As you rightly pointed out, these winners are battle hardened and have strong local support. Congress would have won many more if they had strong polling agents. The winners not only got enough votes, they also ensured that the EVMs did not play spoil sport.

people were unhappy with the bjp candidate, I think bjp itself is popular in UP. Most people in my constituency don't even know the name of the sp candidates that won. I think that could be possible for other mp mentioned in the video as well, I don't think they had an especially good campaign or were popular themselves. next time bjp will nominate new candidates as by themselves they are still popular.

Exactly...listen to Gurdeep Sappal ...that due IT freezing their bank accounts..they did not have money to even put up a horadong until 4 th phase of election...this was a an election where the ruling party nominated the EC commissioner...chose their election schedule ...put 2 opposition CM in jail on th ever of election....froze bank account (250 cr) of the congress..arm twisted several opposition candidates to withdraw their nomination..still the ruling party fell short...

Anti incumbency against Naveen Patnaik in Orissa & Jegan in Andhra Pradesh made unexpected sweep for NDA in Orissa & Andra Pradesh. Over confidence by Revanth Reddy & DK Shivakumar cost 15 -20 seats to Congress in Telangana & Karnataka.

Cong fought alone in the Kerala during 2024 and 2019 and yet managed to get 15/20 seats. In TN, when DMK fought without congress' support in 2014, they won 0 seats there, AIADMK got 37/39. Whereas in both 2019 and 2024, UPA/INDIA managed to get 39/39 seats. So it is a kind of symbiotic relationship in TN, where DMK is a major player. Sorry to disappoint you.

@@jatinguchiya3209Congress can win Kerala alone. But TN is a different story. Without DMK or ADMK they are nothing. 2014 had a pro ADMK wave. So DMK lost all seats. It wasn't because they didn't ally with the Congress. TN sometimes gives landslide elections. In 2004, ADMK alliance got zero seats. In 2014 they contested alone in all seats and got 37/39. Even in 2014 DMK had 23% vote share and Congress had 4%. Allies don't matter in TN. It is either one of the 'Kazhagams' always. Outside Kanyakumari district Congress can't even win an MLA seat on its own, let alone a Lok Sabha seat.

other than caste survey, wealth re-distribution, higher reservation, khata khat money transfer without explaining where it comes from - can anyone explain what are RG's policies ? Did any of his party ruled state implement any job creating policies while opposing all reforms ? by the way, is RG going to take up LOP or give it to his family member or another leader whom he could control ? honestly, without answer to these, it's unlikely much would change in their fortune. Finally, UP, Maharashtra, to an extent Rajasthan decided election, more due to BJP's mistakes. It's unlikely, RG would get that benefit next time.

I agree that Rahul Gandhi and Congress should now start claiming other positives from this election. Modi was defeated and it is done now. If you keep claiming this, then it will become repetitive. I alos agree with Kerala should be handed to Tharoor and Assam to Tarun Gogoi. Bihar should be handed to Pappu yadav to work on the ground and RJD should be managed by Rahul and Priyanka. Congress should start creating/empowering leaders.

just take a look on LS elections when DMK fought alone. like in 2014, both cong and DMK fought alone, and both of them received 0 seats. and in 2019 and 2024, they managed to get 39/39 seats together. so somehow, it is quite crucial for them to stay together there. BJP also fought alone in 2014 in TN. they got 1 seat out of 8 they contested with 5.6% vote share. This time it was 0 out of 23 they contested with 11% vote share. So it really doesn't look like too much of progress given the resources machinery and energy they have used in TN alone.

Without congress there is no national narrative for DMK and it’s the magnet of minority vote only if combined with AIDMK or DMK, if you have congress then the Muslim league,Communist and Dalit parties will be comfortable to join hands with DMK,Stalin giving 10 of 40 seats is not because of 3% vote share but it’s a force multiplier .. without congress DMK will be just like BRS or YCP or BJD or AIDMK

Good analysis but most of these Young Faces ( except Deepinder hooda) might not get tickets in 2029 polls. Once congress wins it basks in winning glory and forgets people who toiled hard for victory. Sachin Pilots case in 2018 is a best example. Vishal Patil remember did not fight on Congress ticket but as an Independent.

First of all, reporters like you should be ashamed of yourself. The formula of unlimited freebies that has been started by Rahul Gandhi is so deplorable and the whole caste politics that he and his allies moved their entire election platform on. Lets face it, that is what has won them so many seats. Did you counter the fake news spread by the almighty Rahul Gandhiji? No. If you want to be honest to your profession, just be brutally honest like Ajit Bharti. The guy is hated by everyone since he exposes everybody's double standard regardless of the side. @@LeoDas688 I earn my own money. I don't need freebies. Incidentally, I bought a house whose cost dropped due to succession of demonetization and covid19. The cost was significantly lower by well over 15Lakhs due to the fact the previous owner was suffering due to lack of fluidity coming from removal of his black money. We could buy house with 100% white money and he could not say no! I am sure I was not the only one who benefitted from demonetization in this rather unexpected way.

Historically, Congress always had more and much more popular regional leaders than the BJP. Of course it has much to do with the legacy of the Indian National Movement. But also BJP is a more centralised machine, having the conservation streak.

You are more happy than Congress. Do you have any formula for Congress to win at least 250 seats on their own? Share that. If Congress wins Harayana, Punjab, Assam and Kerala with 100 seats, they can't get a majority in Parliament. The Congress supporters are so happy that they got 99 seats, they don't evaluate why did they not get additional 150 seats? With Congress getting 99 seats in this election, Congress will not revamp, revive their party at all for next 5 years. They can't rely on BJP'S failure. In short, India will get weak opposition for the next 10 years.

there is increase in more than 100% seats than the last time and from what all of the country was expecting even this time. they were betting for congress to get even less than 50 seats this time. just look at their strike rate in states like UP and Maharashtra, they've won 14/17 seats in Maha. and 6/15 seats in UP. That too with the average vote share of more than 45% in each seat in UP. Even in the seats like Kanpur and Deoria where upper castes are dominant. So there is a slight change in the mood of the nation, which is quite visible. it is not the proper time for congress to celebrate like this but still its trajectory is moving in a good direction. they just need to amplify this.

had there been no phulwama we wont be talking about bjp today. It proved. we lost valuable 10 years now 15 years because of supari anna rai media and all independent institutions. Did you notice calcutta high court's verdict during the election. Its extraordinary to think that opposition fought in this election not just against bjp but all the other pillars of democracy who are supposed to do their job independently.

A short term victory for the Gandhi family..It will increase their stranglehold on the congress party.. But in the process, it may have destroyed its credibility..by making unfulfillable promises .....and losing its tag as a party that could trusted to defend hinduism, religious freedom and secularism in India..Its support for DMK that wanted to eradicate sanatana dharma ...will not be forgotten...and its silence on the mass rape of hindu women in sandishkhali will be remembered for a long time to come..Of course its policy to redistribute wealth to "minorities, especially muslims" may come back to bite the party...

Tbh, I have found that my respect and appreciation for Rahul Gandhi has grown greatly over the past 2 years ever since he started his first Bharat Jodo Yatra 🙌🏽 Wish him the best of luck and it would be an amazing story and an amazing moment to behold if he actually does become Prime Minister of Bharat in the coming years. Wish to see that happen, just to restore my faith in the goodness of humanity.
