Yep she could of killed them first. It's how we always did it down in Louisiana. If you boil them alive they have a chance of dropping their claws. So we stabbed them on the underbelly first. It's called spiking. Always freeze them for 20 minutes so they don't feel anything. They are kind of dazed and you can handle them easier without being pinched.

You're right, but a lot of Chinese - not each and everyone, of course - think different. For them animal is edible or useless. They have no respect for them. It's hard to watch some videos.

It is cruel, but nature is often cruel. I am blessed to live in a rural setting, on a small river in northern Minnesota. The otters and raccoons don't kill crayfish before they eat them. And the pack of wolves that killed a deer in my backyard, started eating the abdominal wall before the deer was dead. And if you spend any time with animals, you know they have a much heightened sense of smell, is it cruel to send them to processing plants with the smell of death and blood detectable long before you pull in the parking lot? Life is often hard and savage, spend time watching an ant mound, ghastly. I hunt, and from the many times I have witnessed death, a clean head shot on an unsuspecting animal, is about the most humane way to die, in my opinion. My father grew up in Montana and spent a life hunting. He lived with his paternal grand parents. I asked him about great grand father and hunting. Apparently great grand father had given up hunting while dad lived with him. When I asked why, dad gave me great grand father's answer: I am sick of killing. Dad and I had this conversation when I was 15 or so, now at 51 I understand. Last season, I planted our huge garden to feed myself, elderly parents, and two teenage boys. We can, dehydrate, freeze, and put into cold storage a lot of vegetables. We also raised 11 turkeys to slaughter size. We also harvested three deer. Guess who got to butcher and process the turkeys.....the worst is when there is the last one.....it knows....even now, eight months after I still feel sick as I recall slaughter day. I don't get that feeling with deer, or hunting. I am just another predator, and the deer have a chance. And when I'm hunting and shoot one in the head, and it drops, and barely twitches, I feel in my heart that it is a better way to die than being struck by a car, or torn apart by wolfs and eaten while still alive. So, in conclusion, yes, it would be more humane to dispatch the crabs before pulling them apart, and much less cruel.

many rural life place in Thailand, my chinese friends all moved to settle down in Thailand. Frankly speaking, Thai land nature protect much better than China. why i know , because im chinese live in both big citys and small villages. most of my friends all move to your country.
