Most well known for his starring role as James “Ghost” St Patrick in the hit Starz series Power, Omari Hardwick sits down with the guys to talk about his career, behind the scenes life and how his character translates into his everyday persona.
Crediting the show Power and the evolution of his character Ghost, Omari say his role allowed people to relate to the imperfections all of us deal with and made a cultural impact no just in the black community but resonating with all people. Omari opens up about his relationship with 50 Cent and how it helped shape his career and also shares insight about the personal bonds formed.
An athlete before acting, Omari relates to the preparation and mindset one has when seeking perfection and trying to be the best at their craft. He explains to Fred, Ryan and Channing that the people who are a little off are the ones who we often admire as they choose to take risks and put themselves out there.
Ryan dives into Omari’s upbringing and family life as he deals with personal choices under a microscope along the way, including his marriage to wife Jennifer.
Channing asks about the sex scenes and what it’s really like with a camera that close during those moments!
The Pivot Podcast releases new episodes on KZfaq and all audio platforms every Tuesday at Noon eastern with special drops on Fridays. Find exclusive Pivot merchandise and stay connected with us at www.pivotpodcast.com.

My mind works the SAME way, i view things on micro and macro level & bring the emotional as well as spiritual into account not just the logical. I love to correlate things into analogies and similarities to really bring a complete overstanding also. Im also a poet, as such it gets misconstrued as "fake deep". Its gotten to the point where in certain rooms i have to "dumb down". I wish it was understood and accepted more (the way my mind works)

Really enjoyed this interview. It’s amazing that Omari keeps pushing forward. I loved his role in power but till this interview I never knew that I loved that role because of him. Ghost as a character is touching and really gets to your heart, because of who Omari is. Great episode keep it up.

This brotha hit it hard in Power. My favorite scene was when Ghost schooled kannon son when he came for him. Ghost turn the tables and took the gun from him and told him , “Your Not Built For This.” He also knew that Kannon had put his son up to this to show loyalty. Ghost gave him the opportunity to walk away without killing him. Thx you Pivot for bringing this🙏🏾☝🏾

THIS INTERVIEW has made me actually SEE Omari in a COMPLETELY different light! I honestly don’t think ANY OTHER INTERVIEWERS could’ve been quiet long enough to actually let him SPEAK, so that we could’ve gotten to KNOW him on such a deep level! WOW… Just WOW!!!! 🤯 One of THE BEST interviews that I’ve EVER SEEN… BOTTOM LINE! Great questions and even better answers!! Omari, I admire you FOR REAL. 🙌🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽 Ryan, Fred and Channing… Undeniable chemistry! Really smart, thoughtful and knowledgeable questions. I love that y’all don’t interrupt your guests. Y’all did your THING 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽

When these actors are on set and on-screen, they make it look easy with their portrayals. But spaces like these allows us to gather insight into how much effort these actors truly put into these portrayals. You get to see the actor’s psyche, process, and approach to how they play a character, and we also get to see just how deeply they immerse “themselves” into their characters.

This is another gem, gentlemen. This conversation went to the deep end and was brilliant and informative. I rock with the fact that Omari H. addressed each topic with such honesty and transparency. Having never watched Power or any of the spin off shows, this Pivot Podcast has really enlightened me on Omari Hardwick, the man. It is beautiful how Omari H. was able to sit down with Channing C., Ryan C., and Fred T. and it seems like I am silently sitting with all of you and am part of the conversation. All of you have a gift and thank you gentlemen, Channing C., Ryan C., Fred T., and Omari H. for sharing this Pivot Podcast with us!

I'm on 52:24 I had to quickly pause because... I have NEVER seen that camera angle on any podcast. This episode is so transcendental it's like we're actually watching something beyond just 4 men talking. And for the director to have the presence of mind to take this angle in order to emphasise the uniqueness of this moment is unreal. That camera shot speaks volumes to the energy and spirit that was in that room.

Amazing convo. Omari is amazing. One of the reasons I love this pod is because you have a group of true Alphas able to have real convos. This is what the “20 something’s” and younger are lacking. More now than ever the media and powers that be are raising the voices of lesser men to make that be the example of a “man” and especially black men. The young men today need to watch this as an example of who to become. There is a difference between being sensitive and soft, between having difficult experiences and being a victim, etc. Omari’s clearly on the same level/vibe. Perfect example that inner reflection brings great wisdom.
