Impossible. The original Cave Story was released in 2004, two years before Sonic 2006. However, the Wii's 17 second "introduction" to Cave Story's "Last Battle" carries a similar motif as Sonic 2006's "Crisis City" (the Wii remake of Cave Story was released in 2010). Still, I highly doubt that NICALiS intended to rip off a motif from a different game.

The opening reminded me of a pokemon battle theme, but it quickly ascended into the high-intensity awesomeness that is the final showdown with the Doctor. The track got me from the beginning, when I played the english-patched original version.. it really does sound like the last battle, like this is the most important thing you're gonna do, like EVERYTHING rests on this single, bitter struggle at the end of the road. God I love this game.

Innocent characters that die in the Good ending: Ballos, King and Toroko Villains that are good after the Good ending : Balrog and Misery.

Well, I usually spam the super rocket launcher on both doctor phases, then get EXP and missiles from possessed Misery's minions, while avoiding possessed Sue. Then once those 2 are both dead, focus on dodging and shooting with the Undead core. Hope this helps!

Cave Story was released in 2004, as a freeware PC game. Sonic 06 was released in 2006. And BTW I heard Pixel didn't have any musical experience at the time...and look what happened! A masterpiece was born!

as universally panned as sonic 06 is, the music apparently has a strong following. When asked to defend the sonic series from the dreamcast onward, most fans cite the awesome music. Still, you're absolutely right. This composition (not this arrangement) was in the original cave story release in 2004. And you can't 'end' somebody. Das a crime yo.

EuWii version's intro is amazing, but the rest falls completely flat. So it sounds amazing here as an intro backed up by the greatness of the original and 3d versions.

All we need to do now is SLAP every song theme from Cavestory + on switch and create the ULTAMATE BALLOS THEME

To add on, it was developed just by Pixel, himself at the time. I'm not sure how long it took him, but I'm guess around a few years or so. Maybe even more.
