She was once a Pegasus until her aspiration to spread love to all pony-kind made her ascend to Alicornhood and granted her the title of the Princess of Love, where she continued to spread and bring love to ponies. She is the adopted niece of Celestia. She was crowned as a princess after Nightmare Moon's banishment and during the middle of the beginning of season 1. She then becomes Twilight's beloved foal-sitter even after the latter enrolls in Celestia's school. Through her foal-sitting with Twilight, she also knows Shining Armor and eventually marries him. - Shining Armor is voiced by Andrew Francis, who also voiced Max Mcgrath from Max Steel, Cole from Ninjago, Ty Rux from Dinotrux, and the English dub of Megaman EXE.

It's easy to know it was Chrysalis. Green magic always point to her. Plus, she's a changeling. Her power gets stronger whenever she eats love. Cadance have two color wings. That's the difference from pegasus transform into alicorn. Normal pegasus also can transform into alicorn. Remember: Chrysalis and her changelings are the only pony that have lime green magic.

Cadance does get a backstory outside of the show that explains how she was a Pegasus pony who was eventually adopted as Celestia's niece. There might be natural-born Alicorns that exist outside of Equestria, but that is not confirmed within Friendship is Magic. Interestingly enough, the first hardcover expansion for Renegade Game Studios' My Little Pony Roleplaying Game is 'Dark Skies Over Equestria' which introduces the Changelings into the tabletop rpg. In the earlier Tails of Equestria: The Storytelling Game (River Horse Games) the Changelings were made available fairly early in 'The Bestiary of Equestria'.

The Werefrog remember watching the Japanese version of this episode. We had the chat of fans all complaining that BBBFF song was in English because some songs were English and some Japanese, and there wasn't a clear pattern. Then, when it got to This Day Aria, and it was Japanese, and the Japanese singer was far better than the English. All the fans loved it in Japanese, and the Japanese people in chat kept asking why Americans were watching it in Japanese. Also, for the Americans, this was the first instance of Shining Armor. In the Japanese, Shining Armor shows up in the opening them song. Princess Cadence was added here so they could sell all the pink Celestia toys (now Cadence). Originally, Hasbro wanted Celestia to be pink, but Lauren Faust was adamant that Celestia not be a pink princess. They made Celestia white, but all the toys made for Celestia were pink. No one bought them because they didn't look like the character. Then, they made show accurate Celestia toys and created Princess Cadence so they could sell the Cadence toys and not have all the extra pink unsellables.

Queen Chrysalis is one of the most badass villains in the show. The Mane 6s fighting the Changelings was hardcore. The wedding was beautiful 😈😈😈🔥🔥🔥💍💍💍

Cadence quickly became a beloved character after this. Some great design and she's just so heartwarming.

I love cadence. I also love chrysalis! Such interesting characters, one representing love and one feeding from it. I adore their designs sooo much. The introduction of more races outside of pony was a blast too.
