I used to own the ORIGINAL Chocolate Frog card from the movie on the train, I sold it to buy a computer. I also own and original Hogwartz acceptance letter from the film set, that came through the chimney, I have it in a frame :)

Did you check out the museum context shop over the road? It's definitely worth a look, much 'cuter' inside and far more interesting. It's even got a photo and props area. They don't sell the clothes, but have lots of other merch. I prefer it actually.

The expensive plush items are handmade by Steiff in Germany. All Steiff items are expensive and the limited edition items often more so. They are mainly bought by steiff collectors and often keep some value. Steiff claim to of made the first teddy bear and if you want a Steiff bear from the 1920 or 30’s then you would expect to pay from about £1200 for one in poor condition.

I'm from germany and I didn't even knew that Steiff made plush's for the franchise. But yeah their quality is stunning but so the prices are^^'

I can say that smaller harry potter shops like the ones in Edinburgh costs less than those in London don't you think?

I'm always so conflicted about these small-scale Harry Potter shops. On the one hand I love browsing round them, especially since a lot of them put so much effort into making their shops so pretty and the people who own them are often lovely. But on the other hand, the prices mean that it's difficult to actually buy much from them. I would love to be in a position where money doesn't matter so much but when you have limited spending money, the logical choice is to buy online where you can get items, particularly Noble Collection items, a lot cheaper than these stores sell them. Not that I blame them, they need to be higher for them to make a living. But it's a hard predicament =/

Items for daily use i.e crockery, clothing apparel, bag's, plus toys etc need to look high end and durable but WOW - I would not buy a plush toy made by the "German Manufacturer". A hundred pounds for a plush toy would cost 2000 Rands in my currency from South Africa!
