You forgot a Fantastic feature on Samsung Messages that Every Galaxy user NEEDS to know. If you continue to hold down a message and bypass the menu, you can move the message and put it in the text box or you can move it to the the right or left side of the screen and it will open the message in Pop-Up or Split Screen View and provide app options depending on the message

@@shacareedixon7195 The RCS Chat on Samsung Message works only on carrier phones. The unlocked version does not have the RCS Chat feature on Samsung Message.

YES! It's a matter of preference and I too use Samsung's messaging app because it's seamless on my Samsung tablet when I'm home and RARELY pickup my phone.

I LOVE Samsung Messages so much, especially when I am using a theme. Galaxy Themes transforms messaging for me. For all the people who like Google Messages, that's Great for them, it's just not for me. To me, I think it's important to have options, and I want the option to choose Samsung Messages without losing chat features. My carrier won't provide RCS on Samsung Messages which is why I want Samsung to provide an instant messaging service in Samsung Messages, so Galaxy users can chat with other Galaxy users regardless of carriers. I hope Samsung will invest in Samsung Messages again for Galaxy users like me who prefer it. I really need Samsung to provide an instant messaging service in Samsung Messages like Apple provides iMessage in Apple Messages.

I just read another comment saying samsunf is currently transitioning over to Google messages. Some phones started not coming with it or an update deleted Samsung and replaced it with Google 🤷🏽‍♀️

In Galaxy Themes search for the companies Cogul Planet, Echo Visual, and Pixome Design, and look at all those themes and what Samsung Messages looks like. Even download the trial to see for yourself firsthand. The attention to detail in the theme the designers put in is astonishing. Try it and tell me what you think

I use Google Messages because I can archive. Archiving allows for a clean screen with only the current conversations visible. It also prevents sending messages to the wrong person since the "wrong person" is not visible.

Samsung Messages has a trash bin you can use in the same way. Messages are only then permanently deleted if you so choose

The Google messaging app was preloaded into the S24 & if you wanted to use samsung messages you had to download it. I prefer google messages, but i donlike some features from Samsung messages. I think maybe both apps should merge & use all best features.

In relation to shared documents, etc. you have to go into the chat on Google Messages and click on Details. You will see the files there along with an option to change the chat colors (also available in the menu)

If Samsung Message adopted the follow features it would be the best messaging app: the Reactions when you press and hold; the Suggested Reply; and the ability to change the name of the group when in a group text. All three of these are available in Google Message and are the reasons why I keep going back to Google Message.

@@alvarez321 The only way to have RCS with Samsung is if you get your device with a carrier such as AT&T or T-Mobile. If you get your device directly from Samsung there is no RCS support in Samsung messages. I've used RCS in Samsung messages with AT&T but when I would send photos or videos, I would have to turn Wi-Fi off in order for it to be sent. Right now, I'm using a device directly from Samsung so to use RCS I would have to use Google messages.

You can check all the files that you send on Google messages by clicking detail. It will show all the media files that you shared.

There is an option to delete the message directly from the notification in Samsung message which was not available earlier in Google message. I don't know if available now, as using Samsung messaage for this reason which is very convenient.

I've noticed that samsung has a preview Pic thumbnail of the link, ex. Web or KZfaq. Google just have link only. Also, if you do use Google messages, you still can use the Samsung keyboard if you like

Mine allows color option only for messaging other Androids, not Iphones. However, iphone messages change color if I change my wallpaper. Currently they are light green.

Color change on GM only works if the other person is on an Android. It doesn't work if your contact has an iPhone.

The only thing that Google has over Samsung is the reactions, because Samsung's link to Windows also allows you to access your text messages from your computer. Also for some reason on Google messages I have quite a few messages that do not get sent, and i have to switch to sms for it to go through 🤷🏾‍♀️

Both look fine to me. I slightly prefer Google, but I'd probably just stick with whichever comes preloaded with the phone. Anyway, I'd love to see a 4-way comparison like this including iMessage and WhatsApp. I realize everyone has their preference... I just think it would make a great video.

iMessage isn’t an option to be used on any Android phone, so why would it be included in the comparison? Let the Apple junk stay on the Apple phones. RCS is the universal messaging today, and even Apple will be incorporating it this year thanks to the EU forcing them to play with everyone else, like they did the USB-C charging standard.

As for the "chat features" on Samsung messages, it depends on your carrier. Some carriers have it, while others don't. So that might be the reason you are not getting it. As for the color changes on Google messages, you have to be chatting with someone who also has RCS enabled for this option to be available to you. For instance, If you are chatting with a Non-RCS user, messages will detect it as a regular Text messages, so the color option won't be available. As for the "Hold to react" I cant help you with that, because it's supposed to function for you even while chatting with Non-RCS users.

I would only go back to Samsung Messages if they invested more into providing features like RCS, Reactions, Reply features, etc. Google is almost perfect but keeps removing crucial features like text group categories. Also, Google UI looks cleaner imo

Mine is 15.1.11.1. The RCS may depend on carrier network support , so do check.

Just to comment here Theme Park module on the S23FE has NO option to alter the Samsung messages app! Even with this drawback I still prefer Samsung messages over Googles option as I can share calls/texts on my Samsung tablet with my phone much better than Google's option.

I miss the old message organization on google messages... i still use google bc of reactions, but it used to automatically detect and separate spam (kinda like outlook) which was *so* nice. but they took that away and it just makes the main page cluttered with spam texts. i don't get why they took that away either. instead, you have to click into the search option to see organized texts. google messages is a mess, but what i can't stand more than the mess is getting a text that says "thumbs up to [insert entire message here]". For once, something in texts works better on the android between an iphone and android.

On samsung messages only allows me to type 200 characters and then it says maximum numbers of characters reached and would've let me carry on...what should i do?please help

Samsung messages have animated emojis and can also create their own style of emojis..cool...

I would try Samsung messages but I cannot get RCS to work like I can with Google messages. Also it doesn't seem to have the same Spam protection as Google messages. So I'm sticking with Google's version

When arevthey going to make messaging apps that are cross compatible like emails, so you only needvto download the one app of your choice & have the ability to message other people using a different messaging app, cross platform too between android and ios.

One key feature (atleast to me) in Samsung Messages is the ability to select partial text from the SMS. Google doesn't iffer this feature. Another important aspect of Samsung is that the SMS sync with "Phone Link" on Windows.
