The 36V MultiVolt 7-1/4 Inch Cordless Rear Handle Circular Saw (C3607DWA) has two main items that make it stick out in the crowd. First, this saw is about 2 pounds lighter than the Dewalt, Milwaukee and Makita Rear handle saws. 2 pounds is very noticeable and it makes this saw feel excellent in your hands over a long period. Second, we have never used a rear handle circular saw that we could push and push with very tough cuts without rest. This new saw just kept giving us its all and never cut out once.
In our opinion, this is a job-site-ready battery-operated rear handle saw with the power and runtime to make contractors very happy. The saw has a 5,100 RPM no-load speed and a 2-7/16” cutting depth. The brushless motor is powered by a 36V MultiVolt battery and features a 53° bevel range with 3 positive stops, a magnesium base, a rafter hook, and easy cutting depth adjustment.
This 36V MulitVolt 7-1/4” cordless rear handle circular saw includes the new VPR 24 tooth framing blade and a convenient tool bag. This saw is backed by Metabo HPT’s Lifetime Lithium-ion tool body warranty, providing peace of mind for your purchase. It accepts any MultiVolt battery and can also accept the unique AC adapter (ET36A) to plugin for all-day runtime.

Honestly, I love this saw. Coming from a nation that only uses blade right saws, it's convinced me that I'm better off in most applications using a rear handle. Sure, it's not the fastest rear handle, but it's faster than my old corded and no one complained about those saws. It's much lighter than my old corded and my old flexvolt rear handle too. Such a pleasure to use. I had to sell it as I moved countries, but I will purchase another once it's needed.

I've been using the 10" 36v miter saw for 1 year. I think I've changed batteries three maybe four times. This is under professional use. Not daily, but weekly. It just keeps on going. That was the first Metabo Hpt product I bought. Since then I've started switching every tool from Dewalt, Bosch Ridgid to Metabo. Very happy with the products, especially with the the sale prices they have.

Great review on what looks to be an excellent saw, Brian. Regardless of platform, I agree about the remarkable technological advances that this tool exemplifies: It's a monstrous framing saw with great battery life that weighs 10lbs, a true all-day workhorse that'll be easier on the user's body. Largely because of your reviews, I got into the Metabo HPT platform a couole of years ago. Every tool I have bought and used is great, and I will certainly get this saw, which looks to be the best tool available for my needs.

I have been in the hitachi/metabo ecosystem for at least a decade now. I have been recently working on a jobsite where the Tpole is really far away so unrolling and rolling an extension cord daily is kinda a pain so I bought a metabo 36V cordless sidewinder to add to my collection of metabo tools. I have been using a Makita rear handle hypoid corded saw for a few years and threw my sidewinders in the garbage (figuratively…). I forgot how much I dislike a sidewinder saw being right handed. I found out that metabo recently released this saw so I Bought one of these metabo rear handles and it arrived the other day. Used it yesterday. Oh man what a difference! I already love it! My metabo sidewinder is going to become a track saw now.

Stoked for this saw. I’ve been a fan of Hitachi for many years. They make great tools, great warranty, and very competitive pricing. I lucked out when Metabo HPT ran a deal in 2020 where you could choose between the 4.0/8.0 battery or the AC adapter for free with the purchase of almost any bare tool. I stocked up on tools and batteries (and an AC adapter) for pretty cheap. Glad to see they’re still expanding their lineup even though they got booted from Lowes!

I have the 10” sliding compound miter saw. I love it but the only thing I don’t like is the brake for the blade. It either has never had one or it’s been torn up since I bought it about a year ago. I bought it because I didn’t have power at my shop at the time plus how compact it is with the way it’s designed. I purchased the cord with it to but still believe I got a great deal. Late comment here Brian Great video and review! That saw sounded saaweeet! How smooth is it in use? Very very impressive! I’m excited to possibly pick one up, now that I scored the Christmas deal at Lowe’s with the ‘buy the 36/18 MultiVolt battery and charger, and pick a free tool, deal.’ And it is the larger 4.0/ 8.0 Ah battery. I chose the cordless trim router. You will HAVE to check that out Brian! It sounded a little slower with the A/C adapter attached. I think that is a good design, and could make a difference out in the field? Even though AC power may be available, one can continue to work, and not have to wait on a battery to charge? I am surprised by the poor design regarding the arbor wrench? Seriously Metabo/ Hitachi? This was a surprise to me on my 36 Volt Makita, which has NO place for the wrench. I came up with a crude fix to keep it on my saw. It’s not a very firm attachment, but the saw is Sooo Smooth! 😁 Great stuff Brian! Stay safe and Healthy Everyone! 👍👍👍👍✌🏻😁🇺🇸

