I just drove for a distance of 300miles on the highway - having this album on repeat. When I arrived, I felt like I traveled through space & time. Best purchase I made this year... probably the best album I bought in years. Easily one of the best records I listened to in my whole life. It's as close to perfection as it gets. Favorite tracks: Nattväsen, ~42°, Loss Aversion /// CBL... thank you for this piece of art, it gives me peace of mind.

And one small note about traveling in space and time: we always do, even when you just lay down on the ground, you still traveling thru space on huge piece of matter that we call Earth. Universe is moving and we are part of it. Being is movement.

The emotions this album conveys is incredible. I always come back to it. If you're having a tough time dealing with the loss of a loved one, please know, it was never goodbye. Love never dies. I too in a similar theme.. I started with Jean-Michel Jarre (in 1977), then Vangelis, then Kraftwerk, Klaus Schulze, Tangerine Dream, then I discovered all this awesome music on KZfaq.. Ive been addicted ever since to Brain Dance music... Im 53 and still bopping away to it..

I accidentally stumbled across CBL about a month ago. The cover art for this album is hypnotic and drew me in. I know it came out in 2017... but it's my 2021 favorite. They should have used these tracks in the movie Bladerunner 2049. This album would have been the perfect accompaniment.

I understand exactly what you're trying to say. It's weird, because other ambient producers just don't sound quiiiiite right. But CBL know how to build a complete album that just works. There are other Ultimae artists that can make amazing tracks, but overall, making a complete piece work, CBL seem to be the only ones.

I have the same feeling about their music. It has to be something about frequency. Some music just sounds good and we like it but some triggers the very core of our consciousness. I guess there is music for the mind and music for the soul. And CBL music is for both :')

It's not only frequency - it's rhythmic delays and their hallmark liquid SFX, as well as pads/drones washed by the long reverberation. Also they use subtle side-chaining on their bass lines quite a lot that creates rhythmic pump feeling.

Same. I think it's because CBL isn't afraid to bring the warm feelings of the new age genre into their music. So it's kind of dark and atmospheric, yet warm, glowy, smooth. It's what sets them apart from anyone else and why I've loved them for so many years.

I am growing into being a fan of Carbon Based Lifeforms! They make music with electronic instruments, giving them a tremendous sound pallet to make acoustic paintings. They create symphonies of sound paintings.

It's impossible to listen to just one track on this album. When Accede starts I'm unable to stop listening to change to any other track. This is the best electronic music album I've ever heard, and one of my favorite albums ever, no matter the genre!

After the explosion of electronic ambient dub and ambient hypnotic bands of the 90s, the age had passed and muzik peaked in that Genre. Then came Carbon Based Lifeforms.

Man...CBL is soooo good. I still hold that Interloper is their best album. In my opinion, I'd say it's a perfect album...in the sense that you can listen over and over again, all the way through, and never get bored with it. Refuge was always my favourite CBL go to album for the first two tracks over the 12mins but I've found myself scrolling to 43:00 to 49:00 on Derelicts, love this section. I'm very impressed with this album, many thanks for sharing, nice wee natural high listening to this while working away in office.

You know how good ambient music is when you are so lost in your process/monologue, you don't even notice that you notice it, and that it is quietly helping you stay in your focused flowstate and get stuff done. This is why CBL. much like Stellardrone, and H.U.V.A Network are so awesome. :)

yes sitting here, quietly listening to this high on mushroom:>> what a lovely feel what alovely dream, around and around on the keyboard my finger's go, to feel out the time and space as it pass thru them into another part of me, as i slowly slip from here to there and back and again. can't seem to close my eyes to feel this one thru, but here i am, now and for ever every part of me whole and apart, floating and slipping into this wide open space of dark and light, only reflection i say, feel them be apart of you. there is no past and no present this is now, only now. there is no future as we see it, cuz we are here in the moment there everything is this part of now, we can't put ourselves to somewhere where we havent been yet, but feel it, breathe it, be apart of it now, and there is not end to the now we are in. all for it's all, in darkness and in it's light for it's reflection and it's non shape and form of life.

I love Nattväsen. There's a forest on my way home from work where I sometimes stop for a walk. One time it was approaching dusk and I listened to that track while walking amongst the trees in the twilight; amazing experience. :) :) :)
