Toe Tote yep. She could have been a stay-at-home mom for free. Borrowed $25k for school which is now stalling because she’s a mom?? Yeah, her mom has every right to be mad. I do have a feeling however if she was enrolled in school as in currently going to class, studying, etc. then her mom wouldn’t have an issue with anything.

The mom is probably upset because she had student loan debt and is a stay at home mother. She is probably thinking weird thoughts. Just like when someone owes you money and they say I’m going out to eat or the mall, but you think I’m your head how are you doing that when you owe me money.

Honestly if the husband brings home 100k I believe the daughters time is infinitely more valuable being a stay at home mom, raising her child herself than going to work. She only really needs to do this until the child starts school. But having the mother raise her own child & instill her own values in the child is priceless. The child will be much happier & healthier as opposed to being raised by daycare workers. Its not even comparable.

@John Kevin But how many of them do you know has a husband that makes $100k and is paying the debt off....I don't think you guys are listening to the video. Bottom line, at some point the debt will be paid off. I understand the mom is like "why did you go to school if you going to drop out and stay home?" but the thing is, she's back in school therefor there is no need to make payments and her husband is paying down some debt. Nobody is bothering the mom at all in this scenario. Also, there's nothing wrong with being a stay at home mom, and if the husband wants to pay off the $22,000 then what's the big deal? Either way, no one is bothering the mother, she's just attached in name which is her own fault for co-signing. My daughter is 12, in 6 years she will enter college, you think I'm co-signing? Nope, I'm going to show her how she can work and pay for college EVEN THOUGH I can assist and pay for it. WHY? because these are important financial things we all need to pass on to our future generations, it's not just for us listening to Dave Ramsey. My nephew is 4, my sister is not financially savvy and she askes me for insight also, I want to teach her and my nephew too when he gets older so they don't make mistakes we all have, myself included. My aunt Co-signed for me on my student loans, she should have not done so. I didn't fully understand at the time. However, I pay my own loans. She has nothing to worry about.

Women should just not go to school (or go and dont take out loans) if their life goal is to be mom. I admire women who want to be moms, but going to school and accruing debt is just selfish and dumb. Plus, the college CC isnt fair to the husband.

Parent: I thought you said there were two goals Teacher: I was just talking about the first goals. We have three goals total. Parent: So we have three goals to complete? The cattle thing can easily be justified that it's out of season and they WOULD be worth 100k at the end of the season, but the immature product wouldn't be worth it as the care and maintenance would still have to be done until slaughter time. No one is going to pay $100k for a house that needs extensive repairs to sell it for $100k. The car might have cost 22k, but she only owes 10k now. A lot of people get confused when they have to publicly speak or speak to "famous people."

She said they sell them and it goes towards a car loan. So they are clearly breeding the cattle for profit and he has probably kept a few to breed as the mature and sold older cattle.

Reminds me of my sister-in-law whose Private school college education cost $175k. 100% paid for by my in-laws. Sis-in-law worked for 6 months making in a job that was $30k a year salary. Got pregnant and immediately quit. It's been 9 years and never went back to work or has no side hustle. When she was planning her wedding, she told her parents that they had to pay the whole cost and it was over $50k (nothing less would suffice). So they did. My in laws are still working in their 60's because they can't afford to comfortably retire yet. Father-in-law had heart attack two years ago but had to go back to work right after PT. Anyways... appreciate your parents ability to support you financially and consider what they have to sacrifice to put themselves through to take on debt and your responsibility. This situation reminds me of that. Thanks for listening.

If Mom co-signed the loan it is not “their” loan, it is actually only the caller’s loan with a backup guarantee by Mom. I would have liked to hear Dave say this is YOUR loan, not your mother’s and you should pay it off and if you cannot, you should definitely remove Mom as co-signer. If the caller has 2 or 3 years of on time loan payments the co-signer can be removed for most student loans. Nightmare for Mom, as this loan appears on Mom’s credit report.

My wife and I are living separately due to my temporary job location in another state. She is not internet/tech savvy in the least nor good on filling out paperwork. When she calls to have me help her on something, she sounds like this caller and keeps changing the information all over the place. I sometimes get so frustrated I just have to hang up to keep calm. Ugh! Can you blame the mother wanting to get off the student loan when her daughter is a stay-at-home mom and only indicates she will be finishing school "in a year or 2"? It is likely much longer than that or maybe never. The caller sounds as though she dropped out of school altogether.

Maybe I can talk my Mom into co-signing a car loan for me. I can drive it around while she sweats me paying the car note on time each month. Then she can shut the f*&# up about it and thank me for the privilege of going in debt for me. I think she’ll jump all over that offer!
