According to my interpretation of BBTM in total the whole thing listened in order is basically an r&b rock hip hopera. The first 3 songs are about the lifestyle, things his mom warned him about, skepticism about love, and finally we are interoduced to the main muse of the record in The Hills. The females (subject and a friend) in Often are probably the 2 bitches he refers to in The Hills that he uses as a front to mask that he's totally not that into this married/cohabiting lady (yeah right Tho, listen to his native tongue at the end) I think she's the girl in acquinted, shameless, dark times (bad timing), earned it, etc. We are even privvy to the abuses of this woman's primary relationship which seems to be marital rape in In the night. Its horribly tragic when he parts with her but in a loving and amicable way in Angel...hoping she can save herself and find real love because he can't right now. So the good news of the story is that he is not as unlovable and unloving as he initially believed about himself but he unfortunately learned how to love with incorrect timing as his object of affection has a ring on it. But as Shakespeare said...it is better to have loved than lost... Ugh so heartbreakingly beautiful. Often is the "pivot point" in the story.....listen in order I'm serious! On the other hand I believe that Starbot is a scifi space fairytale so don't get me started on that noise... (MAT educational theory, linguistics and Ofc minor in writing (mostly poetry courses))
