As our Pivot NFL Training Camp tour continues, our west coast travels brought us to Oxnard, CA, the summer training spot for America’s Team.
Yes, we went west to catch the Dallas Cowboys in action as the expectations remain high for a Super Bowl run with a roster filled with stars and focus more dialed in than ever.
The Boys’ defensive leader Micah Parsons, recently named one of the top 10 players in the league, is not holding back with his thoughts and hefty goals for the 2023 season higher individually and as a whole, stating his team isn’t just the best team in the NFC East but the best in the league.
The Star defensive player jokingly revealed, "I'm tired of watching SuperBowls in suites. It’s cool being with all the celebs, but man F them, I want to be the one they are clapping for."
Although only entering his 3rd year, Parsons is hungry for the big game in Feb but understands it’s all the little steps, the work, the preparation and the repetition that will make the team much better to withstand the ups and downs of a season.
Setting a standard of only wanting his team to give up less than 10 points a game and ready to take accountability for anything that doesn’t match that intensity and production each week. Confident that Dak Prescott is the leader the team needs on offense, Micah doubles down on the confidence and trust him and his teammates have in one another as they don’t want to feel the way they did last year leaving the field against San Fran.
Trying to balance personal and his football life, being a young father has taught him a lot of patience but also serves as his daily inspiration as he wants his kids to know him as the best to ever do it. A Hall of Fame caliber player and man, Micah wants to earn the respect of the men he lines up against each week and more importantly the respect of his teammates and coaches. And as we wrap the conversation, Micah puts it all on the line and says he is coming for it all this year, the Super Bowl, Defensive Player of the Year and even MVP, although he laughs at his own ambition.

Micah has such an elite mentality for the game and is an overall great guy. Was a fun watch and I’m glad he thinks Dallas is the best. It’s how he should feel and he does have a fair point about continuity. Can’t wait for the battles the Eagles and Cowboys will have this year that we were robbed of last year.

Nobody is mentioning that they also have a new OC. McCarthy is now calling plays. We got new players but we also got younger fresher legs on defense. Just because we got an updated roster don’t mean we got worse. Micah said it himself on draft night. He was hot that we got Jalen Carter now he singing a diff tune

I love Micah I love his additude about winning a Super Bowl and him showing that to the team and spreading that greatness throughout the Cowboys Locker Room I love it I was a teenager in the early and mid 90's when the boys won their Super Bowls. @@3912James I was happy with drafting Parsons but I really wanted Surtain who has turned out to be elite as well but I’m so glad the Broncos chose Surtain and we ended up getting Micah cuz he’s just a level above everyone else in that draft class! The only player I would maybe consider taking above him would be Trevor Lawrence and that only cuz of how important the QB position is to football!

Playoff Totals last 4 games Dak- 1,107yds / 10TDs / 3 turnovers Hurts- 1,019 yds / 9TDs/ 3 turnovers Joe- 1,057yds / 6TDs / 2 turnovers Dak has been better than Hurts and Burrow over the last 4 playoff games. This should be a CLEAR indication that playoff wins involve the whole team not one player, therefore one player (Dak) shouldn’t be blamed for playoff losses. Though individual performances should still be graded fairly.

I love how Micah took accountability for the niners playoff lost in reality he could’ve blamed the offense, niners were averaging over 30+ points a game and the cowboys D held them to 19, when 13 of those were points off of dak turnovers, at some point we have to look at the offense and wonder why they aren’t putting up points.

That day the niners defense was better… defense wins championships… offense did let all of us down but the best defenses hold you to less… Dak and the offense could’ve been better… front office could’ve been better… our second wr last year was Noah Brown and a not ready Gallup… Tony pollard got hurt… diggs whiffed on the kittle catch… A loss is always on the TEAM. Our defense is BETTER this year. So is our offense barring any injuries. 🙏🏽 We weren’t ready yet we got beat.

Also Jordan did baseball for 2 years before he won 3 more championships. Y’all haven’t been out of the divisional round since 95. Man I am telling you Micah is a special kinda MAN. I love this guy for just who he is. You know he's the same guy when nobody is watching as he is when he's on the field as he is mic'd up. You don't find guys like him very often and I am SO happy he's Cowboy. Micah will get us there if they follow his example. So glad to see..........

I love that Micah is letting everyone see his mindset. It's beautiful to know that he understands PURPOSE and PASSION. I teach my students this all the time. Football is a vehicle and GOD allows it to setup a PLATFORM for you to launch so many other things. I love that he understands this and he is a GOOD STEWARD over everything.
