You had the boat on it's slowest setting to try the self-righting. If you turn it up to full power I think it would have worked!!! Can you please see if it make's a different?

the boat dident flip over...was it because you were on low speed...flip it back over and try it on the fast speed may make the difference...moter will have more fliping power on hi than on low

Self tighter will work if the throttle is on high

The self righting may well work,if the motor had been in it's fastest setting. Obviously the low speed didn't supply enough torque.

It didn't work because you threw it in upside down to start with which means no water got into the impeller.

ProBoat makes good stuff. I have their PBR (same type of boat as in the film Apocalypse Now), which is very scale, and has two water jets, which are used both as propulsion, and steering, since there is no rudder. It was a boat designed to travel in shallow inner rivers in South East Asia, and it was very good at its job. The scale ProBoat version is lots of fun to run! The off-brand I am guessing doesn't have a strong enough motor to give it the torque to flip itself, which is something I can see a cheaper spec versions doing. The both look almost identical, and I am guessing they are probably both made in the same factory, but ProBoat give is upgraded motors and other parts.

I think the problem with the self righting is the wing on the top catching the water. I have a Flytec version of this boat without the wing and it rights just like the proboat. Actually I thing both boats are built by the same company. Removing the wing would probably solve the problem.. These are very fun boats!

Another great video. I was running mu UDI R/C Arrow, another of your past boat week recommendations, on a local casting pond. Unfortunately I nailed the steel water inlet pipe in the center of the pond. Flipped on its back, would not self right. 45 min later it floated to where I could reach it. When I arrived home, I found the video where you did an earlier test of both the Jet Jam & the knockoff. My JJ rescue boat is here. Keep up the fun work and keep me spending money!

The self right probably didnt work because of all the water that got into that top layer when it capsized.

Still having massive fun with the flytec v008 (previous version) with which the self righting button works perfectly. Picked it up a while ago for just €45,- and have no regrets ever since 😄

Very similar to my old Hobbico Brushless "Reef Racer 2" I purchased at Tower Hobbies back in 2005......and it still runs great!

You need to turn the speed all the way up for self-righting.

Great content as always. I wonder if the self righting would have worked in high speed mode. Either way I think I'm passing on this knock off boat. The proboat one looks much better with the catcher on the front. I'm thinking of getting the Feijue (spelling?) one that was like 140 dollars and came with a 3S Lipo. That one looked fun for a relatively low entry. I do love the idea of a recovery boat! I wouldn't want to get in the water I plan to use an RC boat in. haha. Have a great day!

They are both in the toy grade class, so either will do. Fei Lun started it all. I have viewed many of these 13" and 17" brushed motor boats since 2015, and the "works" inside are nearly identical. Rudders too. They all copied off the very successful Fei Lun FT009 and smaller FT007.

HH & TH are smart to be having 2 day sales instead of just the one day flash sales. I've missed so many of their one day sales because I generally just check my email once a day in the early AM and not again until the next day.

That was neat that it had the ?spoiler? on the canopy. Looked pretty quick.. should have raced the two, see if they were the same speed - we know that it didn't have the self righting. (See if the same besides that)

Maybe the self righting would have worked if you had the speed set to max.? Then maybe the trust would have been enough to flip it

nate when you tried the self righting feature you had it on low speed you would probs have to have it on high speed to do it you'll have to try it and let us know how it goes

I have one to help me place a fishing bait in spots I can't cast to. The price is right and fun to play with if the fish aren't biting.

If you take that knock off back to the lake, or just fill up a tub, and remove that top with the goofy spoiler, then try its self righting. That china knockoff you have had on your channel from back when you first showed off the proboat, has the same kind of 1 button recovery this knockoff had, and it does exactly the same thing, but without that thing on top it easily flips over. I was able to add a scoop to its front with my 3d printer (did have to drill a hole in the front of that knockoff to mount the scoop) to allow my friends and i to recover disc golf discs that ended up in the water. But at the price, i went ahead and ordered the real one today. hopefully its scoop will be as good as the one i made for the other boat

You guys should do a load test on the capabilities of the water jet. How much weight could it push typically push/towboats are not jet powered due to the lack of torque that a traditional prop provides. In real life water jet drives operate more efficient at higher RPMs.

Hey I finally broke down and bought a quadcopter. I got it online and one of the motors doesn't work. I need to find out type of motor it is.

I do Boats also, not just Airplanes. I modified the Pro-Boat 55 Blackjack to electric. got tired of having to get into my Kayak to save it when the Weed whacker motor would conk out. i live on the Intercoastal waterway and if I don't get them, will end up in Savannah. Now using a Power 120 electric and now no problem. Speed gunned it at 100 Mph. Screams !!!!!!!! have Fun. Arrgh CM.

WHY? does not turn back? ..so because he has that wing on him .. The wing creates an extra weight that needs to be raised, as well as the water pressure when turning.