IMHO, eight now, this is the best rear handle saw out due to weight and ergonomics. It is close in power to the top ones and battery life is amazing as you can see.

It appears to be a great saw, but I personally don't feel that Metabo tools are going to become popular on most contractor jobsites. As a contractor, we prefer to invest in tool brands that offer a lot of really good tools that all take the same battery. DeWALT will still remain number 1 on most jobsites in my region. I seldom see a guy with something else.

DeWalt has a lot of cheap shit tools though. They make some really good ones, especially their flexvolt, but some are like kids tools. Their cordless reciprocating saw for instance. Milwaukee and Metabo make great ones, but the DeWalt is homeowner grade in comparison

@intlcounty8571 2 жыл бұрын
@@cuchanu You are correct that DeWalts low end stuff is junk. But their 60v tools are better than most. I feel like Milwaukee quality since TTI bought them out has been declining each year. More plastic parts, cheaper build, but higher price. When you look back at the Made In USA Milwaukee original tools from the late 80's, they were built way better and they are still working today. This new stuff will be lucky if it last 5 years.

@@intlcounty8571 I think you're right about Milwaukee too. I have settled upon 12v Milwaukee for some compact tools, 36 volt Metabo because they're EXCELLENT, and Ridgid to fill in a couple of blanks. Metabo's weak spot is their limited lineup compared to DeWalt and Milwaukee, but so far their 36v tools have blown me away.

DeWalt has let me down on many of their lithium.some 60V but too expensive-moved to Milwaukee and Makita yrs ago but over the last 3yrs the 36V Metabo HPT has replaced many of the red and blue as well Great lifetime warranty, AC adapter, features Portable band saw Grinder Table saw Mitre saw Grinder Hammer drill SDS Max rotary Full Size plunge router Vacuum 7 1/2 sidewinder New Left side rear handle Mid torque Cordless compressor All preferred over the others and the AC adapter let's all of them go unlimited and saves battery longevity Almost forgot-Hitachi has been the go to "the guns that built the west" nailers for 25+ yrs when U started and their 36V and 18V nailers also are top of line

@@baseballdude8491 They main issue with Metabo is that finding their tools and batteries in stock will be a problem for those of us who live in rural states with limited stores. Only Lowes here carries them. And if they stock 1 battery at a time, you're lucky. In addition, nobody wants to honor the warranty on HPT so I was outta luck when my 12" sliding miter broke. DeWALT is sold everywhere, so no issue to get batteries or even parts to fix yourself.

Please for your own safety set you blade to a proper depth accidents happen and fingers are not easily sewed back on. Yes I knew someone who did what you were doing using you hand for a rip guide and was lucky not to lose them only because he had set the blade properly. It also helps the saw performance by not overworking it.
@histguy101

Setting the blade to the wood depth makes it work harder, because it's contacting much more of the board at once. Is there like a sweet spot? Maybe twice the wood depth?

@@danielbackley9301 well, that would run the motor a lot harder. I usually run a table saw 1-1.5" above the piece. It will cut faster and smoother. It it's a dense hardwood and the blade is flush with the board, the table saw groans for relief

Perfect for small projects. Not got a lot of power so if the wood starts to flex it stops the saw pretty easy. Use it for small tasks and you will be happy. Safety system Works great kzfaq.infoUgkxjpBI8OOeUXib_iT7UomCrQ-uauwZJ62c .lose your grip on the saw it shuts off and the sheath closes over exposed saw.
