Just wanted to say thank you. I wasn’t getting power to the fans on the radiator on my H170i. I couldn’t figure it out because the directions weren’t clear on looping a cable from the end of the radiator to the side/top of the radiator. Seeing you do that instantly fixed the problem and ended my woes. I didn’t see the port on the side/top when I installed the radiator so was clueless to its existence. Thank you!

Same here, although the suspiciously short length of some of the cables had me hunting for a guide a lot earlier in the process. When I found this video my first thought was "how the heck is that not in the manual?" So I went back and checked. I wish I could paste an image here, because it's so dumb. It's angled from above the fan, so you see the connection to the controller, and a cable going off the bottom of the image. If you look closely enough, you'll see a few millimeters of it looping back up and disappearing behind the edge of the fan. That's it. The actual connector is not visible whatsoever, and nowhere else in the manual is the connector on the side of the fan shown. Someone decided these were clear enough instructions. Sheesh.

I think Corsair realized that not including the mini cable with the single fan was a bad move. I just purchased the AIO, 3 fans, and a single fan -- and the single fan came with the cable in the box.

Just got most of my parts for my new build and am going with this link set-up. Going to go with the H150i Link AIO, then replace the two 120mm fans on my GPU Radiator with the Link fans, then link to two more 140mm QX fans on the bottom of the case. And Finally connect the rear QX fan to the AIO or the bottom fans. (Have to see the space situation first) As a FYI, Corsair is now selling the Link AIO Radiators with the LCD display. (Also has the standalone LCD you can replace the old one with but it's on back-order atm) Many thanks for the video! Knew the basics for this already, but this video makes it a lot easier to understand.

Wow. So much easier than the Commander and Commander Pro and the link nodes. Cables are just everywhere with those. Fan control cable, RGB control cable, multiple commander nodes, etc. just makes it one big mess with trying to wire manage it. I am seriously looking at going this route with the new link system.

You sir have helped me solve my problem, you have the same fan setup as me and near enough the same case as me, i needed help with how to connect the single rear fan..because i originally had it on its own socket in the system hub and the others all on the second hub, i felt like thats why i was getting a notification about the brightness being reduced due to system hub limitations even though i was sure one hub could manage the LCD screen,3 rad fans and 3 front fans equaling 7 for one socket

Just to let you know: I bought a iCUE Link QX120 RGB Expansion Kit (single Fan) and I had an extra cable in it. I just did a full 10 Fan 5000D Case build and I didn't needed any additional cable. (2x 3fan expansion kits, 1x 1fan expansion kit and 1x H150i RGB kit) - The only thing that worries me, is the motherboard cable behind the fan/radiador. They are mega tight.

It sure does. I just finished transplanting everything from my old case into the 5000D Airlfow and am using 6 corsair fans with the commander core XT. It's important to note there's a limitation of 7 devices per connection side on the hub. That means if you have a Corsair 7000 case and want to mount 4 120mm fans on the front and 4 on the side, there's one fan that can't be part of the daisy chain and needs to be cabled separately. Likewise, in an AIO setup with a push/pull configuration, so 6 fans, and the rad itself counting as a device too, you're already maxed out. So you can't have your rear exhaust linked to the rad and would need to cable that separately as well. But the hub only has two connections for a maximum of 14 devices. So in a setup like that you're at 16 devices and thus you'll need two Link hubs to connect them all -- and long cables to loop all the way from one side of the case to another. Which might be a problem since the longest Link cable is only 600mm. The Link system would work decently well in a 5000 case, where you can 'only' have 6 intake fans on the front, bringing you down to 14 total devices. But still, if you have a push/pull AIO you're going to have to connect your rear fan all the way to the front fans because the AIO completely saturates one side. So I feel the system is really contradicting itself. The concept is great because you minimise cabling immensely when you have a large amount of fans - such as their cases *enable* you to have - yet the system doesn't work well if you do. Which could be remedied instantly if it would allow just one more device per side. A missed opportunity if you ask me.

