As a mediocre player from West Roxbury, I can relate to how Chris reacted to the extra attention he received in Montreal. Montreal was the pinnacle in the NHL We are working class people who never forget who helped us in life

Congratulations on your very successful podcast network Chris. I remember your time with me and the troops in March 2010 (Dubai and Afghanistan). You are like a fine wine... getting better with age. Keep it up.

My hockey hero Knuckles Nilan! You are so dedicated to the Habs and protecting your teammates. Had a relative play on Montréal, Doug Jarvis! God bless you, Knuckles🇺🇲🇮🇪☘️

This is fucking great, Knuckles. I’m glad the organization has you more involved lately as an ambassador for the younglings. If I was a hab, I’d take every opportunity available to hear these stories from you and other legends.

My all time favorite he was the cement and the soul of that team . He protected skills players and play on a great line with Carbo and Gainey. Love and respect you Chris all the best for you.

When I was young the Habs dominated. My home town team was the North Stars in the 70's and I loved the team but they were no good. I started looking elsewhere and no better Winning excellence than the Habs. There was no cable or anything but come Stanley Cup time there they were. Lafleur, Cournoyer, Gainey, Shutt, Lemaire, LaPointe, Dryden, Bunny LaRocque, Jarvis, Monduo, Houle, Robinson, Savard. Risebrough, Chartraw and a few others i missed. I loved the Habs. Knuckles I could listen to you all day. Thanks for sharing !

Watching Nilan's career Boston hated him. Chris was the Bruins arch enemy. When Brian Curran couldn't take him out And gave up fighting him the Bruins called up Jay Miller ! Every time Montreal put Chris on the ice the Bruins would put Miller next to him to fight him. After about 8 fights, with Jay winning or tying all of them, The Canadian's brought up John Kordic to counter Jay Miller every time Jay was on the ice . It was all just great rivalry . And then the worst defensemen and fighter in Bruins history makes a trade to acquire Nilan for Boston. What a Putz.

Chris Nilan’s career was 1979-1992. That his story and old videos are still searched today speaks volumes to the impact he had on people. There might have been players who had more natural talent than Chris Nilan, but best of luck to anyone trying to find a player who had more heart- game after game than Knuckles!! Also, the struggles and rough patches he went through in his life were enough that they would have destroyed many men under the same circumstances. Chris had the heart and the gumption to get through all of that adversity and come out shining on the other end. Absolutely ZERO doubt about it, Chris Nilan was great hockey player and is a great individual as well. Opposing players and fans hated playing against him while he was adored by his own teammates and team fans. Just think about all those fights with the Bruins and the Middleton situation; and he was STILL cherished and became a fan favourite instantly by Bruins fans when he joined the B’s!!! That in itself proves how amazing he was.

If I knew all this at 15, I would've had a decent pro career. God bless the volunteers that coached me Bantam to Junior but they just didn't teach me what I was missing to play in the big league.
