I had an all white cat for many years. He was around 17 when he passed away. He was odd eyed and also a polydactyl. He was a great friend and companion and extremely smart. His name was Olaf and he was very special. He sat in a shelter for a long time and nobody would adopt him because he had food allergies. I adopted him and over time cleared his allergies and loved him and cared for him to the end of his life. The people that didn't want him lost out because what a special cat he was. I miss him every day and I know that will never change. I've had many animals throughout my life, both cats and dogs. They are all unique and special but every once in awhile you come across one that is exceptional and you don't see it right away but over time it becomes apparent. I watched this video because of my dear sweet Olaf and so I just wanted to tell people about him because I miss him and love him. RIP OLAF

I understand---we've had many pets and varieties over the years, and I agree. Some are simply put into our lives as extra-special. Those people in the shelter who did NOT adopt your White Olaf---were Guided to leave him there, because YOU and Only YOU were Meant to have him. You were the only one willing to go to the extra effort, and Olaf's Spirit Grew and raised you up as well. Win-Win! You'll see him again, be at peace.

How sweet!!! I just spent $4,700 on teeth extraction for my Calico lady. She's up there in age but all her labs were really really good and I didn't want to see her suffer with infected teeth (gingivostomatitis?) for any longer. So that's what I did. She's going back tomorrow for her follow-up. She seems to be a lot more happy even though she doesn't have any teeth. I just feel like that's part of the package when you adopt an animal. Actually, they kind of adopt you.

My first cat was a white cat. She was a stray that I started feeding so she stuck around. Her pristine beauty hooked me immediately. It wasn't long before I got her spayed, microchipped and put it my name. She went from a stray to a queen. Chicken, tuna and turkey everyday. White girl cats are so darn cute!

I have a pure white cat with green eyes, she is not deaf. She is part main coon and she loves to sunbathe. I've had her for over 17 years now! 😻 I haven't been 'lucky'. 🙀

I had 1 white cat with gold eyes, a cat after that who was white with blue eyes, one after that who was also white with blue eyes, and a cat after that who was also white with blue eyes. None of them were deaf

Here in our home, we have almost always had cats---most of them rescues from one source or another. We are currently on our second long-haired White Cat, and he's an Odd-Eye! One blue and one green, so I enjoyed learning a little bit more about his genetics. As a life-long cat lover, I can attest that ALL cats are "selectively deaf", whenever they choose to be. 😉

My first cat when I was a kid was all white,with one blue and yellow eye.She also had extra toes on her front paws,which made her extra adorable!We got her from one of my dad's co- workers,who was moving and couldn't take her with them to their new place.Her name was Missy- she was ten when we got her,and lived about another ten years after that.I still miss her; if I ever adopt another white cat,I'd probably call her Missy after my first cat.

I have a white cate. She has very pale blue eyes but if the light hit them just right they are red. She can hear but not very well. My vet did say she is an albino

When i was in my early 20s, I was driving to a party, and nearly ran over a white kitten sitting in the middle of the road. I immediately hopped out to make sure it was ok. When it saw me, he ran up to me and climbed up my leg. He was a smol fluffer, and his mother was unfortunately found a few yards back along the side of the road evidently hit by someone else. I could not just leave him there, so I made the comfiest box I could and he came with me to the party. Let’s just say my little buddy and I were a hit at the party. :). I took him home with me, but unfortunately I was in an apartment with a strict no-cat policy. But we called the landlord to explain and he gave us 4 weeks to find it a new home. In that time I did figure out he was deaf, which is probably why he didn’t move when I nearly ran over him. Luckily my sister had a friend who’s grandfather was looking for a new companion so he was able to take him in and give him a loving home.

after watching this video, I feel so lucky i actually saw a stray white cat (with blue eyes and it’s a boy) he was so cute, whenever he heard my voice he would come running to me! I loved the video! keep it up :)

I have two white cats, one is a munchkin with blue eyes and the other has long legs with green eyes. They are brother and sister. They are both American curl as well.