Would love to see you make this build but in a Corsair 7000D airflow white. I would like to know if it's possible to set 4 fans in the front, 4 in the side, 1 in the rear and then the 3 AIO fans up top without any issues.

The cable thing isn't that bad. Just installed a QX140 starter kit. Then after confirming the other fan sizes, ordered another single QX140. Both the kit AND the single come with a short right-angle cable. Not sure if it's an update or not, but unless one is trying to connect something way across the case, or a straight plug is either ideal or a must for "perfection," you're set.

It's a big step forward but we are not there yet. We need a joint effort to make the "connections" already at the case and a new plug in the motherboard that receive device ID, RGB, PWM and Tacometer and power out. At the case one single plug would plug at this new mobo plug where we control fan RPM/profile, RGB lights, pump, etc at a software level. System wide compatible with any fan/pump/etc using this new standard.

With your set up you leave 2 slots on the aio fan near the exhaust fan and you can plug this in there in one of the slots of that fan... I have the aio wires to the back of the case but it gives me only one slot on a fan because the aio pipes are in the way effectively stopping me from daisy chaining the exhaust to the aio fan.

Am I wrong in think that if you buy the starter kit, the h150i kit and a single fan you should have enough cables to connect it all up without buying an additional cable?

Like what they've done, I used to have a full Corsair water loop (GPU/CPU block, reservoir and 10 fans)...the wiring was a total nightmare, I had to use 2 Commander Pro's and 2 Lighting Nodes to control it all lol. Just worked it out and I would need to spend a tiny bit over 680quid to switch over to LINK system (7 Fans and the 360 AIO LCD). To me, this is totally NOT worth it, I am better off getting the Arctic Freezer III and 10 Arctic P12's for around 140quid (3 spare fans) and spend that 540quid I have saved on a i9 14900K. I also however like the fact you can use iCUE, set all the LED's to the colour you like using Hardware Settings, then uninstall iCUE and use something like Fan Control (Free and lightweight) to control RPM's. Anyway, great video as usual, just wish Corsair would stop making things that are so expensive, 4quid for a Arctic P12 or 50quid for some RGB and a Temp sensor that you'll probably not use.

Dammit, my 1000w Strix PSU connectors are maxed out, running a 13900k+4090 😭 time to pick up a Thor P2 😏 Got the Lian Li fans in currently but wanna got back to iCUE like I had with my QL120s (still the best looking RGB fans ever). Great run down, they could have definitely done things a little "better" but at least they finally delivered a product to match the competition, although I feel Lian Li has a much less intrusive low profile slide connector. Anyhoo, gonna pick up the iCUE LINK H150i and a bunch of QX120s 👍

Bought the h100i rgb, the set of 3 fans, and a separate 140mm exhaust fan on to find myself having to order an additional cable for £15 because for some stupid unknown reason, the next usb hub is not compatible with corsair devices so the cooler and fans don't show in icue software. Also, greedy corsair have made the fan connector their own prioperity slightly wider than standard male to female connections essentially forcing us to have to buy their own cables. Looking at the back of my pc case now compared to before, it has reduced on cables at all, save for a few the were only slightly visible with the older fans and aios. I feel like I've been mugged tbh

Just to be sure, daisy-chaining all the fans + the liquid cooler together won't overload the motherboard or power supply in any way? I plan to do the AIO, 2 140's on the side, 2 140's on the bottom, and 1 120 on the back.

I have a lian li xo dynamic with 9 fans and I’ve got the three on the cooler working and the 6 on the other surfaces connected to each other. My question is how do I connect the 6 on the other surfaces because they only have two ports. If I connect them it doesn’t leave any open ports to connect to the main box. And I’ve tried going the other way and grouping three fans with the three fans on the aio cooler and it says it has reached maximum connections on the main. I think it’s because it counts the pump as a connection but that would still only make 7 so I’m confused. What am I doing wrong?

(The other 3 are powering my GPU) Can I use the last 6 +2 for the 6 pin that goes to the controller? Or is that too much power for the controller? Not sure how it all works.
