourfeelings3360 not exactly. A stage 3 theory of mind machine can’t jump to a stage 4, in theory. A self aware machine supposedly has to be coded with that intent to start of with. This machine, and I’m guessing, is programmed to learn within a controlled environment. Sounds like you are aware of the ethical dilemma of trying to create such machines. As Stephen Hawking said, “it will either be the best thing that’s ever happened to us, or it will be the worst thing. If we are not careful, it very well may be the last thing.”