You should be ashamed of yourself for having a munchkin. The people who breed them should be ashamed of themselves. You should look up how they breed them it's appalling. They have spinal issues just like dachshunds. It's so sad what they suffer when giving birth they have to have C-section unlike normal cats

My white cat , name Mr Cat, is not deaf, and has green eyes. He is nearly one year old. When wet, you can see blonde on top of his head, and in his mane. He has weekly bath, since he was young. It's keeps his fur very white. It is a combination of short and long. It's very soft to the touch. He only likes the sun in small doses.

I have 3 white guys. 2 have odd eyes...1 green and pale blue, 1 gold and bright blue...and 1 with 2 yellow eyes. None of my indoor Ghostly Trio ( Piss'n' Vinegar, Little Taller and Basmati) are deaf and all are unrelated shorthaired rescue boys. Each is very different from the rest...but my furgirl Tarbaby( One Toke) rules them all!

I had a white cat called Alex, he certainly was not deaf, he could hear you open the fridge or a bag of chips when asleep. He was a beautiful and living boy, very intelligent. He lived till he was 16, miss you baby boy

I loved this video! My white cat has heterochromia and a small spot of gray on her head, ear, and tail. I did a bit of research and discovered the Kao Manee breed of cats that originated in Thailand. They are white and often odd-eyed. I was surpried you didn't mention them in this video! 🙂

We had a sweet odd eyed short hair male cat from the pound in the eighties. His name was Max and not deaf. We loved him very much. Also we got a black stray female kitten at the same time. She was named Inka and rode on my shoulder. So sweet.

We have one of the rarest kinds- my fluffy white Queen ( a rescue who came to us anemic due to flea infestation) has blue eyes and is not only not deaf but is extremely sound sensitive. She is outgoing, strong willed and super affectionate especially with my daughter who has autism. Snowy is her cat and is basically her support animal never leaving her side and constantly climbing on her giving my daughter a ton of comfort round the clock! We didn’t know that almost all white cats with blue eyes will be deaf until someone working at a cat cafe was shocked to hear about our cat.

I had a black cat for 16 years and she was not bad luck not at all . But last year before my 18 year old male cat died a white Tom cat started showing up and eating the hedgehogs food . He was a stray or something he was out all night in all kinds of weather . I got him a little kennel so he had a dry place to sleep because it was nearly winter . Now he’s my cat and he doesn’t even like going out in the rain and he stays in at night he’s getting used to living in a house now . But I do think that he’s deaf in one ear though but he’s ok . He’s got a owner and a warm home with lots of food and everything that he wants or needs .

I live in Greece. and rescue and rehome needy cats and kittens. Over the years I adopted a long haired white cat (Kelly) a blind short haired white cat (Phoebus) and my beautiful Asprooli who recently died of a heart attack under my bed. I miss him every day.. I had 3 white cats in my life and they are the best. All of them came to my house someday just like that. I loved them so much. My Buddy died just couple months ago from skin cancer and I was sooooo sad, god I miss him. I will have another white cat one day for sure.

I think reason #9 (They're media darlings) explains why this is so surprising. They may be only 5% of the cats in the world, but you see them way more often in movies and TV.

@@benjaminrobinson3842 The lady who runs the You Tube channel Kitten School had a litter of white kittens she was fostering about a year ago, but she's too far away for me to get to. I certainly would have taken one otherwise. They were all snapped up in no time. I check in with our local animal shelter regularly. No white kittens but plenty of others. 4 of our present cats came from this shelter.

I have one my wife says needs a home. About 4/5 months old i guess. Some fool dumped her. Cant yet touch after a month. Needs shots and spayed. She has a beautiful face, green eyes and a gray head blaze and very long tail she curls all around her feet while sitting. Willow is her name.

I have a white male cat, his mother was also white. Thanks god he isn't deaf and talks a lot, like when I say something to him, he always replies. He never bites and never scratches a fine gentleman. He likes to imitate whatever I do, and steals my socks.

There was a stray white cat that we eventually adopted. She was on the streets her whole life, but took to the house very well. She ended up being pregnant! She had 4 kittens, though one didn't make it. 3 were pure white like her and one looked like his dad. (The one that didn't make it was one of the white ones) None were deaf though

Hello! Thanks for the fun video. We have a big white cat named Yeti of course! He is a sweetheart with gold eyes. He's purring on my lap right now. Our very first cat was a Turkish van, with a tabby stripe over his eye, a spot on his back and tail. He lived 18 years. I love cats!

i had a calico that gave birth to several white kittens - except for a small patch of dark fur between their ears. i named one Spot of course, my sense of humor and dogs are cool as well. my daughter kept another and my neighbor another. none were deaf nor became deaf. very striking looking but even better as furry friends PS the old saying of if there wasn't bad luck, I've had no luck at all applies to me - altho all my cats have been awesome

I’m on my third white cat and she has just turned 17! Both eyes are blue and she definitely isn’t deaf! Unfortunately they feel the cold and are always looking for sunny spots to sleep and are very prone to cancer on the ears! My first white cat had yellow eyes, was not deaf and died from breast cancer at the age of 16!

I was blessed twice with two white cats. The first was an odd-eyed female stray who struck around after figuring out we had food. Unfortunately, she passed away from illness. The second one is her child, who lives with us to this day.

I have an all white cat with blue eyes who is deaf. She had 3 kittens and all of them were all white too! One had blue eyes, one had green eyes, and one had one of each. They all went to different homes but last I heard, none were deaf.

Not Homer but he is more like a red siamese. He is up early in the mornings unsuccessfully hunting. Peeking out from behind trees is his technique but a big fluffy white and red eared cat with blue eyes is hard to miss. I tell him he is just a pussy and too pretty to be a guy cat. He curls in my lap and snores.

We have two blue eyed white cats in our family and they are quite the celebrities round our Close! One is particularly friendly but the other is a little more cautious around strangers! They both have quirky personalities and are very intelligent. They are nearly 8 years old now, and there is no sign of deafness in either of them!

Very interesting video. I have two white sister cats. They each had a single dark spot on their head when born, and both have disappeared. One has gold eyes and one has blue eyes. My blue eyed girl is deaf. Their mama has two blue eyes and she is not deaf. Their coats are different and their body type is different. In the genetics lottery, you just never know who will get what. I also put a uv film on their favorite window so they don't get sunburned.

I have two cats from the same litter one is a huge tuxedo cat named Gizmo.. his brother is about half the size & all white with tan patches around his ears, and a tan patch about the size of my fist, near his bum. We call him Simba and he has the most beautiful/striking blue eyes! (Definitely/gratefully not deaf!)

I had a totally white cat with green eyes for 15 years and she could absolutely hear, especially the food pouch being opened. She died last year and I miss her terribly. RIP Gizmo Moonbear.

Ive always chosen black cats. I got a white off craigslist. Their cat got pregnant by the neighborhood male and were gonna keep him but he hated the kids. They were too restraing and would scrath them and hiss. Hes a nice male cat who head bumps my hands for chin scratches when he wants only ( food dish empty usually) and generally doesnt like to be touched anywhere else but very lightly. Sleeps with my dogs, on my bed by me and my black cat and grew up along with a calico I got same time. He is kinda big and more gentle than the calico despite being a pissed off kitten who hated kids. Finn. Ive had a lot of cats at 70. Had never noticed one in any adds but always was curious.

My white cat can hear and has 2 blue eyes... he seems slower than other cats. He has thick fur.

One of my first cats was white...he had green eyes and it wasn't long before I knew my little floof was deaf. He was a sweet boy and I miss him. I didn't realize how special he was!

beacue you just taught mr the difference between albino and white cats, im now questioning the three years i spent with my fluffy boi whether he was just white or albino

I have a blue eyed white cat with floofy long hair. He has a few spots that are tan-ish on his head and paws as well as his tail is the same color. He was a stray. I call him Mr Meowgi
